Hey,
So I decided to do the 1000 km Suzuka endurance race yesterday. I figured out that you can start it in one of 3 different climates, so to speak. It's supposed to be in the rain. The first time I went in was to see what cars I'd be up against and it was raining. So I exited it, went and got a different car and came back. I went to start it and found it was cloudy but not raining. So, for grins and giggles I exited again and then restarted it. Sunny and blue and skies. ??? Anyway, I went back to my garage, grabbed my F1, equipped it with the racing soft tires and started the race with the cloudy climate. I started spanking the competition...so much so that I had all the cars lapped 7 times within the first 25 laps. At lap 33 it started to rain a bit and the car was starting to lose grip at the rear just a little bit so I figured I'd pit and put on the rain tires. Simple enough right? Wrong. My pit crew had other ideas. I went into pit lane, selected the rain tires and headed on out. Not only could I not keep the car on the track, I was lucky if I could get it over 90 mph without the @$$ end going all over the place. I immediately pitted again to put the racing softeez back on. So what do I see when the prompt menu comes up..? The racing hard tires had been selected! I didn't pick those. So, then I chose the rain tires again and headed on out. At this point my 7 lap lead is down to 5 laps. And again, the car was all over the place. I pitted, got the prompt menu to choose my tires and what do I see..again..? This time the racing intermediate tires were selected!! I did not make these selections in any way, shape, or form. WTF is going on here?! Has anybody else had this happen? Am I missing something? This hasn't happened on any other endurance race or any race in general.
Any ideas?
