Not sure if there's a thread for it already, but would like to see who's got the fastest time around Indianapolis 500.

I just got the "Human Stopwatch" trophy clocking the Indy @ 3:30.406 around it..

Please post yours. :)

With that time you're doing really good and very close to the trophy. You should be able to pass the last car twice in the 5 laps around it.

It's obvious one can't hit the grass, the walls or the corner pads, or else those miliseconds will cost you losing 2-3 seconds in the whole race.

Human stop watch trophy is for getting 3 consecutive laps within 0.2 of each other, nothing to do with how fast the lap/total time is.

I have been getting 36.8's with the Toyota Minolta...not easy, you just have to be SUPER SMOOTH in the corners and try not to scrub off too much speed. ;) Also, it is fully tuned with racing SOFT tires and top speed set around 242 I think...you will have to change this and NEVER let off the gas!

lol thanks for clarifying that. I thought it had to do with how fast you went around the track.

I'm doing the race with the '89 Mercedez Sauber C9 Race Car ;)

If you are doing 36.8", then you're going faster than me. What's the total 5 laps time?

good lord, i tought i was doin good at 42.4 in my zr-1 rm. i saw the minolta mentioned, is that what everyone is running? i just got mine and havent tested it yet.

I set consistent 40.9xx-41.0xx sec times grinding Like the Wind in my 908. I would get the Human Stopwatch every race if I hadn't gotten it the first day I had GT5 on Tsukuba. 0_o

My fastest total time for the 5 laps with the Minolta is just under 3:25.00...not sure exactly but I can't run 36.8's consistently with a controller so it tends to hurt me when I'm not smooth all the time, but it is hard to be that smooth and consistent with a controller. I'm sure I would do much better if I had my wheel setup. I currently don't have a sturdy enough table or stand to put it up on... :(

^That's fast! I'll try it again with the Minolta once it's fully tuned.

I don't have a wheel, so fot me it's a controller as well. I find using the analog stick much better than the D-pad once you get used to it.

I got this during the Miata 4hr endurance race................. 200+ laps it was bound to happen eventually i guess rofl.

Been doing about 38.3's lately.. bumped the top speed to 259 and I'm hitting 241 on the straights :)

I found the higher I set my top speed on the Minolta, the slower the corners are for me...but of course it leads to more speed on the straights. With the gearing I have set now, It never dips below 225 in the turns. And you almost have to use the analog stick to steer because it is so much more precise than the d-pad. I hated GT PSP because the steering, whether using d-pad or stick, was all the way one way or all the way the other, NO in between. Like on PS2 and PS3, the buttons are touch sensitive which is a million times more precise.

3:16.260 is my best overall time (Like The Wind race - tuned MINOLTA). Thats cutting every corner (those slip roads on the inside of the track) and getting a slip on lap 4 from the straggler vertigo car (poor guy sits on the limiter the whole race).

Best lap is a 37.82 (with a slipstream up to 260 mph on one straight) but typical lap times are 38.0s (~246 mph on the straights) (thats cutting the corners). Without cutting the corners 38.3's / 3:17 for the event.

Without Corner Cutting and using the Tuned Minolta I usually Average 3.22.5 for the 5 Laps

I've been round Indy so many Times in either the /like the Wind or the American Championship i've done over 1500 miles on that Track

I'm only suprised I havn't worn a Groove in the Surface :D
