Burglars tried to enter our neighbors house in the middle of the night a couple of years ago (not the deaf ones, but the neighbors on the other side). Luckily for them, their neighbor's son just came home from a night out and scared them away.
He never noticed anything though, because he was completely drunk.

The next day they told me i scared the burglars away:D

P.S., while finishing up my first post in this thread, I got a detention for "inappropriate computer usage", which, again, I'm not going to. Hopefully he won't get administration involved.

Man, you get a lot of those! At our school your parents get notified if you don't show up in detention, which isn't that big of a problem because my parents are not strict at all (okay, so maybe my dad is, but my mom handles school stuff mostly :)). However, they do make you sit out detention one way or another...

What do you think, is it normal to ask for an reward 5 years after the event occured??

Definitely!

My dad's dad use to leave his garage door open for hours, and stopped when stuff was stolen.

At the MX-6 shop(my bro's/friend's shop), someone broke in and stole a head and some other parts.

Chris, I've gotten 3 detentions in highschool, all by the same teacher, and nothing has happened. I think that he's too lazy to actually follow through on it. My mom does the school stuff too, and she is a tad stricter than my dad. My dad knows that school sucks so he's just like "you kinda need to do better, even if it sucks."

A happy family huh? :)

Ahh, lunch is almost over. See ya in 3 hrs!

My neighbours think I'm wierd, but they see what I do, and not why.

And then there are the hypocrites, like the one who wanted to have a go with my r/c car, then told all the neighbours I was a childish idiot for playing with toys. The fact that it cost more than the full-size car he bought for his daughter seems to escape him.

And he's the one who spent £20k on an Alfa 156, which now lives under a tarpaulin in his garage, because he's frightened that if he drives it, it'll depreciate it.

I mean, it's an Alfa, so if he drives it, it will fall apart, but depreciation's a given either way.

I don't understand. Why bother speaking to these weirdos that you leave near in the first place? Just because you're most likely in the same tax bracket, or appreciate the same neighborhood does not mean you need to speak!

Oh, you've visited us then?

Actually, those are only the pretentious nouveau-riche types around Wilmington, who like to pretend that they have been rich for 200+ years and have lived here for 200+ years like the DuPonts (yes, that DuPont) have. Those are the ones who aren't content to waste $45,000 on a Lexus SUV, and have to waste $90,000 on a Gelandenwagen just to prove they can.

The rest of us are pretty much just like everybody else.

 I suppose there's a few in every state. In Delaware it seems exaggerated though, since Delaware's not got the impression for being normal, what with the DuPonts, the really weird flat license plates, no sales tax, and then various population and area statistics, combined with the fact that the state believes for some reason that because they were first, they gain some sort of notoriety. I think the other Americans look at folks from Delaware as 'as close to Brits as you can get without going to Canada.'

my neighborhood isn't too bad... Aside from the fact that the neighbors across the street from me have at least 8 cars at one time, and during the summer, none of them are in the garage. They use the garage for the kids to dance in to have fun(about 8-10 kids, more than 1 family lives in this house, and it's a small house, 1 floor+basement)
During the summer, they blast mariache music as loud as their cars can handle, and they repaire rust on their cars by painting over the rust spots with spray paint.

My next door neighbors are bad, but they've gotten better. Their dog use to bark all the time, and it still does bark whenever ANYBODY walks through my backyard, because the dog's fenced in their yard. Their dog constantly escapes their fenced yard year round because they refuse to repaire the wood fence. There's a woman and her youngest daughter that lives in the house consistantly, where the woman's husband/boyfriend(not sure really) lives between his apartment and their house. During the summer, their boat is half on my yard all the time, and the oldest daughter always has a different man 10 years older than her spending two weeks or more at their house.

Other than those two houses, my block's fairly decent, with the exception that there's nobody for me to hang out with. There's a neighbor that is 2 years old than me, but he's strange, thinks he's really cool but is annoying as hell, and there is 1 kid my age(actually, 1 year older, 16) but his family is moving out of our middle-class neighborhood to a new lot they're building on by a lake, so they're moving to the lower-upper class(In my city, there's the lower class, middle class, lower-upper class(houses costing about $400,000US-$800,000US) and the upper-upper class(houses costing at least 1million)
We also have one of the largest malls in the world, and the largest mall in America, but that's about it.
