Infineon Enduro Race

What did you use to beat the Infineon Enduro race when on B-spec?
I've tried just about every race car (Minolta, Nissan, GT-One) and still can't place better then 2nd. At first I tried using "4" but he made way too many mistakes, so I set it back to "3". I always use RSH in back and RH in front.
So far the only options I see for beating this race is doing it a-spec for the majority of it, or using my Formula car. Neither sounds very appealing. Suggestions?

Take one of those cars, put medium race tires on the front and back, set it to 3 and turn overtake on... Works well with all endurance races where there is no restriction on make or tire choice. You will pit more often than the other cars, but the faster lap times will make up for it.

Yeah, my B-Spec driver sucks at Infineon too. His stats are 7300 pits and 87/73/72. I keep wondering when he's going to get better at that track, but he keeps going off on the same spots. Even in 3 he goes off on those spots just less often and when he does go off he spins completely and spends 20 seconds or more trying to get out of the sandbox.

I think my nieghbors think I'm crazy or really angry at my cat because I'll be yelling "Get your @$$ out of the $%$#%^& box you *&^$^*((% idiot" at 2:00am. :)

My daughters and wife think I'm a lunatic also. So, don't feel like your alone.
I have tried several different approaches to winning at Infineon, all of them have gone down in bright big flames. Only A-Spec, A-spec/B-Spec together and just B-Spec nothing has worked. Might just have to see how far and fast a PS2 w/ GT4 cd flys.

I'll keep you posted on that, if my next attempt goes south as well :banghead:

That track is so much fun, why would you choose to b-spec it?

That track is so annoying. In fact i belive that to be the second most annoying track on the game. after fuji 2005 that is. The only people who like infineon are americans

I LOVE Infineon!! It's brilliant! And I'm British! I don't know why I like it so much, I think it was when I had a fantastic race in the American Muscle series in my Chevelle, against a Special and a Super Bee, looked awsome in the replay! I've liked the track ever since.

Except what happened today when I lost control of my Yellow Bird around the twisty grassy park (If you get me) in the Supercar chamionship on the last lap... :nervous:

infineon sucks. they should have put road america instead. its the best road course in the U.S,

Road America is to the U.S what Spa-Franchorchamps is to Belgium

I won that race with the sauber and b-spec. My driver was also crap with stats in the 20's. Hard tires up the front and medium on the back. In order to break away from the fastest nissan, I had to manually instruct my driver to slow down and speedup on different corners each lap as the tires started to go off. There a couple of corners in the first part of the track that b-spec cannot make unless in cruise mode. It was definitely my most difficult enduro so far.

Dude! That's exactly what made me love the track! I won by about three-tenths of a second. Nerve-wracking race, that. To be honest, I was suspicious of it when I realized it wasn't the NASCAR layout, I dominate that in NASCAR Thunder 2004. But that race was awesome! The downhill sweeper before the straight leading to the hairpin is pure adrenaline! This is currently my favorite non-Nurb real life track in the game (haven't raced on de la Sarthe yet)

Le Sarthe is cool, but mainly best for really fast cars. Because of a) shaking dfp down Mulsanne Straight :sly: b) long, boring Mulsanne Straight without shaking dfp :dopey: c) Most of the turns are pretty wide and intended for high speeds.

I'd have to say my favorites are Nurburgring and Infineon as well. I prefer the sportscar course over stock car.

I think you should put super hard race tires on and use my enduro strategy, run in A-Spec and when you pit switch to B-Spec, when you pit again switch back to A-Spec, and just do that over and over.

I B-Spec'd it with my Bently Speed 8 set to 4 and overtake and with slightly softer suspension and Hard tyres on the front and Super Hard tyres on the back. I only won by 1min thou 👎

Well I'm glad to see so many suggestions, so keep them coming. Just want to add that Infineon is a wonderful track, but I might just be saying that because I've actually raced it in real life and had a blast. Road America is a premier track too and it would be nice to see it in the game. So we will leave it at that, until someone starts a new thread entitled "The Best and Worst Tracks."

Race it in B-Spec with the 1,200 hp Toyota Minolta 88C-V. When you pit, change over and race in A-Spec mode for a two or three pit stops. I did 45 laps, and gained a good enough lead that the B-SPEC driver couldn't blow. I would race the enitre thing in A-SPEC but that Toyota is the only car I have tp beat the competition and I can't stand playing it for more than an hour at a time. It sounds very annoying to me.

In TOCA race driver 2 Road america would was also one of the most annoying tracks why would we want that in GT? The US do have some good tracks, Leguna Seca is a timeless classic which i love but i really dont like the other two mentioned.

I used Toyota GT-One for this one, and it was easy. my driver doesn't run out from the track, because I've trained him at the 'Ring..

and I used F1 for that super speedway 150 miles race, because other cars didn't like to turn in that tighter end of the track.. :guilty: I feel like cheater when using F1.. it's just too easy to win with that..

Well my guy has raced a total of 28 hours at the 'ring, in the Minolta, and he still sucks. But I only have 5800 b-spec points and I heard that you need 7000 before he gets any good.

I used the BMW Motorsport Mclaren F1 GTR... did well... won by a few laps... My B-spec points are 6000+ I'm doing the 200mile race in New York now with the same car lol...

I used an Audi R8, like with most endurance races. My driver was around 3000 points back then and did go off the track here and there, but it all worked out. Now he's getting close to 7000 and is better, though what was once a brand new R8 is not too happy with nearly having 18,000 miles on it already.

well, my B-Spec driver ( I refer him as The Stig  ) has over 7300+ points I don't remember the skill numbers at the moment.. but, he is able to run Speed twelwe with no driver assists on  crazy man indeed.. :scared: he did under 7 minutes in stock Speed 12 in the 'Ring..

Wierd - I've always hated Laguna Seca, but love both Sears Point (I hate the name Infineon) and Elkhart Lake (also hate Road America).

Horses for courses (or racers for circuits!). I also like Mid-Ohio in the US, and Lime Rock Park and Sebring would be other goodies
