If I hear the word grinding again?

The problem with that is that's grinding, and it isn't really open to individual interpretation.

Still grinding. Like I said, doesn't matter how you want to rationalize it but if you're okay with doing it then that's perfectly fine - you're just playing the classic "I enjoy it, so how can it be considered grinding?" card.

Has this argument ever worked for anyone?

It's a serious question. If you consider playing GT5 "grinding" i.e. doing the same repetative thing over and over again with no enjoyment what so ever then why exactly are you playing GT5?

I have waaaaay too many things that I can be doing with my life to waste it playing a video game I am not enjoying. I have bought more than a few games in my time that I thought were dull and whilst I could finish them it would just be "grinding" out the finish.......know what I did? I stopped playing them and moved on to something else.

If GT5 feels like a grind then just stop playing it. Seriously...... lifes too short to waste playing a game you are not enjoying.

Really?? I agree it is fun to do time trials on the Ring, but there a 0 "races" in GT5 that are fun, the A.I. ensure that. There are only a few that are challenging, not because the A.I. are better, but because they get artificial boosts to handling and acceleration.

I thought the Lamborghini race would be competitive, but I entered a 70hp increased LP 640 and watched as the same version of the car in the A.I.'s hands accelerated away from me on the straights, just stupid. Make them take corners at reasonable speeds and it would be fun maybe.

I began grinding as soon as I put GT5 in and had to wait 45 mins for it to install, and have wasted 100s of hours since then in loading screens, it all grinding all the time.

We obviously have different versions of the game since I have been able to find plenty of races that I have found fun. Granted sometimes car selection is a very large part of that.

I spent last night running the 4 hour Nurburgring endurance for the 5th time. How that race can be described as anything other than fun is just beyond me. It's hardly the only one.

On the subject of "grinding" vs "playing the game".

I have been playing GT4 from the day it was released until the day GT5 came out. Here was me thinking that I was "playing the game" and having a damn good time doing it. Who knew that infact I was spending 5 years "grinding" ;)

Why does what other people do make you angry? If people choose to do the same race over and over for whatever reason how does that affect your gaming experience to the point of angering you?

Cause people bitch alot and thats what makes me angry. If its not grinding then its protesting patch 1.07. Big ****ing deal

I don't mind grinding. It's just that it gets boring after awhile. However, I still have fun doing it.

In my opinion a huge element in the GT series is grinding.
Sure, you can make it without grinding for money/xp but for many people who want to collect cars it is useful...
Honestly how can you play a game with 1000+cars without at least driving a couple hundred? And by a couple hundred I don't mean Kei cars and 500s :nervous:

I take grinding as something normal...and my schedule doesn't allow me to earn credits by simply climbing up the ladder. 👍

Gran Turismo 5 the real grinding simulator.

As someone pointed out to me earlier, the grinding is 100% real. :D

The "grind" refers to just having to do the same thing over and over and over and over, ad nauseum, just to get the rewards/XP.

Of course, when it comes to doing the X2010 @ Indy with the rubberband trick, it also means you're just grinding the car along the walls... Brings a whole new meaning to "grinding", eh?

Im going about this all wrong. Im acting like its other peoples fault but really its PD's fault for not making a bigger and more expansive game.

So you felt the need to start a whole new thread just to bitch a lot about people bitching a lot? What if your bitching makes ME angry? Would you stop bitching if I told you that?

Irony can be ironic, eh?

ETA: That was meant in jest. Sarcasm doesn't travel well on message boards. :)

Dont be a 🤬, you 🤬

Language, my friend! Try using the emoticons, such as 🤬
Mods will be all your 🤬 if you don't. Just a heads up.

And you might want to read over that AUP again.

I think 98% of the people that have purchased GT5 feel that everyone else that has also purchased GT5 have to feel exactly the same as they do about the game. They have to play it the same way as they do or they are not doing it right. The level of intolerance on these boards about how someone chooses to use a product they paid for just baffles me. Talking politics and religion with you people would be my 8th level of hell.

As the target of his remark, I found it hilarious. I took it in jest, in the spirit I'm sure it was posted!
