increase/decrease speed etc

Hi, I know about tuning up your cars, but how do you increase or decrease the speed? For example, of the GT5 cars, I need to know what screen to go on and what buttons to press to alter speed.

The worst thing is I've done it only once before, but I can't remember how I did it.

I presume you are talking about top speed, you can change this by buying a fully tunable transmission for your car. Then go to your garage or tune up before a race, go to transmission, select the dial sysmbol, and you can edit your gear ratio in there to be longer and thus higher max speed
