Hi guys, it's me.

I am just wondering what your idea of a new "spec" in GT would be. Mine would be being a pit crew at a race. The faster and more effective you put the tires on the cars, the more credits you will make. This idea for a C-Spec mode would have its own event series. Beginners would change the tires of slower cars, while experts would change the tires of NASCARS and other race cars.

Now lets here YOUR ideas of a new spec.

Rules
All ideas must be clear and appropriate. NO profanity, and if your idea isn't complete, then do not post.
Do not suggest something that is stupid or meaningless.
Do not suggest something that is too similar to A-Spec or B-Spec
Do not suggest the course maker or any type of features. This is for a new spec, not a suggestion for a feature.
Please do not start any drama, the last thing I need is this thread becoming locked.
Lastly, if your idea has already been suggested, do not post your idea. Think of a new one.

Team management mode.

1.) You hire B-Spec drivers and/or race yourself
2.) You can enter multiple cars in a race... just as long as you can afford to pay the drivers and entry fees.
3.) Be able to multiply results and earnings based on your cars' performance in championships and races.
4.) Entry fees would be lower for events like the Clubman Cup and very high for the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

Kind of like heists in GTA or a career mode in an EA Sports game. Some progression and simulation.

C-Spec is more of a team management mode

Garage separate from career mode with realistic events

Sponsorship deals from real companies with bigger deals from bigger companies with tougher goals

Hire mechanic, 4 drivers, a rally co driver and a crew Cheif and a 6 man pit crew, costs depend on their ability.

No in race stuff, just a quick leaderboard that goes over a whole race, regardless of distance, in 100 seconds. A better race team increases the chances of winning.

Free Car of players choice for finishing C-Spec Career

That is a great idea! It is too bad Kaz has not done this in any of the other GT games.

My friend an I used to refer to C-Spec mode quite a lot. It was basically a joke at first as my brother was talking about driving in C-Spec but what he actually meant was using the C tab on the settings page.

Anyway my friend and I were trying to get as many A-Spec points as possible and in several cases that meant cutting corners, riding walls, slamming the AI or whatever it took to get the win. We referred to this as C-Spec AKA Cheat Spec ;)

Engineer's Mode: You have to find a solution to a technical problem (e.g. not enough downforce - which wing to use? or which engine setup fits best with this track?)

or

Car Mechanic's Mode: Something is broken on your team's car and you need to fix it (e.g. Turbo broke while racing, replace it) and some regular work (timing belt, oil change, race preperation,...).

Great thread idea! I will have mine C-Spec idea up a little bit later.

That seems pretty cool!

My c spec: you're the safety car driver and have to enter the track at the most appropriate times, eveN warning other drivers with the appropriate flag system. You can see the race being held a la b spec mode, a sort of marshall/ official game mode that might be useful to people willing to learn a proper racing etiquette

I think if there was to be a C-Spec mode I would go with a Career simulator mode, where the driver has to work his way up from karts to whatever getting endorsements and sponsors along the way.
I'd like to add on to that, and have a tryout before you start your career to see what level of karts you start with. Go through each level of karts on a hot lap to beat a certain time. If you can't beat the time for that level, you start at that level and work your way up. You could start as low as Junior Karts or begin ahead of the curve on the Kart Shifters.

Edit: Got this idea from NASCAR '08

you're kinda wandering away from what Gran Turismo is but GT5 started it I guess

not that interested in pit crew as that wasnt a huge part of the GT5 experience but we just want a GT5 B-Spec where you ran a team and hired and fired and did more pit strategy etc.

C spec could mean one of serveral things (in order of likeliness): A: Team Owner/Manager B: Track Marshall/Pace Car C: Pit Crew member D: Member of the crowd

What most people say is kinda what Top Gear Race Team Manager basically Is. You buy cars, maintain them through races and during races IT has a b spec thing but at times the player cuts in with overtakes, blocks, crash avoidance, pit stops, etc. a cool addition in GT could be to try and get the best start off the line

The C-Spec to me, it could be a new mode that would only be available in endurance races. This consistests in, depending on the hours of the race for the number of drivers(6, 12, 24), for example the 24 hours of leans, and we (the players) would have 3 ai drivers + human that would be totally independent from the player and which one would be olbigated to race 6 hours including the player.
The AI would have to go to the pits all by them selfs because we (the players) would just be another driver and not the team manager.

C-Spec would just be like the one seen in Grid Autosport, where you race A-Spec and you have a teammate and you give him commands like asking him to defend, hold, push or attack for a race position.

C-spec: Polyphony Digital mode

You become the producer for a studio making a driving simulation game. You must hire a staff of competent specialists, secure licenses from car makers, make sure to keep the budget and stick to the timeline (rather than the optimal racing line, the game will have an option to show the optimal time line), you must select what tracks to include, you must dodge obstacles throughout the development process, you can travel the world to hand out awards at car shows or present your games at various game expos, you can design your own fantasy car and once per year you can race in Nürburgring 24 Hours. Once you have golded all the events of C-spec, the game you developed will be playable on your PS3.

Edit: Of course, once per year there will be a GT Academy C-spec event, where the top ten C-spec gamers of the world will meet at a "producer camp" in Tokyo to compete for the GT Academy C-spec title. The winner of the title will be offered a chance to become a producer for a Sony studio and produce games competing on the real world market.

Real spectator mode.

You can explore the circuit facilities on first or third person view, reaching your allocated seats on the grandstands by walking the normal pathways, enter buildings or simply explore the surroundings and inner field at your convenience. You can upgrade your tickets to paddock ones and investigate the garages. Searching for hidden items by photographing them too.

I'd like to see F-spec, where F stands for freelance or freeplay.

A mode where all the cars & tracks are available from the start, all the options are available from the start (mechanical damage, tire wear, penalties, standing starts & normal rolling starts, full balanced grid, etc), you focus on racing cars you're actually interested in and not grinding to acquire cars, you simply setup custom races in whatever way you want and have fun with it.

I see it as an elongated rally mode, where you sit in the driver's seat and go on various trails w/ a co-driver around the world.

Another mode that may be interested would be something like NFS Porsche Unleashed evolution mode.

In this mode the date changes as you win races. The mode would start back in the early 1900s in the year of the earliest model car in GT. You would only be able to buy and race against cars that had been built at that time. There would be a couple of short races you could enter and once you won them the date would advance. As the date advances new cars become available, older cars move from the dealerships to randomly appearing in the UCD. A few different races appear and the previous races drop off the list. The races would get longer and harder as time goes by and the number of races would increase a little. Maybe starting at 2 and then moving up to a max of 5 to 10 per level at some point.

As many cars as GT has and the range of years could make this a rather long mode that could take a while to finish

Hmmm. How about you have to design, build and then race a car at the 24hrs of Le Mans? You start off with choosing a year, then a class for that year, and go from there.

How 'bout Z-Spec? You're a zombie and you...Wait...wha--?!
Please look at the second bullet under the rules. We do not need dumb suggestions.

Defeats the purpose of career mode, and everything else in GT6. This is a sim racing game, not a free run where all cars and parts are free.

What about D-Spec, you're a 2D Sprite watching the race.

EDIT: Ouch, outdone by true_kiat.

Hmm, but what about DD-spec: You're a paddock girl, you have to hold an umbrella, avoid fainting and move out of the way so you don't get run over.
Please look at the rules as you did not comply with the second one.

And do you think that avatar gives you some authority?
Actually, no. I bought the Gtpedia today, and tomorrow, I will change my pic back to the fish.

Anyway, what rule did I break. I am not impersonating you or any other admin, I just don't want this thread to get locked like my previous one.
