Motorex has not crash tested a Skyline. If they did, then we really wouldn't have a problem with it coming to the US.

From motorex themselves a while back....

Q. Why are MotoRex's prices so high! I feel they are ripping people off!
A. (From MotoRex's website) We have had to go though all of the mandatory requirements for the DOT and EPA . Including crash testing , air bag testing , and OBD II to meet the Code of Federal Regulation requirements. Since Nissan did not perform any of these requirements , we have independently completed the research and development. The pricing reflects our cost of reseach and development.

Q. What modifications do you perform in order for the GT-R to meet US regulations ?
A. In order to protect our business interests, research and developmentcosts, the answer to this question is confidential. Some of the basic items that are changed are things such as US emissions, speedometer , crash structure , lighting , US VIN , warning , and information labels.

I seen a RHD CRX today. Looked stock but I don't see why they have it when they are practically the same.

A few weeks ago I saw an original RHD Mini driving through the mall parking lot. Was a pretty cool sight. 👍

Hiya! :D :O  Meow! (='.'=)

The part CONFIDENTIAL just hit me into suspicion.... :guilty: If Motorex does not want to tell the customers/public...can we say that the skylines are actually FAKE!!!!??? It may have the body and the interior, but the engine? If we were to test and compare a Skyline from Japan and a Motorex Skyline, would the result be similar or have a gap in between? Just reading that info again and again from a year ago till now just make me think why would someone STILL import the skyline IF Motorex woin't tell them what they ACTUALLY DID to the car. Do the customers just get it because its their favorite car and want that attention from the import crowd and show status? (although the sklyine could be considered fake depending on what Motorex really did)
:O

:odd:

Uh no - it's confidential because they don't want competition or someone importing a Skyline themselves. If they don't tell people exactly what they do, they can't replicate it. The cars are the exact same.

Motorex has crash-tested Skylines, at least enough to meet federal requirements; their VIN numbers start with four or five so the vehicles are US government-approved (unless they're faking VIN numbers somehow, which is a serious federal crime). I'm fairly sure the only problem with the Skyline coming to the US is money, and legalization (emissions, 5mph bumper regulations, etc.).
