............in the next GT game, it will include all the GT Concepts from all sorts of titles all over in the world in one simple GT4/GTN total package set here in the NTSC (US) version (maybe it will contain 3 DVD disc sets).

PEACE!!!!

All Concepts? Isn't is better to have a combination of existing new cars, older cars and Concepts :car:.. rather than all one type?

:rscared: 3 Discs :floppy:, you think? 1 or 2 maybe, but 3?

heh heh ;)

Well, by the time it gets outside of Japan(in what, 2 more years?), we should ALL have the hard drive, which means 2 things:

1.) It should allow us to get new/old(you know what I mean, new cars for us, but they may be used cars) after the game is shipped, so we just download them and add them into the game

2.) We should be able to install parts of the game on the HDD, so maybe we'd only need 1 disk if it had 2, or 2 if the game came with 3(1 for sim, 1 for arcade)

3 discs is great! 1 for the older cars, 1 for the newer cars, and 1 for concepts and race cars...we'd end up with thousands of cars...

I agree with MazKid...are they gonna have old concept cars, new concept cars, and future concept cars? I haven't been keepin' up so go ahead and treat me like a n00b...:thatsodd:

Any which way the cars mix and match up doesn't matter to me as much as NOT having multiple disks to the game. GT2 was a huge pain in the arse with the cars on one disk and the TT mode on another disk. Online racing was just cumbersome with all the disk swapping.

I'm so happy all of my interface gripes from GT2 have been resolved in GT3.

I think you can pretty much take it as given that GT4 will be two DVD-Roms, assuming the old bangers make a return.

I'm happy to disk swap if my late 60's Skyline GT-R's in there!

There'd be no need for multiple disks if they'd do away with the 15,000 versions of the Skyline already.... or Lancers, that's getting out of hand too. In fact, that's pretty much my only gripe about GT these days, too many versions of the same car. I'd rather have more manufacturers.

they (polyphony digital) has already been talking about downloading cars to your ps2. you purchase them with credits, and u get to test drive before you buy.

so with the hard drive, the amout of cars we can own is enormous.

That sounds pretty sweet... worth the price of the HD even! I'm sure this would greatly simplify OLR as well.

All i want to see in GT4 really is all the muscle cars back.. I miss them and i cant imagine how awesome theyd look on the PS2

I didnt mind the disk swapping much in GT2, and i dont see why it supposedly made OLR so hard.. Its not much different then switching modes in game.. Except for you lazy people that dont like to get up

But with new technology can't they create double layer Games Disks :floppy: as with DVD's?

woa three dvds well  I reckon they minght jack up the price if it was three dvds

I'm with you. Get the DVD burners that the film industries use! Then, instead of just useing 4.5GB per disk(that's without the formatting and everything), we can have what is it? either 7-11GB on one side, and we could have a doublesided disk. That would keep costs down, right?

With that confirmation of using the hard drive, it looks like what would be best is to have the basic cars come on the disk(the cheaper ones), useing 1 disk, and have the better cars bought online, using the hard drive. Then no disk swapping!

Yep RJenson11 lower costs with less discs hopefully (mind GT2 wasn't :2cents: )

Single Disc equivalent to 2 Discs should be pretty easy.

Double layer DVD's do pause :clock: for a second when moving from one layer to the next one on a single side of the disc :floppy: (e.g The Fast and The Furious has it) but this could just be a loading process on :gt:

i.e loading from Simulation mode to Arcade mode :D

Have I got that right, it's surely possible? :sun:

Every one wants more cars and that`s a good thing.
Although ever asked yourself about the developing time it will take. One car takes two weeks to create. 600 cars takes, well you know math... :D

may they should release the game with like 200 cars and 30 odd tracks and loads of races then about a month later release an expansion pack that u can save to ur hard drive then just keep for back up.

Hardrive saving would be a good option :computer:

And yep Doug2003, more tracks would be brilliant.... :curvyrd:

Anyone know if there are Official Plans for new tracks in :gt: 4?

I originally thought that, hey! If we download cars later on if the game comes out, that's a great idea! But then it dawned on me:

If PD goes with that option, that will screw us royally. There's many reasons for this:

1) It will mean less rewards

If you think about it, sure, getting additional cars is good, but don't you want to be able to WIN them? How can you win them if they're not available when the track comes out? I mean, the only way you could win them was if we had to install the whole game, and then we'd need to patch it after every car. And one starts patching as soon as the first patch comes out and always gets the next patch, that's great, but what about those who don't buy the game right away? Or don't get PS2 until about a year after the game comes out(luckily, I already have a PS2 and GT3,), they'd have to download a HUGE patch! And if they had 56K as their primary internet connection(who knows what else the could have, but most people still do have a 48.8 connection sadely(luckily, again, I am not one of those people), that would take them AGES to download! And to make it worse, they probably couldn't play while they download, because it could be like saving your game, you just get a blank screen that only has a progress bar.

2) Less supprises

Sure, finding out what cars are released would be awsome, but there wouldn't be any more "secret" cars, like Spoon, Poly/F1 cars, etc., after the game was released.

3) Less suspence

Yeah, um, we'd know when the cars are coming out, but in the meantime, hey, play some GT4....

Now, I don't want to sound all negative, so here's some +'s about this:

1) Glitches could be solved.

I don't know about you, but I hate that one glitch on Cote de' Azur where if you go on the yellow edge of the road, you hit an invisible wall...

2) We could ask for specific cars

Granted that we know they don't have licensing to all the cars, perhaps they could get addition licenses for cars there's a 'high demand' for. Hey, it could pull in additional GT4 sales later on from the additions.

3) Less disks

If we can get additional cars, then we don't need 3 disks!(I didn't say 2 because I think 2 would be a wise thing, here's my theory on how this could go down:

If we get some REALLY large sizes for the courses, and basic cars and the movies, then we can have those on a disk as well as a basic instillation program for either the HDD or, if we get some larger memory cards, to format those for GT4, so we can have patches and additional cars on there. See, if we just had the basics on the DVD or, hopefully not, a CD, then we can download all of the rest of the cars. Now, we'd only have 1 disk for the barebones, but it would REQUIRE you to download, let's say, a PLUG-IN. Now, if you have a broadband connection, that's great! However, if you have a slow DSL, ISDN, or 48.8 connection, you don't want to waste all that time(probably several days), right? So instead, you get another version of GT4. This version contains the 1 disk that the broadband users have, but in addition, a second disk could contain the plugin. There, no need to spend several days downloading huge files due to interruptions or outages(for 56k, you can get disconnected, or for anybody, the power might go out, or your lousy brother could reset the PS2 with a game he wants to play)

That's just my hypothesis on what should be done and my latest* thoughts on the subject

*As of 01/08/02 1st of August, 2002

I think the new cars that will be available for downloading, will be newer models, or maybe classic cars. After all GT4 is the final edition for PS2. So it makes sense that you afterwords can update the game with more cars, or even tracks. That`s athrilling aspect to look forward to.

yeah think about it. say a new car comes out and u think that is great u can download it. plus think about this say a month after gt4's release ferrari sign a deal u could download the entire range now that would b great. :D
