Some of the older photos posted on this page are mind-bogglingly good and a great example of what 'proper' photography is all about. I just love the photo of 168! Mitch Hemming's stuff is great too, although I do prefer a more natural look to car photos which is why I love the older stuff so much.
 
One of those things is a very highly engineered world-beating supercar, while the others are really fast entry-level sports coupes.

No GT-R has ever Been simply an "entry level sports coupe" and the latest one is surely not te exception. To me, all of them are world beating supercars in their own right taking into account the time of their release

Civics can be made to go very fast. Old GT-Rs are Skyline coupes that have been made very fast. The R35 is the first GT-R that isn't something cheap made to go very fast.
 
I can agree with what you said besides the "entry level" part which the GTR simply wasn't. That's what the preceding "base models" were. It was Nissan's flagship production car, after all.

That is also very much my thing. Think I saw that in a magazine feature not long ago. One of my favourite BTCC cars ever.

i spent an hour with the owners of both the audi and the ford today just awesome finding out the ins and outs of these cars. Got the full tour of the mondeo and speaking with the guy that owns it i found out he also has 2 prodrive mondeos (the rapidfit ones!) and a group c le mans car, the guy with the audi as well as 2 of them.

Yeah, that's definitely the one I'm thinking of then. There was a feature on his 94 and 00 Mondeos in an issue of Performance Ford or one of those ones. He probably told you this too but the 94 was his main race car but that duty is being handed over to the newer ones now. Not surprised, as they'll all have had a hard life!

He said he never drives the old mondeo any more in fact that was the first time in 3 years. Did it say where he's from? Someone told me Dundee but he sounded welsh.
