I totally did something stupid with my sound

It says when I hit begin fix, I have to reinstall the software...considering I most likely do not have the CD to do that with...should I just *shudders* go to the site and pray I find the right download?

As long as you know the model that your soundcard is you shouldn't have any problem finding the right driver software at Creative's website.

I have the problem occasionally that my cature card software mutes the volume, perhaps something you have is doing the same thing.

Always works for me. Might want to check that the speakers haven't come loose from the PC too by accidently kicking a wire with your foot or whatnot.


Edit: Delirious, have you tried doing a system restore if you have it enabled?

Stuff like that happens all the time with Windows boxes.

Is your computer set to sleep after periods of inactivity?

I just re-installed the program, I installed Freespace 2 and it installed some weird audio thing that did that (1st post ref.)
