After blowing up the Power supply and the motherboard 3 weeks ago, I finally have a working PC again

Thanks to a faulty surge protection power board I had to fork out AUS$500 to get the bloody thing fixed

Dam dude, I am sorry to hear that. I hate it when I blow motherboards. . . working on number 9 now. Now I think your next big investment should be a UPS that covers a good deal of money. I know Belkin has some that cover up to $350,000 US.

Sucks that the last one blew. I hate it when things go wrong with computers. I remember two years ago when a virus wiped out my HDD. Not a nice feeling.

Bet it aint, the machine we had has now been updated as far as we can go, I aint gonna spend another cent on the bloody thing, new comp next time

Stuff always goes wrong on our computers, luckly i do a couple of IT subjects at school and i have learnt to fix many problems that have arose. Good to see a fellow Aussie back on the Forums

Welcome back Bollocks. Long time no see.
I wish you the best with the new equipment. My desktop did something similar to that. I was working on a paper and I smelt smoke. I looked at my tower, and on the back huge puffs of smoke were coming out. Low and behold, the fans were punched in the back and my hdd was burning. It was actually on fire! I didn't know how, but the dam thing fried. As well as the rest of the whole thing. So now, I use a laptop. It kicks more arse anyways.
