Nope. Nascar in this game is pretty lame. First gear through tight corners almost always results in a spin. Those cars are way too powerful for the lower gears

They have so much power, and are so heavy, that without some kind of electronic driver aid, they are amazingly difficult to get from slow to fast.

I watched the first nascar event I've seen in many years a couple of days ago at a roadcourse, and it was amazing how even the pros have difficulty handling these things.

They might as well fill the cockpit with bees and Lazytown music to make it more difficult.

I honestly (and oddly) wouldn't mind more NASCAR in the game, but I'm not a fan in real life, and need to rant on this for a bit... I really don't understand the amount of sheer NASCAR coverage on tv here in the US compared to say F1, the US doesn't send but one single person to each F1 race for interviews trackside (other announcers do it live from the states), but we get NASCAR coverage 24hrs a day. I get that NASCAR is the American thing and we don't want to be bothered with that worldly stuff, but NASCAR drivers are kinda like the bowlers or golfers of the "sport" community, they don't necessarily have to be in shape to compete, and I just don't think can drive at the same level. I mean Daytona is flat out the whole way around, all they do is steer left, the outcome of the race isn't so dependent on how well you drive every lap but how lucky you are to fall to the front. Also I get that they're loud, raw cars, but from a technology standpoint the phone I'm typing this on is far more advanced. I guess I just don't get the fascination.

Still, they can be enjoyable to take around for a few laps in the game, and since they're such a small part of it I don't get burnt out on them. Bring on a seasonal but give me some rally too to balance it out.

A-****ing-men bro

There are plenty of NASCAR lobbies online and I like them. No real need for another NASCAR seasonal yet.

I'd rather see a Trans Am style race for the RM Camaros, Challengers, Grand Am vettes, etc.

I got an idea... NO!!! the NASCAR is the second worst Idea Kaz has ever come up with. First being the new b-spec. Seriously the NASCAR portion of this game almost made me slit my own wrists. It has no place in a GT racing type game. :fail:

Not a fan but will race them if we have to. The thing with NASCAR, f1 races is that the AI will have the same pp and bhp as we do.

I'm not a big fan of NASCAR... in fact... I hate it... but I'd like any seasonal that involves race cars... :)

Sounds like someone needs to learn throttle control ,or maybe shift a gear Hmmm you think?:dopey:

So many cant drive at the same level? Tony stewart raced a full nascar race, Then flew in and raced the indy 500 a couple years ago. He also races sprints and modifieds on dirt.. And as for them not having to be in shape? Read some time at talladega they can lose up to 20 pounds from sweating from the heat they endure. And turning left always? they do a few road courses a year .. what about the earnhardts driving on the corvette team at the 24 hours of lemans? You sir need to learn about it before posting nonsense .
And no one would force anyone to play the seasonals if they did make it. I for one probably wouldn't . But I still respect the ability it takes to drive one of those cars. As they say if it was easy everyone would be doing it. So get off your arse and get a sponsership if its so easy and prove me wrong

I'd love a NASCAR seasonal. You have to admit that the cars, like them or not, are VERY different from just about everything else.

They'd need to include Daytona, Indy, and Laguna of course...but then things could get interesting. Monaco anyone? :)

Sure, NASCAR drivers have more talent than me, I don't deny that, but so does John Daly driving a golf ball, and he downs Dunkin donuts every day and probably couldn't run a mile to save his life.

A couple road courses per year does not make a talented driver. I maintain that any F1 driver could go to NASCAR and be about as competitive as Montoya, but not a single NASCAR driver could stand a chance the other way around.

Thats probably true, But I would rather cut grass than watch F1 racing, F1 seems like an open wheel version of nascar to me. Run around the same course a number of laps and the smartest team wins , Give me a good rally, Theres where the drivers are at :dopey:

NASCAR is foot to the floor, left, left, left....and have you ever watched them do their road courses? It's the only ones I'll watch because how horrifically bad they are at it... It's comical. I'm not doubting their talent, they can drive. A couple drivers aside, Stewart being one of em' they are terrible when put up next to a formula, touring, heck, even a pro rally driver. Don't fool yourself. The talent isn't in the driver, it's in the technical team. Danica Patrick said it last week, "if you have a good car, you win. If you have a bad car, you lose. Period. Doesnt matter how hard u drive. "

You may think Nascar is just "turn left".

But even a millisecond lost after you turned left for positioning could mean seconds after the corner.

Not only this, but the NASCAR drivers are pressured into staying in extremely worn tyres, so much in fact it's like driving on ice.

Precision and forward thinking is needed to even be an amateur at NASCAR. I'm not a massive fan myself, but it is extremely difficult to perfect.
