I must applaud Kaz for still not considering scantily clad women a neccesity in a racing game.

That is all.

I beg to differ. Not having scantily clad paddock / grid girls wielding umbrellas shield my virtual self on the grid prior to the start of a race is severely inhibiting my immersion factor.

I can already feel my immersion factor growing....

Well, unlike all the other responses (Philistines!), I must say, the fact that I never really noticed it was missing until you mentioned it says something about the game not needing it. Could you imagine a game like NFS without the basically soft-porn-naked female 'characters'?

And for those shouting "Are you gay?!?!?!?1111" etc., be careful you don't cross into 'protesting too much' territory. Just sayin'.

This is actually something most racing sims are lacking. Pit girls are an essential part of the racing atmosphere.

I'd love it if we could have something like this as a photomode location or as one of the screensavers in the main menu.

Besides Porsche, Grid Girls are the one thing NFS Shift has over GT5.
There's nothing like a hot babe in bikini to rev your engine, if you know what I mean. :)

I find this image both immersive and engaging 👍

I agree, although normal looking women or girls as part of the audience or photographers are appreciated. PD probably allocated their resources to something more important.

I'm not gay, I just don't think attractive women are important in a racing game. Or, for that matter, at an actual race.

(I can tell this is already heading away from "Gran Turismo 5" towards "Opinions & Current Events)

Would I have to look at scantily clad men if playing against a female opponent?

What if my opponent was gay, could they select a same sex grid person to hold their umbrella?

What about religious beliefs, would their be grid people dressed to meet their drivers religious beliefs?

Now this is a can of worms that noone needs to navigate, let alone facilitate. A compromise could be grid monkeys. Maybe dressed in bikini's to stop them throwing anything at my car.
