So the title says it all. I have to get my daughter to bed and in an hour or two I will be buying a car that needs to overpower the GT World Championship(IA Final Races) I have $2.6 million and have not purchased a second car yet. I like the McLarens, minolta, '88 jag, bentley 8, ford gt-II and a few others... what beasts do you guys like? And why is this the car to get(seeing as this will be my first hard-core grinding car)? I am also slightly willing to grind a little bit to get a pricier car too, maybe just not as high as the Chapparal's. Thanks for the input!

The Mazda 787B isn't too shabby, in my opinion.
Also I've been fiddling with the Ferrari FXX, and with racing - medium tyres at least, it isn't exactly sluggish.
One final suggestion for you is the Audi R18, but I can't remember the price off the top of my head...

As stated above, Minolta is truly the king. The Sauber C9 hangs with it too. Then there is the BMW V12 LMR, Pescarolo Hybride and the Nissan R92CP.

If I were you, go for the Sauber Mercedes. Such a great and enthralling car to drive. 👍

The child is still menacing around the house. Thanks for all the good stuff so far.

A Daihatsu with a wings.
But I'm not a gangsta

Minolta is king.

I KNOW! I put more miles on that car than any other in GT5. So Does it handle pretty siilar? Great Brakes, Great Acceleration, handles like a wet-dream...Yeah Overpowering at its finest.

Ryk
The 88 Jag is almost in Viking colours...
It may as well be their away jersey sponsor, but they always stink "on the road" (obvious pun)

I think the Minolta is overrated, just because "everyone" had it in GT5 (prize car)

True but also was the most preferred grind car until you could get a Formula Gran Turismo or RedBullX1.

Thanks! I like the fact that grinding to get the same cars we have had since gt3or4 is way less time consuming. ANd since my GT5 most miles car is the minolta and i like the idea of going a different route. leaning towards the bentley 8 because i hate that thing but i love it so much.

Because it was a prize car, i think.
Nissan R92CP > Toyota Minolta IMO

Bspec - Suzuka 1000km i think... let me check...No Like the wind a-spec! that's prob why, because everyone had it at lvl 20something. I liked it in gt4 so I drove the snot out of it in gt5. Why, IYO, is the nissan better?

If you wanna win the GT world championship, you'll need an LMP, the LM GTs aren't fast enough. I won it with the Peugeot 908 HDi, which I bought because It's faster than the Audis, the Bentley was sometimes difficult in GT5, and the 2009 Le Mans winner is hardly going to be slow.
The Sauber's a good car, at least in a straight line. I haven't driven it but it could overtake my Peugeot on a long enough straight. It didn't hold that lead in the corners though.
The Minolta is a popular choice, I owned one in GT5 but haven't driven it since GT4, so I don't know anything about it

Buy the Peugeot or the Sauber, they're both capable of winning GT world championship. If you're using the DS3 controller, avoid the Bentley

Owned in GT5 but haven't driven it since gt4 = Bentley 8 for me. I am using a DS3 so dually noted.

is it that the Peugeot you can drive in the Arcade? I did like that one.

I been using a boosted R18 TDI LMP 15 ANi. (used a stage 2 turbo,as it spools up perfectly for its 6k red line. currently holding first place by 40 points. (I have silver stone and nurgburgring to go.)

I use a DS3 with no driver aids...
The Bentley was great to drive, even when the tyres lose grip it was balanced - top fun on the edge.

I think I said this when I went to the showroom...

"Bentley Speed 8. 4 litre twin turbo 8 cylinder Engine in a 90° angle of V. Develops 600 horsepower, with Xtrac sequential 6 speed transmission. Can go from zero to 100 kilometers an hour in 2.5 seconds. And I even like the colour."

The inside however is a bit ... gaudy.

Now that the 1st gear acceleration is more refined in GT6, I bought the Sauber. Its the only Prototype other than the 15TH Ann R18 in my garage. Handles good. Makes good power and I like the interior.

It is, I'd definitely recommend it. It's fast, easy to drive and it handles well. A lot of people think the Bentley is easy to drive, so it might be different in GT6 to how it was in GT5. If you can save your game to a USB, it might be worth doing that, so you can buy the Bentley (or a different car) and if you don't like it you can reload the game from before you bought it

R92CP's acceleration is out of this world... Problem is, has insane torque and is very hard to control with stock setup... but you only need to do some tuning on it.

If autosave can be disabled, you can play around with all your options and turn it back on when you've got a car you like

So it's going to have come down to something like Price per PP or maybe just gut feel, but so far the finalists are :
Bentley Speed 8, Nissan R92CP, Peugeot 908 HDi, and the Mercedes Sauber C9. Thanks for the input and any last pitches are welcomed.

Another useful thing with the 908, you can get the base model which you can paint the body/wheels and set the car number.

Found your tune ideas for the nissan, bought it, tuned it, won every race it's raced. It corners like junk but acceleration is out of this world. Already made 4 million more and bought the 908 and minolta.

put the Cadillac raven black on the 908, SICK!
Thanks guys.

Glad it helped!
You can also try to remove the rear wing downforce and set some downforce on the front, it will understeer less/oversteer more - but it will also be more rear wheel spin prone, so use it at your own risk.
Personally I like oversteering/tail happy cars, and actually thats what I do, drive a R92CP with no rear downforce, its challenging and fun at the same time. I can have a hard time in some corners but when you get to the straights its surely rewarding.
But it's obviously not a suitable car for twisty tracks.

Peugeot 905 all the way. I don't know why so few people consider it. It's just as powerful as the Minolta, but much lighter and grippier.
