Practicality: Subaru Legacy GT-B

Why? I admittedly am a bit of a wagon fanatic. Coupled with the snow that comes around these parts quite often in the winter, the carrying capacity, four-wheel-drive and decent fuel mileage (I think) add up to my favorite wagon, and really the most useful choice.

Less practical and more... ignorant of things like fuel mileage... Mazda Eunos Cosmo (JCESE, 20B-REW triple-rotor.)

If I actually had one of these, with the money to pay for gas... I would truly drive it forever. Appealing to me in an odd & unique way... I really can't explain it well.

Third possibility... Nissan Skyline GT-R (R32)

Really the same deal as with the Cosmo - can't explain it. I prefer this one over the R33 and R34, another thing I can't really explain.

A 1986 Volvo 240 dl. Best car I ever driven. Wish I still had too. But unfortunately, got in a car accident and it got totaled.

This one. The answer to all car related questions is Miata. Thinking of having kids and need a four door? Don't. Need to haul stuff? Don't. Need to get from point A to point B with a smile on your face? Now you may grab the pebble from my hand. Checkout the vid to see (and hear) an unusual V8 swap using a rare Lexus V8.

I think my ideal choice would be a Mercedes-Benz S550 with an AMG sport package (for the minor handling enhancements), but bodykitted as a normal S-Class, because the AMG models don't look as classy. I'd prefer a pre-facelift model with the naturally-aspirated 5.5 liter V8 just for the sake of a bit more simplicity and less trouble after hundreds of thousands of miles. Being a renowned Autobahn-stormer, this car handle any speed limit increases the future might see. Hopefully the future promises more cheap gas for its thirsty V8. Despite being introduced in 2006, the W221 still looks modern today. Next to the newest crop of Benzes, it still looks good, and in black, white or silver, it should stay looking good for years. When something breaks, I can order the part directly from Mercedes (after selling a kidney to pay for it).

All those gadgets will be a nuisance after the first hundred thousand miles, but the only things I really care about are what's essential to using the car, as well as the radar cruise control (a godsend) and the stereo. The Harmon-Kardon system Mercedes puts in their car sounds good enough that I won't have to replace it with a gaudy aftermarket stereo in the future. I'd imagine this car's safety would still be relevant for a while compared to new cars in the future. Any car you're going to be spending extended amounts of time in should be comfortable, and the W221 has that in spades. As long as it's kept clean (something almost every secondhand luxury car buyer neglects to do), this car will continue to impress for years to come.

Assuming I can use rental vans or trucks if I need to move or carry stuff to the dump, probably a wagon of some sort. Not a CTS-V because that's a bit much for the rest of my life but one of the new V60 Polestar wagons would be amazing. 5 series wagon perhaps.

If I could never rent a different car it would probably be an SUV or truck of some sort but I don't know enough about them to say off the top of my head. Maybe an F150 Lightning.

I find the case you make very compelling for some reason. Ok, I second this motion. :)

Before you ask, yes, I'm serious. I don't think I can point out anything I dislike about this car. It literally possesses every characteristic I enjoy in a car.

1. Great gas mileage.
2. Great looks. (In my opinion. It actually reminds me of a beefed up Cappuccino.)
3. Rugged. It's no truck, but I'm sure it would handle the snow and trails I'd put it through, especially with that short wheelbase.
4. Sporty-ish: It's small and light enough to be agile and quick in the turns, and maybe even in a straight line with the right tuning and modifications.
5. Simple. The interior may not mimic that of a Lexus, but it certainly strikes my interest. The small engine also makes for easier maintenance.
6. It's a Suzuki. You should already know by now that I love them, why would this car be an exception?

I love those things. Shame that idiots use them a lot as "junk" cars in demo derbies and monster truck rallies and such. Same with other "joke" cars like Beetles and anything that doesn't have a big o' V8.

I like the Jag, but it wouldn't be my only car for the rest of time. It'd be more of a nice rental.

Assuming I will always be economically viable to maintain it and I won't develop symptoms of chronic back pain:

Unrealistic? Turns out I can't even get my hands on it sometime in the future?

Well, I'll still be more than happy to keep driving my current car, a 2013 VW Jetta GLI, until it's time for me to leave.

If I was stuck with 1 car that would mean it would also have to be driven in snow, any climate, and possibly offroad. That limits the vehicle to AWD for sure. So with that said I would lean toward these decisions:

Audi R8 V10 (AWD)
Nissan GTR (AWD)
Subaru Impreza STI (AWD)
Or maybe some sort of 4x4 truck / SUV.

Depends on where exactly we are going with these cars we are stuck with the rest of our life.

That was a NASCAR spec Daytona, and I'm pretty sure there was a 200mph car before it.
The first was in 1927 supposedly and it hit 203 mph (according to Wikipedia, could be fake info) But that was purpose built and not road legal. Even thought the Daytona was a race car, it was still productionish. It was still powered by the legendary 426 HEMI, and in my mind it still holds the title of first 200 mph car, as well as the title of "Most Beautiful Car ever made by 'Murica"
