Saw two of them (traveling together) coming home from the Indy 500 today. And, as a bonus, I saw two real hippies at the race, complete with bandana, unwashed hair and bloodshot eyes!

There are Sambas around Sydney. We call them Kombi Vans. I usually give them a wave when I see one.
Something more uncommon that I saw last week, down George St, was a dark grey Lamborghini Gallardo. I see a few Ferraris cos I live near the showroom (test driving posers!) but not many lambo's.

Yes, JAIL. Storing personal data with no encryption is beyond negligence, it's criminal. Are you all a bunch of 16 year olds on your dad's credit card? don't you realize whats happening here? It may be a year before they suddenly take your identity and steal whateve they want. jeeze... SONY should be put out of biz....

I deliver newspaper's for a living and see a wide variety of cars nightly. Think some of my customers are trying to do GT5 in real life. Got one who has a '07 or '08 Mustang GT that's been modified for track day events, a similarly modified Mazda Miata (not sure of year), a SVT Lightning truck, and a '70 Charger that's being rebuilt for the local 1/8th and 1/4 mile drag strips. All these are either parked curbside or in the driveway along with a couple sedans and a skiboat.
Another one has a BMW M4 convertible and a Suzuki Cervo parked on the curb, and they call me crazy this is in a town of 600 people 40 miles from the city!
Oh yeah can't forget the farmer that keeps a couple of right hand drive Jaguar XK coupes (late 80s-early 90s models) parked at the end of his driveway
Samba is the name of a special series of the first Volkswagen Bus (T1), shown first at IAA in Frankfurt 1951 and built until 1967, when the T2 was introduced.
Its changes from the standard model are some chrome applications, the two-tone finish and (easy to spot) the windows at the side of the roof.
Samba was the name used (at least) in Germany, in UK/US apparently it was called 'Microbus Deluxe'. Don't know about any other countries.
Until a few years ago, I owned a VW Bus - unfortunately not the Samba (they are very, very expensive...), but a '79 T2b Westfalia - it was a little bit faster than the Samba in the game, but that's because we put an '84 Golf Turbodiesel engine in it. Broke down more often, though...
I saw one at a classic car show that had a 911 engine conversion. I've seen plenty of other VW Buses, but I think that was the only 'Samba' that i've seen.

It's a very easy customization - the engine is air-cooled and flat enough to be a good fit in the engine room, there are adaptors available for clutch/transmission.
I thought about it, as well, but all 911 engines I could find were too expensive, so I went for a water-cooled Diesel. Now that requires some modifications...
