I think the X2010 gets too much hate.

All it needs is some online restrictions.

GT5 is a driving sim right? Does a fictional car necessarily work to cancel that out? No.

Is't it suppose to be based on real world calculations? IMO, I think it was an amazing idea.

Think about how much it would help the series if top people looked to it to test drive prototype cars?

Reminds me of this game called "No Limits Roller Coaster simulator". It's like the gran turismo of coaster sims. You build your own coaster in a CAD like interface, and it shows how it would work. Graphics were amazing for their time too. Overall, there's a separate edition for professional coaster designers called "No Limits Pro".

GT is becomming more than just a game.

People forget what games like GT have been about. Forget fixing blocky shadows, forget how many polygons a premium has. Just remember that it's as close as many will ever be able to get to being a real race car driver.

GT is more than a game, it's an escape, a glimpse, and a test of your skill.

Can I marry this please. <3

It's not the car but more importantly the idiots that drive it badly.

its a car that can only be raced in a one make race

It's a virtual representation of what could happen in the real world. Much in the same way as driving the Jaguar XJ13 at full speed down the modern le sarthe circuit, or being able to jump in a Super GT car and having a race around the Nordshliefe. All are possible, but very unlikely.

I just hate it because it's overused in online races. And that people always drive the opposite way on the track and try to slam people head on with it at 300 mph.

Thank you so much for saying that! :dopey:

I primarily use it to ram drag racers on track days when admin isnt present and B spec mode.

I use it only in B spec.

The X2010 should be completly banned from a-Spec & online (like the Ferrari F'07 & F'10).

Provided that they eleminating the dump grinding aspect of the game first. ;)

That's a stupid idea,:yuck: I like to ram cars when I'm laps ahead of them 💡

agreed! my SLS has never been to an online track day where it HASNT been punted off the track by noobs in FGTs and X1s, and to add to it, both times it was nailed were blatantly on purpose, however i do have an X1 that i actually am pretty good with, ive never been to a track day with it where it hasnt set the fastest lap by more than 5 seconds.. on another X1.. i never use mine otherwise, except when im feeling a little troublesome and decide to take it in certain offline A-spec races just for fun, only today was its first B-spec grind, and that was only the Monza round of the Turbo event (where bob hilariously blew an Impreza right off the track with it).. you get the point, its not used often, to preserve good spirit, encourage competition, and keep driving clean.

I agree 100%.

Fake and it'll never happen. Should've never been in the game.

^ The only thing holding it back is the massive development cost, and a finding driver with big enough testes to actually consider driving it:ouch:

Don't know, how much do you think it'd cost to turn the RB6 into a mocked version of the X2010? When I think about it, the biggest issues the X2010 would face would be tires and the high-output motor. However this is easily fix when you tune the front and rear spoiler for less downforce and use the V10 powerplant they used back before they switched to the 2.4 liter V8s. Although it wouldn't be nearly as "extreme" as the "in-game" version, you'd still have a car that could go extremely fast (Upwards of over 240 MPH) and still have massive amounts of downforce.

The X2010, in a nutshell is a more aerodynamic F1 car (Covered cockpit and tires to reduce drag) making use of ground effects with a extremely high strung turbo motor. The only thing really holding it back is the development cost and the rules. If the FIA allowed the teams to slap the fan to the bottom of their cars, I can bet you'd be seeing MASSIVE amounts of cornering Gs. Everything that goes into the car makes perfect sense, the only thing is the car is near the extreme of what's possible.

NO. It can never, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever HAPPEN.

If someone actually built something that is even remotely similiar and think they can take every turn at Nurburgring at 200mph or more - I would be interested in one aspect of the run...

DARWIN AWARD

EDIT
They would take the first turn, mis judge it, and clean up crews would be called to bring a shop vac and trash bags instead of... body bag. Or maybe the driver does get lucky and is able to control it long enough until the tires explode the clean up crew is called to bring a scraper and power washer. Or perhaps the roads are just smooth enough that he doesn't get thrown off the road while twisting and winding at 200mph from the simplist of road imperfections, but then perhaps he takes a hill a little too vigourously and clean up crews are called to the neighboring town where the X2010 ended up crash landing. Oooo, I like this game.

It just isn't phyiscally possible, IMO. The people that would drive it wouldn't be strong enough to handle it. There wouldn't be tires made from the Star Wars galaxy that would be good enough to keep it on the track outside of a straight line. It surely can be made, it doesn't really look that complicated especially for the companies that R&D F1 cars and race them - but it wouldn't look anything like it does in GT5. /EDIT

We can't forget GT5 is just a game. Nothing more than that... GT5 is great at mimicking somewhat realistic physics with more realistic cars - but when things escalate beyond those parimeters, that's when GT5's physics really shine the best. I'm sure the absurdity of the X2010 challenges those parimeters.

I mean when I can be booted 10ft into the air by a random cone at TGTT (which happens more often than you think), then thats when I think we should stop looking at GT5 like some sort of R&D tool and more of the silly children's game that it is.

I like it for the distance endurances, and grinding. And people who say they'd rather grind using a different car, then you need a social life. I also find it pretty fun to drive too honestly, it's a challenge keeping up with the insane turning abilities this car possesses. With a DS3 anyways.

I like the thought of the x2010. It was a technical challenge to see what would happen IF there were no rules and regulations, and to include that in the game to see what it could do, what people think. It is never intended to be built, the g-forces are too high for humans to endure. Gt5 is a great simulator, as proven by many reviews which state so much. You may have a gripe with something in GT5, maybe its the vettel challenge, so you've come here to express your anger to its inclusion. Yes this is a game! so there are achievments to which the game has for you to get. Its difficult, but if it were easy you may be angered by that too. There are issues with the x2010 online, and as for a-spec, its your own choice what you use.

I might be one of them sometimes, but I totally agree, because there is kids who are playing with somebody's PS3 and playing with the X2010 online.

its a car that can only be raced in a one make race

I agree. When there is only 1 X2010, it is clear who is the winner.

It's a virtual representation of what could happen in the real world. Much in the same way as driving the Jaguar XJ13 at full speed down the modern le sarthe circuit, or being able to jump in a Super GT car and having a race around the Nordshliefe. All are possible, but very unlikely.
Agree.

GT5 is chock full of concepts and prototypes, I don't see why X2010 is any different. Polyphony made up the FGT before it and far fewer people complain about that.

As far as the "it's unrealistic" arguments go, I dunno...it kinda behaves like I'd expect a 1500hp, 500kg, vacuum car to behave. And if a bunch of amateurs can flawlessly pilot it around the nurburgring in ~3:30 in GT5, I'd bet there's quite a few real drivers that could manage to take a real copy and get it around a simpler test track. I'm sure that if a couple decades ago someone had envisioned a modern F1 car, people would've whined that it also would be impossible, too expensive and uncontrollable as well.

I for one am glad that it's been included.

IMO the car is completely possible. Think of it like the cell phone in the 1950's... It was one hell of an idea.
Just because it seems impossiblely unfathomable doesn't mean it can't happen.
When it does finally grace us with its presence in reality I think there will be a toned down version for people to race in then a balls out version to be raced remotely from cockpit setups much like what some of you already have and most of us wish we did.
So in theory a big and insainley fast rc car piloted by some amazing divers that spectators could try to watch from the side.
I know somebody if going to rail on me for having said this but hey I'm posting this from my droid in my highschool AP history class. How long ago do you have to go for that to seem impossibley unfathomable?

Edit: sorry for some grammatical and spelling errors. My phone likes to change words on me while I'm using swype texting but I think I fixed most.
