So the guy driving the mustang... What happened?

SVX
Was the guy alive after the crash?

I'm not sure what happened but the first pic of him just plowing over the tires makes me lol.

^Lol'd @ PB yes wrong but funny indeed, I should edit a caption that says "HOLD MY BEER AND WATCH THIS!"

Yes he survived, as well as the passenger not sure if they had minor injuries or not but they were able to get out of the car with some assistance.
My guess is this wreck wasn't a fatality because they managed to slump or lean as low as possible in the nick of time.
They probably don't even know how they survived and judging by the aftermath pic, I certainly would've expected a gruesome scene.
I'm pretty sure he wont be caught racing a car again without a proper cage, because I would surely take that type of experience as a life lesson learned.

I edited pic 7 to point out what they're referring to here.
You can see in the post-pancake-flipping images that the bolt-in roll cage simply punched through the floor, completely failing in its duty.

Incredibly, neither the driver nor passenger were injured in the accident. Reminds us why we prefer weld-in cages with big thick contact pads.

They were lucky.

PS:I don't want to keep you guys off topic so ;)

While sort of on the subject of unusual rally cars.

You mean Hondas beat BMWs in other countries too?

ROFL  Certainly an unpleasant site for the Bavarian fanboys.

^By the way that rally Supra is pretty wicked Joey D.

And speaking of roof racks, I know these aren't the type of imports we're talking about but I just had to share.

Even exotics rock the roof racks nowadays.

That evo with the roof rack looks fantastic! And the fact that its in a snowy environment makes me even more inpatient for it to snow here. I even swapped to my snow tires yesterday :D

Honestly, there aren't that many cars that can make a roof rack look good.. but the Mitsubishi Evolution is certainly one of them.

Point in case, this silver EVO VIII. Roof rack + low offset Volk TE37's = pure sex.

it seems that roof racks are newest ricer fad.. does that make Volvos JDM tyte because they come with those from the factory? :p

A roof rack shows that you like sports and work out. It's a jock thing.

Unless you work for a bike shop, like my brother. Then it becomes business. X3

No, Leonidae got it right. It's the JDM tyte thing to do nowadays, but the one on the Evo looks like it's being used actually, so it's alright.

I haven't seen anyone use the term jock to describe WRX/EVO owners. I think you meant Bro.

It's an athletic thing, racks are. If you drive around with them all the time, to me it says that you're gung-ho about outdoor sports...not hip-hop, which is what I associate with "Bro."

I may be behind on my slang, though. Wouldn't put it past me.

Yeah, a bit. Joke is the football/athlete type, not the outdoorsy type. Bro is Ken Block fan, loves snowboarding, and wants to have a WRX.

I still think I want a roof rack so I can actually tie crap to the top of my car. Plus I want a roof pod so when I go on long haul trips I don't have to shove the world in my car.

^ That is just simply, undeniably GODLY!

Although it looks fantastically awesome, I personally think it doesn't in terms of a drag car. Just the thought of an FWD car with drag tires at the front makes me think it's so wrong. Also, that thing won't squat half as much as an RWD car because there's no point for an FWD car to do so. And squattong RWD cars at the dragstrip is epic.

Looks: dead-sexy, function: meh...

This. I always feel weird when I see those Civics on Youtube going up the strip. Why would you drag an FWD car when the dynamics aren't as kind on acceleration as RWD cars? Sure its equal if the other car is FWD too, but its a bit like a hillclimb race where the participaters are all in funny cars (although not to the same extent).

Great shot though - its amazing, and the car looks tough.👍

Well, considering the class, it's not bad. I still prefer the Meguiar's Focus from a few years ago...

A 9 second quarter mile still ends up being a 9 second quarter mile, no matter if the car is fwd, rwd or awd...
