Are there any coupon codes or anything that anyone has? I'd like to get on the forums for a couple of months and get up to speed before I finish my new sim room

thanks

I think he means there's no way to just get into the forum without membership. But I think you already knew that and were just asking if there were any deals on membership, right?

All forums are to a degree a cult. I'll agree that there are a core group at iracing that can tend to talk to themselves, but it's still a great resource if you're looking to mod/setup a specific piece of hardware. Lots of good info for that if you want to see all the possibilities.

Gtplanet is not closed to outsiders and don´t require you to pay to access the forums :)

I would want to sniff out as much detail about the HE pedals compared to other set of pedals and against eachothers. Sim ultimate and Sim Professional.

Maybe I need to clarify my above post. I think GTPlanet is the best freely available hardware forum on the web. And on subjects where there's a lot of owners, it's the best racing resource on the web (free or not). I'm just saying forums by their nature all have an element of cult to them. If we're being honest with ourselves. Iracing (hardware), however, is excellent if you're looking for modding details for hardware that's not prominently owned here.

You also have Berney from Simexperience posting there. Although I'm not sure I can truly give iracing credit for that, because Berney walked away from GTPlanet because one person got under his skin? That doesn't speak very well of Berney TBH. Or what kind of support you can expect from Simexperience if something goes wrong with your purchase. I view that type of volatility as a red flag personally.

so Maya Did you contact DeathMagnetic yet? let me know when you joined the dark side. well run some fun race while you're testing.

When you get access to the iRacing forums, the FIRST thing you should do is access the Rookie Road Racing forums and look at the "sticky" post at the top of that section titled "Essential Reading" threads -- there is a TON of helpful info there that you would otherwise have to learn the hard way. This is exactly the kind of stuff that I wish had existed when I first joined iRacing.

I'd recommend bookmarking the link for future reference, in fact:

Link: "Essential Reading" threads (iRacing)

I'd also recommend these links (also found in the "Essential Reading" threads link:

Link: "Surviving Rookies" video tutorials

Link: I was new and frustrated so I slowed down to improve

Link: Rookie Race Tips: Race Pace

Link: Rookie Race Tips: Practice heads-up racing

My contractor is having some medical issues and has left my home in shambles. I've called other contractors and nobody wants to work on someone else's mess. So I have to wait till he is out of the hospital.

That sucks, hope his convalescence is quick. Any chance you can do some of the work? I renovated two of my homes and it is a lot of hard work, difficult to do when you work full time. Hell, it's hard any time. :)

Yeah I made headway this week, I painted the first floor and I hired a pro to do the second and third floors and put new hardwood floors on the second and third floors. My contractor gets out of the hospital in 4 to 6 weeks and then I'll be back in business! :)

I'm currently working with SimPit of NZ on a deal to get their brand new Icarus. He sent me a couple of pics and it looks outstanding! That will replace my triple 55" projection panels. This way I no longer cast shadows and I can get my rig literally right up and under the screen so I can run Remco's Super Field of View, but with three projectors instead of just one.
