I would kill someone (literally) to play this game. Had it reserved for over a year now and I get more exited every day.
I'm feeling the same way...oh well, I guess i'll just have to immerse myself in SanAndreas to pass the time.

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHhhhhhhhhh smookin!!!!!!!!!!!i want this game so bad!
but for the mean time San Andreas will do!(And then there is HALO 2 aswell hehe)

GTXLR
the V12 appeared only in the series 3 from 1971 onwards.
Maybe the one they modelled was an enthusiasts homologation and forgot to research properly.
Yes, I know, I'm a big Jaguar fan. Puts a question mark over GT4's accuracy.

dang, I posted this yesterday night!!! and there's 4 pages already! dude O_o
ok ok, as someone graciously posted, the event was held in mexico sity. The pics come from atomix, a mexican video-game magazine.
now, lets see:
those pics shown are from the press day, the actual days the event was held weren't like this, but incredibly, GT4 was one of the emptiest areas in EGS. the place was even fresher than in most stands! the people was scarce playin, you grabbed a controller (no wheel available), played your race, gave the controller to the next guy and lined un right behind him! hell, sometimes you didnt even have to line up at all! yes, it was... strange, that such an awesome game could be so empty. I went to check out the rest of the games, but none caught my attention so I went back to GT4 and player till my body couldnt take it... well, actually till they closed the stand. Hell, a staffer told me to turn the TV off when I finished the race, because the stand was bein' closed. yeap, till the very end =D

what else?
the Sauber Mercedes IS a monster to drive, its quick as hell. the E type year was my error, dont worry. No, I didnt see that BMW in the game, and Im sure the backfire was backfire because the rear end got illuminated really cool. I only saw this on the Jaguar, maybe the effect doesnt happen as often, and remember that there weren't heavily modified cars there, they were all stock. This explains why it happened on a race car too, but Im sure it was backfire.

Good stuff Cano, thanks for the info. Sounds like you had the kinda day most people on this forum would die for...myself included! :)

Sweet! I have one question, when you are racing, does it feel like you're actually driving on pavement? Can you feel the weight of your car and the imperfections in the asphalt?

Thanks for GOOOD information.

Damn, I wait the game even more now!!!

Were Backfires like that => https://www.gtplanet.net/gallery/gt4screens/gt_r_gt4
and when it came out was there "BANG-sound"? (Some games don't have the sound)

Did you see next cars: Audi quattro sport s1 -85 rally car, Audi r8 Le Mans or Lancia Rally 037?

Did you or someone other drive Lancia Delta S4 or Suzuki Escudo Pikes Peak? If so, how was that?

We must to create a new thread yet: Questions & Answers for Cano :D

In this "hot news" desert of the last weeks, that boy is a mine of information :D:D:D
(I do not understand how, after TGS, there are only a few new pics and news :grumpy: and not the expected barrage of info...)

they sounded like V8s at last! the 61 hot rod Buick sounds awesome and pulls like a freight train. and yes, the Tamora and /440R are in, too (:

Cano

as for the SLR, I dont quite remember, but the mercedes sectionwas huge, so it may be there. the RUF section grows two older cars in respect to the GT3 lineup, and both are damn cool.

That's all I needed to know. 👍

Thanks tons for deh information Cano!

Long shot: dynamic lighting?
nooo, they can't possibly have put in dynamic lighting....did you see if the road got illuminated as well?

I thought we concluded that that screenshot was a fake?

Did you say FULL TVR Lineup?? How bout these: T350, Sagaris, Typhoon?? Are they in? Was the BMW 2002 Turbo in?

Jag E Type eh? :dopey: Wow dude, nice...real nice.

Maybe the backfire was only for the Jag? And will be added to other high powered race cars. At first, I thought he could have got backfire mistaken with the car's brake lights but the brake lights dont exactly light the rear end up and he mentioned the fire coming from the pipes, so the brake lights couldn't be mistaken. And would it be that hard to put in backfire?

was the backfire like this?

j/k :sly:
I believe him, he has no reason at all to lie and maybe the backfire feature was only put in for the Jag at the time. And he did say the back of the car lit up and as you see in the pic above, the back of the porsche is lit up.

Be cautious with this feature, could be a visual mistake due to the sparks(specially with low ground cars), like this:

But lets not forget 0, he said he saw the fire come from the pipes and the back of the car lit up but your point is very valid. And also, notice he said, the car stopped and a gut of fire came out. Sparks couldn't come out if the car was stopped completely. Cano, dont be discouraged by the discussing here. Backfire is a very desired feature and people want it so badly in the game and I dont blame anyone for wanting it. I want to see a C60 popping off on the Nurb :)

Not all pipes are at the end of the car. So, it depends on what car he was driving. He said the Jaguar, so does this car have rear tailpipes?

if he saw sparks as backfire, he must be on crack... , sparks fly quite far away from the car and he did mention it illuminated the car body... and I don't see the sparks do that .. well not in Prologue anyway

we'll just have to see...

That's how the pipes look on the Jag racer
Cano did say the back lit up, I had doubts about it. I thought he could have mistaken backfire for the brake lights but those lights dont really light the whole back up. Like I said earlier, he said the car stopped and the fire came from the pipe. I doubt sparks could be mistaken for backfire.
