Ignored Cars

Not ignored but certainly underutilized is the Caddilac Cien Concept. Front and rear downforce and great balance and handling make it a great road racer in the 600pp range but I've never seen it in a race other than the Daytona Oval in a max hp situation. VW Nardo is the same, insanely quick at 600pp but rarely used. Zonda C12 at 550pp. Fantastic handling if you can tune it well and fast in a straight line.

I rarely see anyone drive an Eclipse. I love Eclipses. There even better once you properly tune them.

Whats the point of having standard Skyline GTR's if every model got a V-spec ...
Same with the Many others.
- why buy a GTO Twin turbo '95 if we got the '98 Last and lightest model ...
- why should i buy a stock standard S2000 ? we got premium one and some nice amuse...
- Whats up with the lexus/skyline (the one with the squashed beetle look and snow plow handling) why so many versions ?
- And then u see Wagon R super XX2 turbo special limited edition (or something :p )
and u go look and its a 60 hp lunchbox on wheels kei crap car ... DJEEEEES !

WTF do lexus and skyline have to do with each other?

Kubelwagen, Toyota Sprinter Trueno, Mazda Lantis, Eagle Talon and Mitsubishi Eclipse.

I've been looking for the Eagle Talon forever. At one point, I wondered if it was really in the game. I want one! :D

I've probably got about 50 different GT-Rs that I'm ignoring because I only need four.

The list of incredible cars that, if they were released as DLC and didn't come with the game originally, would be extremely popular:

Ford GT LM Spec II Test Car
GT by Citroën Race Car

I only recently discovered the Ford GT. It's hard to express just how awesome this car is. So fast and so fun to drive. It's just so smooth.

I got one and drive it in game and in rl :) ( light blue metalic 1600 '71 )

Also got the honda crx del sol in black as I have this one in rl also :)
You drive a Karmann Ghia in real life?
I'm buying one in real life this summer, because that's the only part of the year where I have time to do stuff. I hope I find a nice one in red with no rust issues. :D

I think I must be one of the few people who uses the MGF and the MG TF160. I love using them and I think they're quite good cars. I own about 5 or 6 of them. I'd love more MG's and Rover's to be included in the game, but sadly, they don't seem to be that popular amongst the general public. :(

I also think the classic rally cars get neglected a bit. I don't think I've ever noticed anyone using the '74 Lancer rally car, the Starion or the Nissan Bluebird (510) rally car.

TF160 is a blast stock and well-tuned. Plus, it looks downright incredible with just a little too much rear camber as the tires stick out a bit when stock.

As for the topic at hand, I ignore nothing and am constantly finding new cars to play around with or just plain leave alone and enjoy as-is. Polyphony Digital Cup ftw...anything goes (save for the Ferrari F1's but that's another topic entirely) and decent credits can be earned as long as your car can keep up.

All rally cars

Autobacs ARTA Garaiya '08 and the Lexus Weds Sport is350. pretty much all of the GT300 cars are underused/not talked about. They're fantastic to drive though; not particularly fast, but very nimble and quick

Gt300 is all i drive from 525-575 pp online

But it is a shame they arent utilized that much. probably the most fun cars in the game to drive. So nimble, amazing brakes, near impossible to spin out, but not too fast. perfect

Underutilized? How bout the Ferrari F1 cars. Can't race with em if there's anything BUT Ferrari F1 cars in the field, there's no normal races that use em (we had that seasonal for a while, but its gone now), and really they're pretty much worthless because of those 2 points.

A personal favorite of mine, going back to GT4, is the Daihatsu Storia X4. Nobody ever drives it, but very lightly tuned it can hang with and even beat cars such as the Audi RS6 Avant, Benz C class, and the newer Mustangs & Camaros. I love that we can finally have it in a color other than white too :D

Maserati GranTurismo S
I just redeemed the one I won from an event and it really surprised me because I have read negative things from several motoring sites on the standard GranTurismo.
The gearchange is unbearably slow and the rear damping feels over-soft, but it is well balanced and predictable with good steering feedback and confidence.
Another one of the cars I'd like to mention is the Honda CRZ, it's setup really well for an FF hybrid and feels really good.
Not sure if the 2010 XKR and C5 Z06 are ignored, but they're great too and handle surprisingly sporty. I actually prefer the C5 Z06 to the C6 ZR1.

Because MG's haven't been any good for decades now, and were mainly warmed up versions of rubbish cars, Metro, Meastro (Was fast in the day), Montego, 45, 75 etc.
Maybe they rusted away in the 5 years it took to make the game, lol.

Where's the Ford XR's, RS's, Mk2 Escorts, Mexico's etc. The Vauxhall SRi's, GTE's and GSi's?

GT300 is the perfect blend of speed and handling and are always great close racing online!

This is the very reason I am determined to drive every single car in the game - as seen in my photo gallery. Problem is I have started with the standards, working my way slowly through some 800 cars, so I haven't even touched my lovely DLC models yet.

The bonus is that I have found some real hidden gems amongst the standards that I would not have dreamed of :)

Have to take issue with that - the Metro/Maestro/Montego-based versions weren't great, but reviews for the ZR/ZS/ZT were often very positive in the press and they're bargains these days. Ditto the MG F/MG TF (which wasn't based on anything, let alone something "rubbish"). And you'd be surprised how many professional car journalists I speak to on a daily basis that like the Rover 75 - that was far from a rubbish car.

They don't really rust, either, at least the later ones. So in fact, very little of your post had any basis in reality.

Ironically, it's the Vauxhalls you mentioned that were both crap and generally rusty these days. And the Fords were great - but still rusty.

Though I'd agree with XPOWER that the MG models in the game are ignored - I don't think I've driven either yet. Always been more of an MX5 man than an MGF man.

One thing that gets ignored by me is the GTO 5.7 Coupe

I see lots of people driving it {Before my ps3 broke lol}
But to me its never used.

I know that some said the Sprinter Trueno, but I agree. Both the Corolla Levin and the Sprinter Trueno are ignored. I use them both very frequently.

There are tons of standards that are ignored so I will point out a premium that I dont see online much...that is the MP4-12C. This car is absolutely beautiful in both style and performance. I dont think it quite gets the love it deserves. I think a big reason many dont use it is because the rival 458 brings more attention....especially with that big Ferrari name and styling. I personally use the 12C more than the 458 and can consistently run better lap times than with the Italia (this is tuned for both). I have not tested both in stock tune though but, I will say the PP is higher on the 12C. But, man...do I love the Italia too.

I think the Acura NSX RM gets ignored by everyone but me. I own the stock red one and thinking about getting the blue also.

I think the 1966 Shelby Cobra is ignored a little too much except in muscle car races. I love that car, I got it tuned up perfect to beat even the 458 Italia. in the 550 to 600 PP range, this car can't be touched. Only loss on my record for this car was a Honda NSX type R on Monza at 550 PP. It out handled my cobra so much that the insane straight line speed couldn't reel it back in.

I have not seen anyone use an amuse carbon R 34.

I have an NSX RM, I love it, did a few runs of the grand valley endurance race in it because its so nice to drive

You should try it on road course Indy. It's awesome. I was beating gtrs.

.

I love the TF160, I have a Sienna Yellow (=gold) looks cool and drives as well. GT5 lacks European cars that you'd see everyday, so I am very happy these two cars are in the game, just need an MGB GT and Midget now!

Agreed, such sweet handling, it does exactly what you want it to.

The panoz esperante race car? Bit down on power but handles a treat if well set up, plus it's got the bonus of those bad ass looks :) I've never seen anyone use one...
