what do you mean how do I explain the drifting and AE86 part?Dude...I'm a person just as yourself...I have certain likings as well you know.Just because I like Shounen-Ai/Yaoi,doesn't mean I can't like any of this "normal" stuff other people likes.I mean comeon...you make it seem like I'm a completely different species or something >_>...

You certainly sound like one.
It's like you put forth an effort to emote with symbols instead of just words, like the other humans. I see where he gets it.

So is it the homo-pr0n part that you like? Or just the fact that it's two males? I don't have any huge problem with gays, other than their lifestyle being personally revolting, but that isn't politically weighty enough to make a difference. But tolerance doesn't mean you should enjoy its existence.

And you're not gay...?
 
*sighs softly* well...I don't really know how to say this too well..since I don't like to be TOO open about this..since I get insulted a lot because of it...but I'll tell you this...it's not just ANY two guys,it has to be two guys that I've seen before and I know how they act or what they are like...such as how I like the pairing of Fuji and Kikumaru from prince of Tennis...I like that pairing the most because I understand both of them completely and I'm attracted by the charisma that they send off of their bodies..such as like an attracting aura of some sort....I don't really know why I am like this really..I just woke up one day and I had feeling for Fuji..well...I didn't just wake up and have the feelings,they had built up to that extent of course..and my newest pair liking is of Shuichi and Yuki from the anime Gravitation (that's the pairing in my avatar right now..Shuichi is the guy with the pink hair and the blond haired guy is Yuki).Sometimes I just think I like the way some of these guy characters look because they somewhat have a characteristic to them that makes them look SOMEWHAT like a girl...of what I used to like.But...well..like I said,I'm not too well at explaining this yet,but maybe I will be when I am able to understand myself better.Sorry for such the crappy explaining...

well yes,I know...but you just seemed to be continuously bother me about it.I know how I am,you don't have to keep reminding me..and I still don't see what's so weird about liking drifting and AE86s..I can like the same things as other people can't I?

Cano is an anime fan, but he doesn't like drifting, and he's highly suspicious of AE86 fans in general. So don't let it bother you.

In the end, he lives were he lives, and you live where you live, so don't feel the need to justify your feelings to anybody.

Anime, or real life - you like what you like, and that's up to you.

I apologize for bringing this old thread back from the dead, but I have to correct something here.

An "Otaku" is not a fan of anime, or even an obsessed fan.

Otaku is an insult. It is derived from a term for "house", and implies that the person never leaves their house, they are so obsessed with whatever it is they're obsesed with. The american anime fan tradition of calling themselves otaku is stupd.

Now, as for Initial D, they really have ruined it. Initial D was always weak in the area of animation. What really made the series was the writing, voice acting, and music. All of those are gone in the Dubbed version. They truly have ruined the series.

Oy minna =^.^=!!Sorry for not posting in here in such a while ^.^;;...I've been busy with my christmas presents,hehe.I got Prince of Tennis - Smash Hit 2! for my Japanese PS2,along with DDR 8th Mix -Extreme-,along with Phantasy Star Online for my XBox and finally..Super Dimension Fortress Macross also for my Japanese PS2 =D.I also got the OST for Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex (very good by the way ^.^) along with two metal dance pads for 8th Mix,hehe.So I had a very good christmas!What about everyone else?I hope all of you also had a nice christmas and came into the year 2004 with good hopes ^.^.Well...I don't want to ramble about just cause I haven't been here for a while,so I'll try to keep it short..hehe *laughs softly* eh...well...I've been busy so far watching the series Dear Boys,which is a basketball for people who have never heard the series,so please don't think by the title that it's a series of Shounen-Ai or Yaoi,lol XD!So all of you that may have been weary about wanting to watch this,well..now it's been confirmed...it's JUST A BASKETBALL ANIME!NO WORRIES!lol!well....I'm only up to episode 11,but so far so good,hehe =D.*scratches his head lightly* eh...is it just me or is this a BIG coincedence though...the captain of Mizuho (basically the main school the show is based about),his name is Takumi Fujiwara o_O...I wonder if the same people who made Initial D made this...they seem to use the same CG effects @_@.Oh well..before I bore you all,I guess I'll go change my signature..gomen *bows lightly*.Oh,and by the way..I just wanted to point out two things...I know Otaku probably doesn't mean fanboy or anything like that,but you have to think about it this way as well....the Japanese have words that mean multiple things.I heard of one word that meant,house,horse and something else and I was like,"wow...that would be confusing...wanna come over to my -insert Japanese word here- horse?" haha,well...I don't know much about Japanese language yet,so I'm not in the position to argue with someone who does know,hehe...sorry ^.^;;.And one more thing...yes,Initial D had some kinda bad quality animation,and despite the music along with the well written script,would you not have still watched it?I mean...comeon...let's look at Robotech >_>;.I love that series,but the animation probably can't even come close to the newer animes.So I mean,the quality can't be EVERYTHING to the anime,but it does help ^.^.*mumbles* kinda found that out the hard way...*glances over at his collection of Gundam X* eh...bad quality >_>;;....ANYWAYS!Sorry to bore you all,hehe...have a nice day minna =^.^=!!

Umm, speaking of Dear Boys being by the same creators as Initial D, isn't that the anime with the Initial D 4th Stage preview?

(Characters go to a movie, movie is Initial D, CG footage of the AE86 racing an NA6C (Miata / MX5/ Roadster) is seen)
 
yep,that's the anime,hehe ^.^.I believe it's in episode 13?I'm not too sure,but I'm gonna enjoy seeing that,hehe =D.Well...ummmm...got any details about 4th Stage by the way?Cause the last time I heard,it was supposed to be aired in Japan in February some time.Is that still true or did they push it back?Oh,and I know it sounds ridiculous,but I'm also wanting to see the Live Action Initial D that's supposed to be produced by...none other than...Jackie Chan O_O.Quite an odd director if ya ask me,lol.But either way...it should be interesting,even though most people say Live Action isn't that good..and for the most part,they're right..but I have seen some pretty good Live Action movies as well =^.^=.Such as Great Teacher Onizuka XD!

Who cares if there are changes of Initial D? That does not matter to me because I do not mind the changes. And yes, I like Initial D no matter whatever changes there are :D :cool:
 
well..that's nice to hear that you like Initial D even after it's changes,but...*points at Takumi's signature* "I was into Initial D BEFORE it was anything in the US." I'm with him on that...I saw Initial D about two years ago and was talking about it with a couple of my friends,but now...*shakes his head* I don't dare speak a word of it at school,cause all you'll hear now is,"yeah man!That Mazda's the bomb!That Skyline is the s**t dude!" instead of,"Initial D?what's that?" like how it used to be...well,in my own opinon,I just think it was better when hardly anybody knew about it,rather than talking about it so much and playing it out ya know?Oh well...that's just my opinon though.I'm just glad I got to see the original episodes where they had Eurobeat and better names ^.^

WHAT?!?!?! How can you like it with the changes Tokyopop made? I could hardly sit through the first episode! And the voice acting was so bad that I could hardly take the series seriously. Not to mention the HORRIBLE music, the name changes, and, worst of all the AWFUL writing. (Yo, Tak, let's go bust some skillage on mount Akina tonight!)

As for 4th Stage, I'm hearing March.
 
WELL!!!! I do not understand YOUR portion of what you guys see the script of Initial D. Oh yeah sure, I do like Initial D, but I do not care about the changes!
 
Lol, simultaneous post!!!!

But, anyway, I really hate how it's getting popular. I was walking through Little Tokyo the other day, heading to my favorite anime store, and there were a bunch of kids looking at the window display. One of them said "Initial D!", and another one said "yeah, it's K.T.'s FD!" I almost cried.

By the way, for an indication of just how hardcore of a fan I am.....

I have to TOTALLY agree with you Takumi ^.^!Someone asked at school,"hey,have you seen the episode where Tak went against K.T. down that mountain?" and i just replied back with a,"yeah...I've seen the whole series" (I wasn't even about to get into it with him using them horrible names >_>) and he just called me a liar then walked off O_O.I HAVE seen the whole series,but he didn't believe me when I had told him about there being a Second Stage or a Third Stage -.-...ah,oh well.It's just really cheap though if you talk about it at school now,cause if you do hear talk about Initial D,it's always something like,"yeah,Tak is a pretty bad dude!" or something really cheap...it just makes me cringe when I heard the horrible butchering of the names thanks to Tokyopop -.-.But anyways...yes,I have to COMPLETELY agree with you Takumi..I liked it MUCH better when it was less popular.Cause now,even when I go up to the arcade and someone is on the Initial D machine,you'll hear someone ask,"who you racin' man?",then you'll hear the worst reply..."aw dude,I'm racin' Zack (or feel free to substitute any of the other horrible names here)".It's just stupid really...but oh well..it can't be helped now.And whenever I try to talk to someone about the music of Initial D,they ask me something along the lines of,"How can you listen to that?Those chinks voices are too high and you can't understand what they say" grrrr...it pisses me off,but *sighs* like I said..there's nothing we can do about it now.Me,personally..I do NOT wish to be tortured by watching or even hearing the dubbed version of Initial D,I shall wait till 4th Stage to come out.Thanks for the info by the way Takumi =D!Well...sorry for such the long post about basically whining over Tokyopop messing up such a great anime.Oh,and on one more note...I wouldn't suggest reading their attempt at manga either >_>...I don't really think they made good translations..and personally,I don't think I'd like to see Takumi call anyone else a dickweed -.-...(referring to when he races Shingo)

One funny thing, a few months ago, I was talking about Initial D, and someone posted a picture, and said "hope you don't turn into this guy" "or I hope you're not like this guy" or something. The pic was of one of the guys from my cosplay group! :lol:
 
this is soo bad why can ID be the same. Oh well at least it hasnt hit AUS as bad yet. the only ppl who know about ID are the ones who have seent eh Japanese version. so hopefully it doesnt get too bad here
