I'm wrong, cars on kart tracks are apparently awesome.

Kart Space 1/ rally cars/ 530pp/ sports hard

We did a lobby like that yesterday, most fun i've had in GT5 for a long time, you could almost smell the rubber in that little hall.
Nascar on sports soft isn't bad either, the tiny bit where you can get the foot down and shift into second gear is so damn satisfying. :D

I was one of the guys hoping for Spa as DLC, but i have to admit that i had a bit more fun on Kart Space so far.

It's a nice photo location. So at least you can take pics of your favorite cars there.

I think that was why most people wanted the option to drive all cars on Kart Space. That's what I wanted anyway.

funnily enough I spent ages on this track in a mini cooper 2007 and it was a real blast, if you take something like a redbull on it you only expect sillyness lol, but I have to say I'm glad we can now take cars on it, it would have been a shame to let the opportunity pass.

This track does give me a migrane after a while though !

I personally wouldbt drive a car on any kart track especially kart space. I like to drive them what your supposed to

it's made free for all cars much becasue every drifter looked at it like the perfect drift track.

Kaz listened and opened it up. Joined a lobby yesterday for drift and it was bon, a bit narrow, but very nice technical corner transfering.

For karts and drifts imo

Am I the only one that thought it felt similar to an Autocross course? It's narrow and challenging, and small cars are suited to it, just like an Autocross course. Sure it doesn't look like one, but it felt like it.

Had a blast last night in prohibited tuning Roadster TC cars on SS tires, ridiculous, but fun anyway.
Probably even better on SH or CS tires to kick the rear easier though. :)

I like how my kart space hating thread turned into some kind of party for all the drifters and auto-cross people :dopey:

Carry on...

EDIT: changed the OP to reflect the content of this thread :p

I drifted the entire loop in the Citroen GT using the cockpit view, zoomed in, with a DFGT. I had no idea I was capable of it, until I tried. I love the Kart Space track.

When I get back from work this evening I'm going to try this 👍

I love Kart Space - only driven both variations once each so far, with an S2000 GT1. Awesome track to drift on and can pretty much do a whole lap while drifting if i don't make mistakes. :D

Thanks PD!

That will happen anytime you make a thread complaining about something a majority enjoys. ;)

Besides, you don't have to race non-karts on the track, so what do you care if other people are allowed to?💡

Same thing i thought of it when driving the RX7 TC. It's so tight and technical and a blast to drive over and over, perfecting lap times.

It certainly wasn't a necessity but so easy to implement I'm surprised it took so long. The only car I've driven on kart space so far though is my R10 TDI lol. Even with the shortest gearing I couldn't get it out of 3rd gear

I did about 5 laps with the Edge Camaro. Some of the most silly fun I've had in the game in a long time, and the sheer chaos that would be involved really makes me want to try it online. It seems like it would be a fantastic time so long as you didn't take it that seriously.

Sounds like a bumper car race. Might be fun if everyone agrees, like you're saying. 👍

Again, who the heck said I thought no one should be allowed to? Where are people getting this? I said the cars shouldn't be driven there (but not that they shouldn't be allowed to), and I could understand why PD at first would allow only karts (because frankly large cars on that track are ridiculous).

I was sharing an opinion and asking who shared that opinion. I got my answer.

No one.

Running cars on it is great fun for awhile. It will get old, but for now something new and appreciated.

We respect you for trying :D
I don't understand how you can't like it. Sorry, but it really is such unadulturated fun that you just have to love it. It's like Burnout Paradise. The cars have infinite gears, don't exist, and handle like their center of gravity is somewhere near the center of the Earth. But when you literally fly into a bus at full speed with an F1 car, you just have to smile.

LETS SEE A NEW BURNOUT GAME CRITERION!!!

Very much so; My Caterham seems the most suited, as it seems to be the smallest rear drive car I own.

With full power @ ~260hp and RS tyres, I got about ~36-37 second laps.

Oh, and thats on Kart Space Layout I:D

A 10 person Suzuki Cappacuino race is reasonably fun. Suppose this track could be added to the racing leagues for small cars like the Cappacuino and the daihatsu copen top or what the car is called, I forget.

I took the Mitusbishi Evo TC out on it first, and it was by far the most fun I've had! Was too difficult to drive it around due to massive understeer, so ended up drifting it around like it was a rallycross stage... Now I'm not good at drifting but it hauls you in, stops you using the regular brakes, start using only the handbrake, lots of smoke... and I was trying to do fast lap times! As someone said before, going sideways is easy but getting decent lap times is tricky.

Surely it's the next Drift Trial - full lap drift 👍
Had some fun drifting a tuned Alfa Giulia around it.

Or bring on another Kei seasonal

If you read my Second reply.

Some one knows what you're talking about.

It's because there is little difference between the two statements when they are phrased the way they were in the OP, particularly when the "I understand why PD made it so you couldn't" part is taken into consideration.
