I guess you could just say I got pretty unlucky 2 races in a row.

Cant help but feel a bit robbed, it seems everytime I get my rating back up to A/S something like this happens and I go tumbling back down again. I know theres some cases where I could of played it safer but it is racing at the end of day.

Hope you all had a better easter than me lol :cheers:

Seems to fit my experiences lately very well. Sorry this happened... Join the club ;):indiff:
 
It's a fun course when you know how to take it. It's given me 5 wins so far today, and a drop to SR.A. I get hit pretty much every time in T1. Yet I found positioning yourself on the inside at entry and stick to the inside increases your chances to survive with only a 1 sec penalty. It's a long way back to SR.S though, +2 SR for last race, won, yet got punted at T1, 1 sec penalty.

I guess I'll do the daily C a go when I'm done with Tokyo. That should top SR back up to 99 in one or maybe two races. 15 laps, lots of points. Unless that's a derby race as well....

Shouldn't have said anything. Next race a swerve blocker on pole causes a pile up in T1, 10 sec penalty, -8 SR. I have time for one more Tokyo race, at 69 SR now, so it's either staying in SR.A or down to SR.B next race.

Result: Another win, yet this happened.

A/A driver in front hits the wall, I see it coming and brake as hard as I can trying to avoid, still a slight tap. 2 sec penalty. Rest of the race no issues (I got through T1!!!) -4 SR, at 65 now. Still SR.A by no margin at all.

I've given people space all day, always brake on time, yet random accidents and getting rammed has got me down from 99 to 65.... 6 wins though and 2K DR up. Trade one for the other I guess.

Looks like they might be hurting for players or maybe this was during non peak hours. Interesting mix of DR ratings in race #2. 2 A’s, 5 B’s, 5 D’s, and 3 E’s. It appears the game prefers to match by SR first, which seems like a cruel joke.
 
I had the same luck with yesterday's races. Dropped from A/S to A/B over about four races. :( Today was much better though. Won four races, got multiple fastest laps and poles, I'm still at A/B though. I yoyo like this all the time now it seems and more likely than not it's others smacking into me or causing the issues. Got brake checked on Nordschleife, 10 second penalty. Got that 10 sec penalty multiple times yesterday.

I thought that at first as well but the system seems to want to emphasize the quality of the experience in that clean drivers run with clean drivers despite the skill level. Since everyone starts at E/E, even Aliens/Robots. Once they've got their SR they can show their speed in clean races.

Just watched it back again and I dont know how I kept my cool lol I'm raging :lol:

The main problem with the penalties seems that you get a penalty, give up loads of positions, then the people who gained positions think they deserved said positions and will do anything to stay up the grid even though they are miles off the pace. And so the viscois circle begins, it would seem the closer the skill level the better the race so maybe we need stricter ghosting in these races where theres a mixed group of ranked drivers :confused: The only positive out of this is I should have a few nice easy wins today while I grind back up the ranks. :D

Just arrived back, stayed off the game was raging in the daily races getting deliberately bashed off the track when ahead and getting penalised for it im at C C will get back to racing soon but if its all the same as before im out

I know the frustration but you're not without fault on any of those incidences so I wouldn't say you were robbed. In the first race, you definitely got illegally dive bombed but you still tried to continue your turning radius as if that inside driver wasn't there, and subsequently got the penalty for turning in on him.

The second race was really just an accident but you could see that the inside car was in trouble and out of control still recovering from hitting the wall. None of that deterred you from getting side by side with him though and then you tried to out brake an out of control car.

I'm not an expert of this lame "penalty system", but there was a name in orange when the penalty showed up, a driver from behind, not the divebomber from the inside line. Seems as if we were watching a different video...

Forgive me but I just needed a place to rant... my frustration with this penalty system is growing. I've recently started quitting races mid race, knowing full well the damage it does to my ratings (level 42 DR A/B SR S).

How is it still so broken... I've been obsessed with this game like no other but when I start quitting races I don't think it's a good sign.
 
They gotta fix this. It’s umm I don’t even have words for it. I’m was a high B low A in Dr and Sr S for the longest time. Since the update I’ve been sucked down by this system to a Dr D Sr E almost completely by others constantly divebombing corners and hitting my quarter panels or doors I race as clean as I possibly can and it still doesn’t matter seems like it’s almost impossible to climb out from these lower ranks with all the crappy driving dive bombers

The game must have decided you cut the track or had contact just before you went into the pits and it must have given you a penalty over 5 seconds, then as you were not serving it (because you clearly can't when in the pits), it started going up and up and up and you'll only notice once you exit the pits and since that can be quite a time on some tracks that may be why it was so high but of course I'm only guessing.
 
Yeah i got a 16sec penalty in the redbull jr race the other night for accelerating in a straight line ( rear ended) then i served it and raced the whole race by myself with a 25sec gap to the guy in front. Halfway through the race i got hit by a ghost (i mean an actual empty space with no car anywhere near me) and got a 5sec penalty for that. There were no lag issues all race so i was really confused. Those two incidents dropped me from SR S(99) to SR B(54) and i havent raced in sport mode since

How does that work?
I thought it reset to 50,000 ffs?
 
Another annoying thing I noticed yesterday is in one of the dirty races on Tokyo I ended up with 20 sec penalty after getting rammed into other cars twice in T1. I served it right after T2, pulled over to the gap on the right there, yet since people kept hitting each other ahead the yellow flag kept coming out. The penalty time stops going down when the yellow flag comes out. I was already in last and still 3 times the yellow flag stopped my penalty time going down. By the time that 20 seconds was finally gone I was far behind.

it happened to me yesterday in an fia race due to a whole bunch of bad luck and 1 mistake by me, seems like it's permanent dr loss now. which i'm not against the concept of but 15k+ at once is a bit steep. if you win a DR S race you might gain 1500 dr so that's realistically probably about 20 races to fix it

Why do you insist on racing at Tokyo? I have never touched it, because I know the sort of racing that will happen there.

Interlagos has been clean all day at DR:A SR:S for me, provided you drive to your surroundings. When people have moaned in chat, I have saved the replays and watched them back to see the moaner being the aggressor or trying to overtake when a move is just not on the cards, or making absolutely ridiculous decisions on track that just asks for trouble.

Because I like driving fast and that was the only fast option yesterday. Plus I'm good at the track, got 6 wins yesterday and 2K DR despite all the mishaps. I'll give Interlagos a try yet I'm not all that confident in it. My DR is too high for my abilities on that track so I'm destined to be stuck in the back where people have less to lose and take more risks.

Like trying to pass during the Senna S. People always cut weird angles towards the second apex when their exit speed should be their primary concern. I get bottlenecking at turn one, but the constant passing attempts through the chicanes are just bizarre.

I've had one at Brands.

Hit the X to stop refuelling, heard a bump, got an orange arrow and a two second penalty, all before I had chance to retake control of the car.

Do you think this is track specific?
