hey everybody!for all of you fans out there that like Initial D as much as I do,then this information may be useful to you...seeing as I just read another Initial D Manga by Tokyopop like, last week and I noticed how AWFULLY BAD they did on giving the characters different names,I just thought I'd announce that they plan on doin' the same thing to the actual anime when it comes to America!let's just hope that it won't be the same way in Subtitled..keep it original damnit!!anyways, here's the article I found on an anime website while lookin' for some Initial D merchandise
!
"TOKYOPOP has announced a number of changes they are making to the manga and anime versions of Initial D. TOKYOPOP has the rights to the manga, anime, and merchandising of Initial D in America. TOKYOPOP has insisted on keeping Japanese place names and customs, but will change character names. The new names are as follows:
"So, Takumi becomes Tak, and Itsuki becomes Iggy, and Bunta & Kenji become Bunta & Kenji (wait, those arent good examples - gomen!), and Wataru Akiyama becomes Aki, and Keisuke Takahashi becomes K.T."
These names will be present throught the anime, manga, and other Initial D merchandise, including video games. The dubbed anime is being aimed at network television and some content will be edited for standards. However, unedited, subtitled versions will be available."
---------------------
and there ya have it..somethin' I really wish they wouldn't do...but I don't know,am I the only one that thinks this,or do any of you guys out there care if they were to change Bunta's name to Bob or somethin' like that, just so american's could understand it,and how to pronounce it,cause americans seem to think that the names of Takumi Fujiwara,Bunta Fujiwara,Itsuki,Natsuki,Nakazato,etc.. are to "complex" to understand on how to pronounce..so am I the only one who seems to feel this way,or how do you guys feel about this situation?

P.S. oh yeah, the whole changin' Bunta to Bob was just an example of what they might do,just so people will understand it..*whispers softly to himself* please don't do it Tokyopop..please don't do it Tokyopop..please don't do it Tokyopop..hopefully they're not reading this
