Sometimes you have the perfect car for an online race...but you performed weight reduction on it and it won't fit the restrictions. Wouldn't it be nice to add weight to your car so you could still use it?

You should be allowed to remove any mod put onto a car. It is a game after all.

Yes, I'd like that too! But without knowing the car weight distribution precisely (and not only being able to estimate it in a very inaccurate way with the drivetrain info like in GT4) it would only be yet another half-done and confusing setting. On this regard, they could use several ideas from the LFS car setup screen (oh, but true, Yamauchi never had a look at other racing games/simulators).

I hate this restriction also.. now it seems you dont tune cars on GT but destroy them.. I have about 50 destroyed cars in my garage with this sort of tuning that cant be undone.. sucks very much indeed!

it seems PD desided that if you remove from a car weight like seats or dashboard or something similar. then you remove it with hammer and burn it on fire! in real life I would leave all componets in my garage! I hope PD fix this!

PS- Performance points will be back in GT5 from prologue.. so it should fix it sort of! still I doubt it will!

If performance points are implemented the same way as prologue (just weight, hp and tires) then it will hurt the game more then it helps. They also need to go through each car and make sure it has the correct base performance points assigned to it or we will end up with single cars that will dominate the class they are in.

This and Air restrictors.

It's really annoying when I cannot enter a race because I'm 10kg too light or 1hp off the max regulation:mad:

I hope it's fixed in the 1.06 update, with the PP system added.

In GT4 we could move weight front to rear. Where did THAT setting go? I'd like to see it come back.

I feel the exact same way, which is why I almost never do the permanent modifications (weight reduction, etc.).

I race with friends once a week where we specify max hp, min weight, and tire type. Cars that I tune for these events I paint white; I don't paint any other cars white so I can tell which cars are "destroyed" when browsing throug my garage.

Also, I often host an online room with 300 hp max and 1200 kg min restrictions. Lots of people join the room, try to enter several of there cars, and then leave the room because they can't meet the weight restriction.

We would really benefit from being able to undo weight reductions or add weight to cars.

I'm probably one of them. I have several cars that are in the 300hp range but most are pretty light like my '86 MR2. It seems like the lobby leader is always at an advantage because they can set the weight to fit their car and then add/remove mods to adjust hp.

I guess I'll just have to buy a bunch of the same cars and add varying amounts of weight reduction to them so I have more options to choose from as the restrictions change. :ouch:
