I found some of these tight. Reverse Alsace was a last corner special in my stock NSX and the first race was too, again a stock Giulia.

Spa was tougher than I thought, used the Audi at first but had no top speed so went with the Lexus group 2 but it started raining as I pit for new slicks dammit. Still won though.

All wins on hard difficulty:
1. MINI Mini-Cooper "S" '65 - 350pp,SH
2. Mazda Roadster NR-A (ND) '22 - 550pp,SH
3. N-ONE - 400pp,CS
4. Nissan R33 GT-R V-spec '97 - 670pp,SM
5. Peugeot 908 HDi FAP '10 - 900pp,RM,pit on lap 5,no rain
Peugeot 908 HDi FAP '10 - 900pp,RM and IM,pit on lap 5,heavy rain
Mazda LM55 VGT (Gr.1) - 900pp,RM,pit on lap5,no rain
All cars have tunes by @praiano63.

Sunday Cup Classic: Ford GT40. In & out, quick and easy
Japanese Clubman Cup 550: Toyota GR86. Pretty successful outing for my cup build
Nissan GT-R Cup: Nismo R34 Z-Tune. The power certainly isn't lacking but boy does this car need help with turning. Taking the GT500 Setup was not the move. Regarding the track: Much Like Kyle Busch winning the first COT race at Bristol, still not a fan of this thing. It sucks.
World Touring Car 900: Toyota GR010. Makes not only achieving the 6 lap fuel stint easy, but even allows for the 7 lap stint as well.
Honda N-One One-Make: Fun. Just pure fun.

IIRC that's the race I tried with every car possible less or equal to 550PP but just couldn't win😟 But maybe I'm just especially bad at this track 'cause it just doesn't flow for me.
Sorry, but I have to ask about this again 'cause I tried again today (with the Corolla Morizo) and again couldn't win.... finished 4 seconds behind the frickin' Afeela😟
Since almost nobody here ever mentions what difficulty they're playing on, did any of you win this on hard with a car equal to or below 550PP?
Somehow this race seems to be my nemesis and I just wanna know if I'm even worse than I thought😄

I guess you did not read my post .
Won on hard difficulty.
Mazda Roadster NR-A (ND) '22 - 550pp,SH
I know most of the regulars will be able to do it at 550pp and less.
I also wish that everyone would include the difficulty level instead of just a few of us.
Edit: @ROCKET JOE did it with a 550pp AFEELA.

I won on hard with a stock '97 Supra. AI is really slow into the corners, that's where all your time is usually at that track. You might struggle with cars around that PP level but CS because of the time you'll lose in the corners so probably stick to stuff on SH.

Hm, definitely didn't try this one yet!

Guess that's why his name is Rocket Joe😉

Thanks, that answers my last question😟😄

When I played through the Menu Books first time around when I bought the game, I played on Normal difficulty. These days I just play the Weekly Challenges on Easy as I'm just driving for fun and to pocket some easy credits.

Having said that, even on Easy I found the Alsace race a pain - I think it's because it's in Reverse and I know the course much better the other way around.

Well this is turning out to be an adventurous week for one race. lol
Let's start with Spa. I did this race when it came out a few weeks ago. All I remember is I wasn't happy, didn't save the replay, and it says I got second. And today it pissed me off again. Went out with the Audi and only ended up third. I shall have to go with the big boy Gr.1's for a rerun tomorrow.
GTR Cup was in one car I had won this before, my Kaido racer 400R on SS. Easy win by almost 30 seconds.

Laguna Seca was fun! I kept it competitive and detuned my widebody and put it on CS. Only won it halfway through the final lap.

For Alsace I just grabbed a car that caught my eye. Swapped EG on SS. It was a battle for a bit between me, the Afeela, and the 86. Won by about 8 seconds.
Alsace - Village Reverse_ by 2cam16, on Flickr
Monza was a win in a stock Pug.
Autodromo Nazionale Monza_ (5) by 2cam16, on Flickr

Enjoyed this set more than I thought I would.

-The Citroen was a smooth ride on that stock suspension, and was in no hurry to get to the front.
-Drove the Afeela for the first time. Handles pretty good, I just don't like not having gears to change.
-I'll take every opportunity to drive the N One. Such a fun car.
-The old school GTR with an engine swap is a handful on SS tires. What you gain with all that HP, you give up, with a white knuckle driving experience. But it was a blast.
- 900pp for 10 laps, I wasn't messing around. My go to, Mazda VGT Gr1. Fast, and very easy to drive.

It’s funny how everyone experiences these challenges quite differently. For me personally this was a surprise that they all were so easy I had to check I was in hard mode still, go figure! I honestly think PD changes the parameters behind the scenes but enough talking. These are the picks for this set:

1) Sunday Cup Classic - Alpine A110 ‘72; 450PP on Sports Hard tires: passed everyone except the Giulia before the end of the first lap and then the Giulia went wide on a corner letting me pass on the inside and he gave up, too easy of a victory

IMG_7937.webp

2) Japanese Clubman Cup 550 - Nissan Fairlady Z 432 ‘69; 549PP on Sports Hard tires: this was another race where being at the suggested level felt overpowered however the AFEELA did put a fight albeit the expected outcome of giving up once I got 1P, by the way love this layout, somehow it feels weirdly natural

IMG_7929.webp

IMG_7936.webp

3) Honda N One Special Event - Honda N ONE ‘22; 399PP on Comfort Medium tires: another surprise in that they were all dressed up and even tuned yet were underpowered or something, except predictable the leader who again had to pass on the inside in the left curve right before the corkscrew, interesting pattern developing

IMG_7928.webp

IMG_7933.webp

4) Nissan GT-R Cup - Nissan GT-R Premium edition T-spec ‘24; 690PP on Sports Soft tires: at last got a decent race here, and yes, this reverse layout flows better go figure! This was an R35 dominance with the top 5 being all R35s, even they got a bit aggressive sometimes, overall good race!

IMG_7931.webp

IMG_7932.webp

5) World Touring Car 900 - Nissan GT-R NISMO GT500; 897PP on Racing Medium tires: no rain at all! Was running FM6 and on 3P by the beginning of lap 5 when the top two pitted at the end, went ahead with fuel going low but made it to the end of lap 6 when I did the pit stop, was again in 3P but this time ran on FM1 and secured victory on lap eight when I started lapping the backpack

Honestly in the end I can’t complain, even though it seemed easy for me they still bring fun and that’s the point, have fun! 😎

They certainly aren't the same for everyone. In my case I was stuck behind backmarkers strolling two abreast with no room to pass without contact and trying to avoid them playing bumper cars with everything in sight, while Sternberg was doing 2'02s in the lead. The latter is already questionable for a presumably stock GT500 on hard tyres and the AI driving but that's how it was this time, the next attempt may be entirely different.

That's been fun (hard difficulty)...

weekly-challenge-202509w2-r1.webp

Monza - Nissan Skyline 2000GT-R (KPGC110) '73 - The car was already over the suggested PP so I didn't make any modifications. An easy win for the first ticket.

weekly-challenge-202509w2-r2.webp

Alsace - Toyota S-FR Racing Concept '16 - Another car that was already over the suggested PP, so I left it stock, including the SH tires. This took a couple tries as I learned the track and how to deal with the hard tires. This car is pretty tail-happy. I never quite figured it out, but I managed a P2 on my second attempt, which was enough for the second check mark.

weekly-challenge-202509w2-r3.webp

Laguna Seca - Honda N-ONE RS '22 - I can't remember if I upgraded the tires or stuck with the stock ones. This was a fun race. I only managed to catch the leader towards the end of the final lap. A win and the second ticket.

weekly-challenge-202509w2-r4.webp

Sainte-Croix - Nissan GT-R Safety Car - I upgrade the tires to SS and even so, I was caught off-guard by how early I needed to brake in this car. Despite running into the wall a few times, I was able to pretty easily work my way up the field for the win. Fourth box checked.

weekly-challenge-202509w2-r5-f1.webp

Spa - Attempt 1 - Lexus SC430 GT500 '08 - I started on RS tires, which lasted until I pulled into the pit on lap 5. I decided to go with RMs for the rest of the race. There was no rain. I didn't have to do any fuel saving, but I still finished some 40 seconds behind the winner in P7. It was pretty obvious that this car wasn't going to get me anywhere close to a podium. Time to try something else.

weekly-challenge-202509w2-r5.webp

Spa - Attempt 2 - Honda NSX CONCEPT-GT '16 - The NSX was much more competitive. I decided on a 5RM-5RM strategy from the start. I had to do some fuel saving to get the car to go 5 laps -- short-shifting at ~70% of the rev bar and switching to FM2 for the Kemmel straight. It got cloudy for the latter half of the race, but never rained. I played it pretty loose with the track limits at times, notably on my final move to take the lead going three-wide through Raidilon. Won by some 20 seconds for the final ticket.

Well surely enough, the Spa race has nothing to do with the actual difficulty selection. In my earlier attempts I was doing 2'00s after getting out of traffic while Sternberg had kept running those 2'02s in the lead so I was around 20 seconds behind when getting a clear road, and now I tried with a different tactic. My fastest lap was 2'07,0 and none of the AI bettered it for the first five laps (which is when I binned it on my own and quit) so the gap was the same 20-ish seconds, with the big difference that this time I was going for a no stopper. In other words being seven seconds slower on the same difficulty level gave a much easier race. Not like this PD, not like this.

The WTC900 is one of those races that may necessitate getting a new DualSense, a new TV, a new wheel, new knuckles and new walls. Anyone saying it's easy on hard difficulty is either lying, a GT god or crashing their way through it.
Which car did you use?

My fastest lap was 2'07,0
Sorry to point it out but this is your problem, you need to be driving much faster than this, I was doing 2’02-2’03’s to win comfortably in either tomahawk gr1 or rs5 dtm.

Stock gr2 is not fast enough to make it, it needs a tune. The AI have a boost function on power and braking to make them go faster than a stock car

Your problem is not reading the entire post or at least understanding it. When I was doing 2'00s the gap was the same as it was when I was doing 2'07s, it's a rubberbanding festival out there.

Ok bro if you’re doing 2’00 and still not coming first it’s not the Ai but rather your lack of consistency throughout the race and/or completely wrong fuel strategy.

Yes the Ai will have different finishing times as per below with rubber banding I’ve seen it

Maybe post a video of your driving and we can help point out anything obvious but with your attitude I couldn’t care really

I don't understand the hype around the weekly events. Apart from the special events, it's just recycling the races already in the game.
Not really, I mean okay maybe, but they limit the PP or change the type of car required, so you are forced to try a different car, I have all the cars in the game and I am trying to go through them, by setting the car list to most recent used and going to the bottom, put a racing livery on the car with my number and speccing up to the PP and wining, so each of my cars has won at least once.

I do like to use open cars so there are one or two cars I like to use a lot, I play in VR so these weeklies give me a reason to keep playing something new.

Only did the WTC 900 so far. As recommended by some of you guys, using the Audi which I bought exclusively for this week as I wanted to do it with a Gr.2. Told myself if I win all five races I'll get more back than the million I invested on that car :P

Played on normal difficulty here to have better chances to get 1st. Luckily, I had no rain at all. That Audi is fun, however it could be a touch faster for my taste. Just bought a mid-RPM turbo and adjusted the anti-roll bars a bit, no changes otherwise (well there isn't too much to change in the setup anyway ;) ). Those little adjustments I made already seemed to be a little too much as the car was more over-steering than I would have anticipated (given it's a Gr.2 car).

Ran with FM6 at start, later FM5. Pitted after lap 6, getting new RMs and full fuel. Was 2nd before pitting, 7th after. With FM1 for the rest of the race I became 1st in the last lap. I had one major incident which cost me about 4 secs, my HDMI signal went off for like one second which made me drive into the sand - so at that point I was relieved to have chosen normal instead of hard difficulty :)

So, after all, your recommendations helped getting 1st in a Gr.2 - thanks again!

So I still needed two more victories (top 3 finishes) to claim the half million dollar reward....
The N-One event wasn't much of a challenge but good fun nonetheless. I also enjoyed creating a new livery for this peach.

Then the infamous WTC 900 at Spa - 🌶️🌶️🌶️
1st try :
Started with a heavy tuned turbo Mclaren F1 GTR but despite the greater top speed and acceleration it wasn't tight enough in the corners, earning me a not too bad 8th place.

2nd try :
Porsche 962C with the bigger turbo. It did really well but still the lead was not within reach as it stranded on the 2nd place half a minute behind the NISMO GTR. Ticket price obtained but now I was heavily invested in this event, I just had to win this one....

not my livery
3rd time's a charm, and it took quite the specific vehicle, the Nissan GT-R LM NISMO. Finally I was racing towards the leader first half of the race and at lap 5 we both entered the pit when huge rain storms came down upon us out of nowhere. Being 4wd the LM had the advantage over the SUPER GT and with a bit of traffic I took the lead in lap 7. Yet the NISMO and also the RC F didn't lose eyesight of me and in the 8th lap I made a huge slide towards the bus stop chicane. I managed to hold my lead but they were all over me. We finished 123 with less than a second difference between us. The most exciting race, this is really a hard nut to crack!

Snail pace racing in the Citroen DS 21 Pallas '70. It even looks a bit like a snail haha.

I turned ABS off for this one. Not as difficult as expected. It seems like the older cars are easier to drive with ABS off compared to newer cars with ABS off.

If this is what it's like IRL I wouldn't want my ABS system to fail on the highway or in the wet.

Done and dusted with the WTC900. Took the Toyota GR out. Was slowly working my way up to first but those AI up top are crazy fast. Even v. my Gr.1? Impossible in real life. Anyway, rain was on the radar and I had to go in anyway for fuel and tires at the end of lap 6. Went for IM's and about a few minutes after I pulled out in 7th, the heavens poured. AI cars either went in for tires or like the two stupid Nissans that were originally in 1st and second, they went in just for fuel and stayed out on their worn RH's. Go figure. Won the race by over 30 seconds. I think that's it for me for this one. lol
