Ideal drift settings/options for GT5P discussion

with my limited experience with gt, Ive been grip driving in all gt series so Im new to the whole drifting scene gt5 has to offer.

can someone knowledgeable in this area help point me towards the right direction for beginners as far as settings are concerned?

I use the g25 with H Shifting and clutch. here are my questions. And thnx in advance!

1. which setting should i use for the general wheel option menu for g25? simulation, amateur, professional? power assist? power steering? Do any of these options actually have any effect to the ways cars drive? because i didnt notice any change!

2. Compared to the pro physics, is standard physics mode just inaccurate and trashy for drifting and driving in general ? what if i set the wheel option to amateur but driving physics to pro?

3. which tyre? and do any cars actually benefit from having different tyres for front and rear?

4. As a beginner, I want to start practicing drifting with my R34 skyline. Is this recommended? or is there an easier car?

I know there are lots of 1337 drift pros on this forum. any tips advice would be greatly appreciated. :)

And I'm SERIOUSLY wondering which wheel and tyre/physics setting he's using.

1] The wheel setting is only for the DF, not DFP or G25. Power assist and power steering i have set to off. It probably makes steering a little easier at lower speeds. Just use what you feel comfortable with.
2] I prefer to use sim physics because well this is a simulator, I didnt buy it for the arcade physics.
3] For learning, stay with the same tire type front and rear. Generally I stick with the N2 or N3's myself. N2 on lower hp cars, and N3 for anything over 340 really.
4] Go and buy the Fairlady Z, it is an easy car to drift with. It has just enough power for a beginner. AWD cars are not that beginner friendly.

hey thanx for the tip. im still wondering wut power assist and power steering does though. In my opinion power assist made the wheel's counter steer feel more natural

Seems like a good place to ask this question instead of starting a new thread .

With the inclusion of a separate Drift Trial mode in GTHD.
And the fact that the Drifting culture has grown .

Do you think there is a chance of something similar in GT5 ?
Meaning we're going to have to learn to drit to complete the game 100%

i drift alot tires will have a very big effect on how you drift, tho i do disagree that 4wd isnt user friendly i do agree u shouldnt use it the style is very diffrent and the longer you use it the harder it is to get into Rwd, set the phyics to sim not arcade and turn your assists off, pretty much any of the rwd nissans are good cars to start with, miss-matching tires can help on some cars if they are prone to understeering (mustangs ect), rule of thumb is less power=worse tires ive goten the cappucchino drifting with the N1, gt grass is evil keep the rear tires out of it, i cant really help you on the stuff bout the wheel, other then that i dont think i have much else to say aside from stick with 1 car on 1 track so you can learn the limits of a car going sideways w/o having to adapt to track conditions your not familier with or a car that will behave oddly

IMO if you are looking to get great at drifting, do not stagger your tires. Use the same compound front and rear. Learn to control the under/oversteer as they are different in all cars.
I hope there is no drift mode in the final GT5 release. I disagree with how GTHD 'judged' drifting. A computer cant judge style.

i agree bout the tires for the most part i use crap 1s in back tho on us cars sence thry r prone 2 understeer, and id like drifting 2 come in the full game ONLY if there is tandeming

Talking about Driving Settings, etc, etc...

I have a question for the community :sly:

Can y conect my PC joystic (y use like handbrake) in my PS3?

Is compatible with PS3 and GT5 Prologue software, and with G25 too?

Thanks, regards
