Ah. So they aren't gonna fix the problems that plague the car then, and instead are going to flash a big horsepower number in our faces and hope we don't notice the car is still flawed on so many levels?
Rock on, Ford. Rock on.
Ford: swing-and-a-miss. Again.
I'll take banana yellow with black stripes... Thanks...
And yet again I point out that this is a Shelby model, NOT a Ford model. Yes, Shelby strapped his name to the 'standard' GT500 as well as the Shelby GT, but this is an independent model...
Except when that 700hp isn't properly put to the road, I can't imagine the car is overly fun to drive. In the words of Top Gear..."It's fun in the same way being shot at is fun".
Dude calm down, I've never said anything about the 500hp. I'm appalled by the fact that the Mustang still has a live rear axle which is awful in corners. You can't put a ton of power in a car and neglect the suspension. I could careless if the GT500 had only 400hp, it's still to much with that crappy of a suspension. That's why I hate it, and I made no comment about the power so why you brought that up is beyond me.
Drag cars are idiotic, people want cornering ability in this day and age, cars can be American, fast in a straight line, and fast in the corners...the Z06 proves this, I'm sure the Camaro will be the same way, along with the Challenger. There are several fast straight line cars with great cornering.
Just another overweight, ill handeling, overpowered us produced piece of....yuck!!
They weren't meant to be a good handling car when they were introduced but times change and car need to evolve to stay competitive. I don't understand why they can't ditch the live rear axle or at least redesign it so the car handles decently well. The Rousch Mustangs that they put racing suspension in are fine, I mean they are no Miata running around but at least you won't die going into a corner.
My opinion weather you like it or not.And I wasn't personally attacking anyone.Drag cars may be idiotic to you and some others but it is still a lively market and people do spend alot of money in that segment. The Mustang was never meant to go around corners, and neither was the Camaro. Why can't people just accept this and move on. The new Mustangs are outselling almost everything except pickup trucks here in American, that must mean they are worth something. Why can't the people that hate these Mustangs just accept them for what they are and move on.
You came in here just to piss me and the others who like this car off. I call that trolling, and if you were on any forum I moderate/administrate or you'd be quickly removed.

In reply to above posts, lack of the independent rear suspension was due to the cost, not because Ford thought the car didn't need it. The decision was made to keep the cost low, and leave plenty of profit margin for Ford. Way Ford is struggling, I think it was a wise choice. It also does keep the MSRP reasonable....Get over it people, its a MUSCLECAR. Its not supposed to turn. Thats what the BOSS and Z/28 models are for...
That is such bull****. I see you are of the opinion that the GT500 doesn't actually have 500bhp? What the hell ever. Nothing with 700bhp is a bad thing. And who gives a **** about taking this around corners, IT IS A BLOODY DRAG CAR.
GOD I CAN'T stand the GT500 haters, I really can't. It's a collectable drag car people, jesus ****ing christ.
Even the last generation of F-bodies aren't bad, my buddy has a Formula that he races and it holds it's own pretty good for being stock.

Then explain to me why there's a FR500GT in the FIA GT3?
Oh wait, it's best place so far has been 26th. You must be right.
Ahem.
