I stopped playing, it got boring. I need INFINEON RACEWAY, TWIN RING MOTEGI, EL CAPTAIN, cape ring suuuuuuuuuuuuckkkk!!! IMO

I've pretty much gone back to iRacing now, the online just isn't there in GT5 and I've done everything offline that I care to do for now.

A break is good though, sometimes you just get too much of a good thing and take it for granted.

I think i'd be the same if all i played was GT5. I play other games too. As good as it is, GT5 shouldn't dominate your gaming. A bit of variety in the games you play keeps each game fairly fresh. :)

Me too i keep going back too Forza because it's fun and the racing is much more exiting. Who needs 16 cars on track when you pass half of them in the first corner?

Beginning of Novemeber + December + January + February 5th = "4 months more or less"

.... to me anyways

But anyways, does that mean you still play frequently or not so much ? Or were you trying to correct my math estimations ?

GT5 was released on November 24, 2010... so Nov 24 to Dec 24 is 1 month, Dec 24 to Jan 24 is 2 months... so it's been out for 2 months and 12 days to be precise. :)

personally I think saving during an endurance race would destroy the whole point of the race. So no offence to the OP but I hope you never do play it again.

Sorry but some people have kids / friends / siblings / parents / whatever that want to use the PS3 in there household. So we can't have it tied up for the 5-7 days it would take to run a 24hr race.

But anyway I highly doubt when you run the 24hr races in GT5 you sit there for the entire 24hrs without pausing.

Pausing the game is the same as allowing us to save......... only it pointlessly ties up your PS3 for no reason.

I haven't stopped altogether but it really is getting boring at this point. I've spent hours and hours grinding just to buy cars. I'm done with everything I'm going to do in the game too. I can see myself breaking away from GT5 soon and going back to Forza 3 for a while. At least until Shift II comes out.

It's a shame really. Only a couple of months from release and many folks are already jumping ship or bored. PD could have done so much more... This game has so much potential that will never be realized. I don't know, maybe I just expected too much?

I still love and will always love driving in gran turismo 5, Although now adays i was quite busy on other things in my life

Pausing is completely different from saving.

If you save a game then if you make a mistake you can turn your system off and start again from the saved point. When you pause a game all you can do is continue from the exact same point again. That is a very different distinction.

An endurance race is supposed to be just that. An endurance. The name is kind of a give away.

It should require the driver to race for multiple hours without the option of saving every 20 mins if something goes wrong.

I know that's not for everybody. But then I think the endurance races (especially the longer ones) should be designed so that only a dedicated few people would ever even attempt them.

Restricting the types of cars that people can enter to force a competative field instead of allowing stupidly overpowered cars to win it on the first corner is a far more serious issue to be addressed in endurace racing than allowing people to reload from 20 laps ago everytime something goes wrong.

Im exactly the same I got bored of GT5 about 2weeks before littlebigplanet 2 came out and have hardly been on here since either only maybe once a week to check for any news that will make me want to pick the game up again like adding more events adding in race/championship saves the list goes on, and all this is coming from a guy who played GT4 on and off for the best part of 4years

how is this different than all the gt games before it?

well they added the online part at least, and have attempted to keep things interesting with the seasonal events.

and they appear to be trying to add something new to the whole thing... yay interactivity...

The previous GT series weren't marred by small niggles. The problem PD/Sony has done is not fix these problems and instead devote their limitless time to other things far less important.

Why can't they add/fix/delete the obvious problems before adding newer mundane content? It's like sweeping the dirt under the rug and putting a bandaid on it hoping we just somehow ignore the obvious elephant standing on the rug...
