Note: I've been keeping up with you guys conversations on the subject of people staying around for the whole championship. In my opinion I believe that these JGTC series ran by ICGTC, Pure, and others will be the dominating racing league series in the near future! I also believe there will be a point a which people will be fighting to get a seat on the grid, because these series are the best managed & scrutinized series available. Give it the the end of this year and Erik will have to start running a 2nd division just to keep up with all the traffic. Of course there are going to be drivers who sign and not drive, but we will eventually weed them out, with drivers from division 2 ready to feel those seats. Just a little more time and patience's before we start dealing with a over populated series, opposed to empty grid spots. What also makes this series intriguing is that All-star race that was available last year where 4 of the top drivers were selected from each JGTC series to participate in 1 Allstar enduro race last year. There's your motivation for being good, and showing up consistently! I wasn't here last 2 seasons, but I believe the ICGTC leagues is still growing bigger from the last time it was lauched! 👍

i MIGHT not make it for saturdays race, i hope i do but something has come up last minute i have to do.. luckily after this i have 2 races i can participate in before i get onto my flight.. & won't participate for 2 races apparently.. but lets hope everything goes to plan and so i can take my car to the grid this saturday..

and a question to erik.. if someone cannot participate & has ballast in that race.. does he have ballast for the next race also or will it be removed, of course not completely but just...? wanted to know that..

It's funny because when I started this whole thing up in early 2011 GTPlanet was flooded with SuperGT leagues. I honestly think there were at least seven or so SuperGT leagues, but I could be wrong.

Our average race turnout has gone from 7-8 to 9-10 to 12-14 through each of ICGTC's three seasons respectively. Awesome work by all 👍

See that's what I'm talking about!

Just fixing the list ;)

The ballast stays

What would you guys say is more important fast lap times, or longer tire wear?

It depends, if you can go long, but not long enough to skip one pit stop I would go back to faster lap times.
But if you can stay out long enough to skip a pit stop I would go for that.

Also depends on how much time you lose doing a longer stint.

Joe on the subject of fast lap times or better tire wear , it all depends on track , I managed a 3rd at Tokyo and my best lap was a 1 36 5 I think , that's very slow but I only came 3rd doing a 2 stop. In retrospect a 3 stop with the Soft tire would have been better for me .
In SSR5 the tire wear strategy worked but it didn't work at Tokyo , I think Tokyos pit stops were shorter compared to SSR5 and that's why my strategy didn't work ..

Yes Maxi you could be right about the Ballast affecting cars more at Spa . I think your right.

My car just feels very slow here , even in 6th gear and drafting you and Erik yesterday it takes forever to hit the limiter and I was still using my Tokyo gear ratios .

I didn't think 10 extra kg would hurt that much , I'm at 1160 kg for this race .

I was also experimenting with low downforce yesterday and it seems to work well here but if it rains it will make me cry .

Spa is a great track but for some reason the way I setup my cars it just doesn't work on this track , I use 1st gear more than any other driver I think in this series and 1st gear is not the gear to be using at Spa , its making me spin out everytime .

So this week I have a lot of setup work to do if I want some good points .

good i can join spa most likely so should be able to start my practicing as early as tonight or tomorrow.. can't wait!

I wonder what times NSX drivers do...Arkano?

I don't have time to practise during the week, but I did a few laps on Sunday and got some 2:16's if I recall correctly.

I expect lots of pit stops at Spa , tire wear is bad especially the rears . That might hurt the NSX , I hope. Falcon has a nice lead in 1st .

That's usually my logic, but I feel like what Skeng said about the low delta pit lane times at Tokyo. I did a 3 stopper like most of the field, but I believe Troy lee for certain, and maybe Greyfox did a 4 stopper with those Nsx's last Saturday, and they went right around me in the end. So know my main focus is pitting when the tires are shot vs Riding out a couple more laps on shot tires to perserve 1 extra pit stop. I will ad that for the race that I put the most practice into, I ended up having the slowest best lap out of the whole field, and I thought I was flying around there.

I will get to the bottom of this!

Thanks for your input fellas,. my current avg time around Spa is in the 2:14.xxx's as of now'

I am very strong around Spa in the NSX SkengD, so you'll have your work cut out.

I will need a miracle to get a podium finish this weekend , I'm aiming for 4th.

I'm thinking about taking Troylee approach to pitting since the pit delta time is shorter here than other tracks? I'll know for sure after proper simulations.

I haven't tested the pit time in spa yet , I haven't ran many laps , I'm not even sure how many laps I can get on the medium tire .

Its a 28 lap race , so I'd love to do a 3 stop :)

All of my tests it has rained to 100 pct , this looks like its gonna be Suzuka all over again , I hope not I am like Massa in the rain , spin cycle .

I am in the ICGTC lounge now and on TeamSpeak

EDIT : offline now

Now I'm there, (the ICGTC lounge)

Ok it's a bit better with an oil change. But I had to go off, got visitors here.

Yeh ill be online soon , I'm actually in the lounge now but not practicing at the moment

Yea so I ran 2 pit stop simulations and I was surprised to find that both pit stop strategies! where the same. Here are the results!

Spa @ 12 Laps

2 Pit Stop: | Every 4th Lap

Grn Flap Lap | 2:19.976
Pit In Lap | 2:24.547
Pit Out Lap | 2:38.768
Best Lap 2:16.152
Finish Lap | 28:09.xxx

1 Pit Stop | On the 6th Lap

Grn Lap | 2:21.664
Pit In Lap | 2:19.341
Pit Out Lap | 2:36.378
Best Lap | 2:15.075
Finish Lap | 28:07.xxx

Only a 2 second difference. So which 1 do you pick?

How would you describe those two runs Joe? I would expect you to go quicker on new tyres after 9 laps worth of fuel than you would after 7. You were the other way around and by quite a bit as well.

Yes Joe your test result is a little different than most would have predicted.

The only data I can take from it is the pit stop is about 15 - 17 seconds long here

Fuel does seem to burn faster here than at the previous 5 tracks we have raced or I could just be going crazy .

New personal best of 2 14.265 ran by me today . Getting my setup together but still eating up my rear tires like chicken nuggets :(

Yea you're right about the fuel burn off, but I believe I ran faster the second time out due to the fact that my exp per lap was enabling me to run quicker times as the session progressed. My second session was ran right after my first session so it would make sense that that's why I had quicker times next round out. I'm not fully sure if that answer your question or not?

I just found out that I have the heaviest car for the race. I guess it will make for a good battering ram :) Ive been doing some 215s consistently with even tire wear. Its going to be all about the weather though.

I'm going to make a party for my birthday(which was 2 weeks ago) at saturday at around 17:00GMT
I'm not sure I will participate. :(

It does thanks. It makes sense that you would get quicker with practise.

@ zzxxz

Did you catch that 1st WSBK race this past weekend?

There was a kid in the 600cc class that kept looking over his shoulder all race, was the guy you where talking about in the Moto Gp tread?

whats the best time around here..? so far my 1st couple of practice laps with the ballast was about 2.13.6xx, some intensive tuning today has to happen for me!
