I'm going to write an e-mail to Sony!

When people got cheated from the "gift" function with expensive cars, that made PD do the 1 million credit and 1 car per 1 PS3 rule. Now, looks like they are making another restriction. I honestly hope that the vote kick function stays in place and the DLC spectate is implemented. When host is AFK (away from keyboard) it gets irritating to wait for race start, or to ask a kick for idiot X1 users in free run rooms.

👎👎👎 to the idiot hijackers.

So because you can't drive the x1 that makes those who can idiots?
Stop whining and take your ritalin.

Well, I do have all silvers on the X1 challenge, and that's not my point and not the threads. Stick to the topic, if you haven't read the GTP rules recently I suggest you do so.

You're using faulty logic. He's not saying that because he's jealous, he's saying that becuase the vast majority of people who show up in public lobbies with X1s treat them like 300mph bulldozers, ramming everyone who doesn't get out of their way quickly enough (either because they don't have the reaction times they need or because they expect everyone to get out of their way).

Its not just about PD. From what the customer service rep told me when I CALLED SONY SUPPORT this may become the norm for all DLC content with PSN. IE: if you have 3 people who play a game and an expansion comes out you will have to buy it 3 times – FOR EVERY GAME YOU OWN… If you dont see the issue with this than you are being idiotic. The only way to solve things like this is to voice your opinion to the companies who are doing it and if they dont change the policies THEY created than you have the right to vote with YOUR hard earned money and buy from their competition.

There are many other options they could have chosen, but they chose to stick it to their customers and voicing that you will not stand for it counts if enough people do it. They work for us their customers and are obligated to do what is right for us to keep their profits, if we dont buy their products they dont stay in business. Its that simple.

This is what I wrote…… I urge you all to do the same before EVERY game does this. I just spent 15 minutes on the phone with Sony and they expressed this trend will continue do to people cloning accounts on multiple PlayStations. YOU HAVE A VOICE THROUGH EMAIL AND YOUR WALLETS. USE THEM

Dear Sony,

I have to express my frustration with hearing that DLC content (specificly for now but not limited to DLC for GranTurismo 5) will be limited to only that profile it is purchased under and not available to other profiles on THE SAME PS3.

I URGE you to correct this issue for this and all future DLC content before it becomes a PR nightmare. To my knowledge you have never had this in the past and your compatition (Xbox360) does not do this either. It makes no sense to purchase DLC content multiple times for each person in the same home and this will prevent people like me from even purchasing content from you in the future (Possibly even go to Xbox – I am really considering it at this point along with not purchasing any Sony products in the future).

2 Suggestions to prevent this issue which will undoubtably distroy your companies reputation.

#1 and most simple – DONT DO IT.

#2 Create an online registry (Similar to what Origin does for Battlefield Veteran Status) where we can place a master account (IE: PS3 Serial Number) and list all of the profiles for that PS3 under it to share content. Similar to the Xbox family account concept.

I await your response and ability to re-establish my faith in Sony, Playstation and its developers.

Awesome letter there, mate. :D:tup:

That's exactly the way out of the DLC desaster. A master account from where you have to purchase games & DLC, from where you can set up an adult filter for all users on the PS3.

And I would go one step further.

Game Sharing: they should send out all DVD/BluRay games with an registration key, which will lock the game to the master account. If you want to sell the game, you need to request a new one from Sony, for maybe 3$.

Cheating: not such a big problem like on PC I think, but if, then they should ban the master account, all users created under that master account & by PS3 hardware ID, as protection for future cheating - for every game separately. They should also flag cheaters like Steam does.

But I think it's impossible for the PS3. Let's pray they will implement it in the new PS4. :)

The Sony morons should better get their **** togetter in China instead of ripping off loayal customers. I read somewhere that 9/10 of the PS3's sold there are jailbroken! Now what do you think how much cash they loose there, a country with a population of 1,339,724,852 (that's 4x USA!).

Yes like I said just because you can't drive it, anyone child can get the silvers.
As for reading the rules, you sad sad little man:dopey:

I honestly don't get what you are saying. The comment about X1s came from the recent free gift from PD celebrating Vettel's consecutive champion title and the free run rooms are flooded with people using X1s that they didn't earn. Like White & Nerdy said, that is what I was trying to get at.

So I can literally drive it, I have one Green X1 and a whopping 3 S.Vettel, adding together the prize for silver, 35 B spec and free gift. And also I can "drive it", as in drive it clean and well, since I beat the challenge legitimately. But this is way off topic as this thread is about the recent disappointment regarding DLC and how to remedy it.

If you don't have anything to say about the DLC or about sending e-mails, don't say it. Posts inappropriate to the thread are against the rule. And posts to start a flame war or to attack a certain individual will be reported. Just saying, might be a good idea to read the rule and think before you post. You're not making any sense.

Sorry White & Nerdy for spamming your thread with off topic posts, don't blame me bud:tup:

Never going to happen, in case you haven't noticed, games retailers make a lot of money through trade-ins and them as selling second hand games and there's also game rentals from companies like Lovefilm if Sony put some stupid lock on the games then charge you to take it off they've effectively taken steps to kill off both these means of revenue for the companies who sell and promote their games. Do you really think retailers are going to stand for that?

And then there's Microsoft who would have a field day if Sony did that, they wouldn't even need an advertising campaign for the Xbox because Sony would have just pushed millions of customers their way. If they did do an advertising campaign it would simply need to say "Sony lock the games you buy, Microsoft doesn't", cue millions of people saying "**** Sony, I'm getting an Xbox". If Sony don't want a complete PR disaster then they should steer well clear of that suggestion.

Here's a novel idea for Sony: since Sony advertised the fact that content from the PS Store could be used on up to 5 separate consoles using your PSN account and content downloaded on said consoles could be used for all accounts on that particular PS3 the idea is this, ****ing leave it the way it is and stop pissing your customers off!

@Stephen220378: I personally don't see there a big issue. The xBox is a much more expensive "experience". First, you have to pay a monthly fee for the "online service" & second, you have to purchase the DLC for every account. And I don't know if gamesharing is at the xBox that easy like on the PS3. :sly:

Also look what DICE/EA did for PC with Battlefield:Bad Company 2. They sold the game with an key, which will "lock" the game to your EA account. So you can't sell it later. Yes it's bad, but as you can see it can be done & the people still buying it like mad (9mil copies sold, more as 50% of it for PC).

I agree that the Xbox has a lot of extra costs that people don't take into account when they're buying one, online subscription fees, needing a wi-fi adaptor to connect to the internet wirelessly (on older consoles), the cost of constantly buying batteries for their pads or having to buy the Xbox rechargeable pack etc. The thing is Sony seem to be going down the same road with single account only DLC so that an advantage that might be taken away. With game locking in the way described well a lot of people will see that as an infringement of their rights, I mean really, why should we be unable to sell on a game after we've bought it? The PC gaming business is a lot different to the console gaming business, Sony have a competitor in Microsoft's Xbox, they can easily lose customers, the PC can't really because it has no competition. For games like Battlefield, well that has a large dedicated PC following as the games are usually made for PC rather than consoles and it's the PC gamers choice of shooter, EA weren't really taking much of a gamble. Plus the PC game rental, trade in and second hand business isn't as big as it is for console gaming.
