Hi guys!

I'm currently at level 35, and the only races left to be done are the 24 hours (Le Mans and Nurburgring).

But how can I do it by myself? No way I can drive like 8 hours pause it, return next day, drive another 8 hours, and then more 8 hours... My head, eyes and body will collapse. If that is the only way, I should drive 4 hours x 6 days, because 8 hours is really demanding.

How did you guys did it? Suggestions?

Not done 24 hour races in GT5 but have done in GT4. I just called some friends over to act as copilots and had turns behind the wheel and it was great fun. Plan to do this in GT5 also if i ever get to the required level (i don't grind). :)

If you use the X2010 you only have to race ~20 hours since you lap the field so many times. It's still a looooooong race but 20 is better than 24.

I'm currently at lvl 38. I still haven't done the 24 hr race yet but I plan on it soon. I suppose I'll have to do just that. Run for 3-6hrs, pause, nap whatever, then come back. It'll probably take me 4-5 days but I don't really have a choice. For whatever reason they decided not to put enough events in to take you to the next lvl. You end up having to REPEAT events over and over to get up there. Ridiculous.

Good luck to ya when you decide to do yours.

Oh and I doubt I'll be using the X1. To me it's actually MORE TIRING to drive that thing at the frenetic pace it can do. Plus the FFB on my wheel is maxed out whenever I use the X1 so outside of unplugging the power to the wheel and running w/no FFB I can't see wrestling with that thing for 20+hrs.

Still trying to figure out WHAT car to use though...

I'm a little surprised that they didn't add some kind of save. I remember when I played MGS4 they warn you not to play to long and to take breaks. That's because they don't want to get sued. I think PD leaves itself vulnerable to a lawsuit if some kid dies while doing a 24 hour race and the cause is exhaustion.

I'm sure this couldn't happen to a perfectly healthy child but maybe to one with some other health problems.

Yeah guys, the FFB of the G27 is set to 10, but I think I'll put it to zero for these ones. I'll ask a couple of friends to help. 2 or 4 hours is better than nothing! :)

But I think the save would be acceptable in the 24-hour races, because it is something that is impossible for anyone to do it by himself.

I'll take a ride on the X2010 to try, because as Walter said, it might be more tiring than an slower car like a Audi R8 LMS, GT-R SuperGT... Another cool car to do it should be the Toyota Minolta.

So, anyone did it so far?

i like how you take a life and health into consideration. i remember watching the news saying than a kid died because of playing WoW for days on end. i do believe PD wants us to die....

I did the LeMans 24hour with Audi R10 TDi. I enjoyed the race except it was too long.

I'm currently on holidays so I did 10/10/4 but I still sat at the finish line for the last half hour (I had enough laps ahead) because I was exhausted.

The thing is, it gives heaps of exp. but you'll need to do it another 10 times or so to get to 40. I've re-done other races and raced a fair bit online, but the exp. rewards are paltry. I have resorted to rubber-band grinding Indy on the dream car championship. Up to 38 and a half now.

I must be getting old because I did the Nurb25hr on GT4 about 5 times.

For Le Mans I used an X1, drove 9 hours on a Saturday, slept 6 hours (without pausing), and drove another 9 hours on Sunday. But I only planned on doing it once. I will probably try something similar with Nurburgring.

That's 5 days of your life sacrificed to a game. How could you do that. Man, there's so much dedication on GTP.

I bought a 2nd PS3 so I can pause and play as will. while keeping the 1st for other games, Blu-ray, and Netflix. I imagine 24 hours probably over the course of 2 weeks...

That's not 5 days of your life sacrificed to a game. That's 5 days of your life sacrificed to a single RACE in a game. :dopey:

Some of these guys sacrifice several YEARS to the game itself! That's not dedication, that's just a lack of a real life...

My mom is a trial lawyer and I guaruntee if someone died from an endurance race there would be a lawsuit. I've seen people sue for way crazier stuff.

Im also at level 35 A-Spec (35½) and I plan to do the LeMans 24 hr race this coming weekend starting on Friday evening, driving in 4hr stints, pausing and resuming as required, hopefully I will complete the race by Sunday night :nervous:

With regard the remaining grind I intend to repeat the 4Hr Nürburgring (Approx 50 something times :grumpy:) to get to level 40. If the Bonus Races under the Seasonal Events continue as of late, this grind should be hopefully reduced in part

I have driven this race six times now in various cars, lowering the bhp/tonne ratio each race to make it more competitive and for me, enjoyable :)

This practice has helped me condition myself to drive in four hour stints pausing briefly at each pit stop (1 Hour intervals) to get up and stretch my legs and exercise my neck. I am also benefiting from the constant knowledge gained of the circuit lap after lap this should hopefully pay dividends when I reach level 40 for the last race :gtpflag::cheers:

I did the 24H Le Mans last week-end with the CLK-GTR. Started saturday 11 am, finished sunday 11 pm. 12 hours sitting per day, alternating 3 hours stints with 15-20 min breaks.

I was totally exhausted at the end of the race (the last 4 hours felt like never ending) but I really enjoyed the race and its special atmosphere - especially during the night.

Although I understand some people are doing this in X2010s for time saving purpose, it definitely takes out a part of the enjoyment.

PD took out almost all the enjoyment when they made the game.

I haven't even done one endurance race in A spec yet! I won't be attempting them until they put a save option in there, if they don't then they will stay unfinished. 24 hours of racing in a game is ridiculous imo.

YEP YEAH!!!... Its a 24 hr race, and thats what ya got to do, its not lap determand

I did the LM 24h with X1, first day i did 7 hours (every 2h i had a little break)
and the next day i did 9 hours and when clock reached 16.00 i was the winner of race, i parked it and came back late to collect the prizes...

It was a bit exsausting but there are the long straights so its no so heavy on you - but Nurburgring will be heavy

Im in exactly the same position but im not going to bother with these unless a patch allows us to save when pitting. Main reason is I can't see the point of risking my PS3 from blowing up for the sake of a gold medal, credits, xp. Also I have the fat PS3 and its out of warranty.

The endurances sum up how poor GT5 is for me. Playing a video game is supposed to be enjoyable but in my opinion GT5 is nothing but a chore. All I have left to do is grinding for credits and collecting cars. Reason being my friends have abandoned GT5 already and im not racing against strangers online. I can't hotlap either because GT5 doesn't have leaderboards.

Overall gameplay on GT5 is crap, boring, stale, outdated.

Im 33 A-spec at the moment and won't be doing any of the 24 hour Enduros until im on holidays for school.

When I do them though I plan on doing an all nighter with a couple of mates and just take turns. Should be a blast :)

Why do people spend so much time doing things they don't like in a video game only to say 'I've reached level 40'? There is nothing else attached to it, as all the cars you win can be bought or traded (and there is no car that will take 24 hours to get).
I am really wondering this, so if anyone could give me an answer that would be much appreciated :)

Doing a 24 hour race in an X2010 so you only have to drive for 16 hours (!?) is not something I think anyone would enjoy, but I might be wrong. I get driving a 24 hour race in a competitive car, managing your pitstops etc. (although even then I wouldn't do it without saves).

Maybe I'm just crazy or too old for this, but this completionism has gone strange...

Same here, lvl 35. I'll just wait until they put in some sort save function xp. If they don't, screw those races then :-). To reach 40 you have to do the 24h of Le Mans like 5 times, 5 TIMES!

Well put iLex, I don't want to ruin the 24 hour experience, but I just don't want to die... ;) hehehe.

I thought if I won the Lan Mans 1 time I would reach level 40, but if I have to do it 5 times, I wont rush... I'll plan it for next holiday.

I'll try to follow the tips: race for 2 - 3 hours, break, again, break, again; sleep, and so on.

Thanks guys!

Still yet to unlock those races, one level away from
le mans. I will most likely do it in like a week. A few hours here and there. Whenever I get a moment kill some laps, go do something else then return.

I have all sorted
Im planning to do those two races (they are the only ones I have left to do) when I retire - in about 40 years - maybe sooner if saves in pit are allowed

Yes, I have done the Circuit de la Sarthe 24 Hours of Lemans by myself and uploaded parts of it on YouTube and won it with the 908 HDi FAP-Team Peugeot Total '10 - great car for this was ahead 42 laps.

My experienced was one i cannot forget. After my 16th hour on the 3rd day- I hit the "Restart" option! I fell on my chair literally and my son (big fan) cried even. I was so mad of myself that i wrote Polyphony to make changes on this - 1. Make a "Save" option, 2. Remove or move the "Restart" option to the right most. I was so mad that i have to restart (to not think of what happened) that i managed to finish it in 3 days!
What an experience, but to that i enjoyed more after finish line.

Now, "How to get to LVL40 alone? Do Bonus races, get high XP points and grind. We will conquer you LVL 40 and Polyphony!

see you. peace.
