I still own Omega Boost, beat it. Man that game was hard as hell, ugly to look at now, but it was one wicked ride trying to defeat those baddies. Up there with the likes of R-Type and Gradius series'. PD's bread and butter is driving and racing, these guys love cars to no end, I like them to continue to do what they do better than everyone else is make me shake my head in disbelief as to how they got such a product using the technology they were on. Everyone else complains and cries, but these guys plug away and plug away and try to eke as much as they can out of a Sony system as possible.
@A2K78, what are you griping about? Driving games is what these guys do, they aren't a movie house, they aren't telling a story. They are giving you history of automobiles from their perspective, and while they are at it, they are pushing the bar to diminishing returns. You would rather them stop pushing forward with GT series and just hop onto something else? Foolhardy and a bit ridiculous, maybe they can have a younger development team spawned off that can do different things, and members of the main team who wish to try their hand at something new can switch to the new team and work there, but to cut out progression of the GT series because you think all they do is make sequels is stupid. GT5 isn't actually a sequel, it's more of a progression as a sequel is a continuation of a story or it infers that there is a story. GT series is nothing like that, it's just bringing the realism of actual driving cars the majority of the world has and never will be able to drive to them. If they can find a way to make it feel so real, that you'll feel G-Forces then I'd stop playing as that is too real for my taste buds.
GT will continue to be the bar which all car driving games will be measured by, the thing is they don't attempt to limit themselves to one thing, they try to incorporate as much as they can. I just like the simple fact that they just have lots of cars to choose from, each one is different from the other, including the numerous Skylines(they are not all the same, drive tune and drive again you'll understand). First game to include the obscure auto you have never heard of or seen, that is worth more than all the NFS put together. I hope PD creates a branch in major countries, that way they can include even more everyday vehicles that we see in our respective countries. Tune them and drive them with power that you yourself wouldn't dare attempt in real life. Videogames are entertainment and meant to allow you to get away, I for one love PD idea of a getaway...it's the best one on four wheels money can buy, for me.
