Ya that.... orrrrrrr you could just remove it from the playlist. Just sayin.

Orrrrrr.. you could go try that and come back here and eat your words. Need some salt?

I don't know how anybody can say GT5 is not worth 60 dollars (40 pounds, for me).

In England, £40 won't even get me and my girlfriend a decent mean. Let's say i did get a decent meal for £40. We consume that meal in an hour, two tops.

GT5 is giving me hundreds of hours of entertainment.

What we are complaining about is that, the last time we went to this restaurant, for our $60 we got a full meal. This visit, we got an appetizer for our $60. Perhaps YOU would take this treatment in a restaurant, me, I'd consider I got shafted.

GT5 is giving us hundreds of hours of entertainment. But last time, we got THOUSANDS...

It'd be nice if PD included race modification options to go with some of these new premium cars. I'm sure that would sweeten the deal for some people.

lol. Alright you got me. You are right you can't remove it. My bad. You should just try turning off all BGM or setting up your own playlist. Orrrrrrr... does that not work either?

Maybe for you, it is a half meal.

But sorry, the $60 of GT5 gives you more content than most other racing games. Always to compare with GT4 is BS, because you just need to compare with other games.

I bought games for $60, which were worth half of the prize. GT still justifies a full prize, even when it has less content than GT4.

Surely you mean just cars by that content? Because the rest of the said content in gt5 is really small and short. The amount of races and the online aspect are certainly far less than in most racing games.

The biggest problem as I see it for gt5 is the lack of content. There are many cars but other than that...

of course, every part like events and online mode have GT-style character and are far less spectacular. But have a look to the thread "GT3 vs GT5****". There you have some good facts about GT5 like number of events etc.

When I compare the number of events with NFS Hot Pursuit, HP can not beat GT5 or when, then with just a few more events.

Of course, you can nt compare both, because HP has a whole county as race track. But just collect facts and compare it with oher games and you can see, that GT5 hasn´t less content.

What most are complaining about are the lags in every part of the game. But in view of A-Spec-events, GT4 had to offer more, but not better or more enjoyable. Same boring passing of events one after another.

You can set your own playlist to replace the BGM. I've been thinking about making a triphop list for this for a while.

Back OT, I would pay huge gobs of money for more tracks - not much for new cars. I don't see the fascination with car count or the latest models to be honest.

Consider taking a 458 Italia out on Spa - what is most enjoyable? That you're driving an Italia or that you're driving on SPA?

More tracks please.

If they even think of charging us for premium cars it would be THE biggest insult to GT fans ever in history.
"We only had 6 years and didnt have time to create all premium cars so we will just finish the cars later and charge you for them" 👎:ouch:
Hopfully this truly is just a rumor and if they do release DLC for the cars that were not finished, it should be free DLC. Its not our fault PD could not finish the game with 6 years of development. Why punish us?

I wouldnt mind paying the extra money to get some of the standard cars into premium

It really has. Yes, it has 1000 cars but they're useless without anything to do with them, and we all know there are lots of near identical models in there or models nobody is going to drive. The overall content of the game is woefully small, the only thing making it artificially longer are the XP/Level restrictions. Without those you could plough through the game very quickly, without even touching 850 odd cars.

Exactly, I'm willing to pay another €20 just to see all the race cars (LM, SuperGT) become premium.

What about make them as prize cars for new events? But paying for those events, when you don't get the cars from the get to go?

Just charging for a handful of cars that are already in the game to be premium is not enough for anyone but the folks that love hot-lapping...

But if they add actual game play content like more events and other features then I would gladly pay... An honestly this is the best way to "slip" more premium models into the game...

I guess what I'm saying is I pay for play time... if it gives me more play time great! If I look at the hours sunk in GT5 now it nets out as like 5 cents and hour... or less... the game has payed for itself in entrainment investment.

I can't stand what FM3 did, added a track and it wasn't integrated into single player at all so the only way to enjoy it was online... in a private lobby... or in "arcade" mode.

Not to mention anything sold on PSN seems to cost double what anyone else charges... XBLA, iTunes, etc. all have rich content that costs half what Sony charges so I really hope they have the content to justify the costs... as this is wildly inconsistent on PSN... Anyone want to pay $13 for a stupid private home-space on PSN home? LOL

I get your complaint, you'd like your download content to be integrated into the single player game- which I'd agree, would be cool. The problem with this is that the title would be truly incomplete at the time of release. Because of this, DLC (specifically tracks) are really only good for hotlaps and online play. Kinda the nature of the beast. With GT, I'm guessing we could see DLC tracks which are used in seasonal events . . . but I really don't find these "ladder" challenges to be racing. All in all the Seasonal Events just seem like an XP/Credit correction by PD, to me at least . . .

There was no problem with Shift adding in additional events for the new tracks we got with the Exotic pack. Single player mode added them seamlessly to the menus, and the DLC was part of a patch for the main game where, even if you didn't pay for it, if an opponent HAD payed for the DLC cars, you got to see him drive them (but couldn't drive them yourself). Only thing you couldn't do, if you didn't get the DLC was drive the new tracks.

If the game has only ONE path to leveling up, then there might be issues. But as XP and cash aren't race specific, I don't see how some people having the DLC and others not would pose any issues...

They should rename GT5 BR5. Budget Racing because off
all the complaints over what things cost. From the thrustmaster to this. Racing isn't cheap guy's. Pony up or go home.

Indeed. Racing isn't. Video games, though...

I'm on the fence about spending money on cars that are turned Premium. On one hand, I'm sure there will be some I really want. On the other; the Standards in-game are such an obvious "important bullet point" content addition that I shouldn't have to pay for them to be brought up to a standard that isn't 6+ years old. If any other racing game shipped with a car lineup eight-tenths composed of content that's at least half a decade old (and some of it pushing an entire decade), it'd be criticized eight ways from Sunday.

Speaking of, there was plenty of criticism about other games "ripping people off" for charging $5 or so for car packs (when the cars being added were actually new to the series)...

We'll see how PD handles this.

The way I feel is that if they had done it right to begin with, no one would get charged. The had plenty of time for this. There are 1000+ cars in the game. I would probably only use 10-20% of that regularly. I won't be paying for Premium cars. Maybe in large packs, 10 or more. Otherwise I can wait til GT6. Now DLC tracks, I won't hesitate to purchase. No questions asked.

I have never heard of a company charging for features upgrade, which is basically this. It doesn't count as new content, given the cars are in the game with limited features. In my eyes, essentially all 1000 cars should have been of the same quality to begin with, and they shouldn't charge us for bringing all the cars up to par.

Touche PD, create a half finished game then charge money to buy the remaining 50%. They got us good.

KY may have forgotten how to make a good racing sim but you could never accuse him of being a poor businessman

Yes, it does not count as new content (still debatable, same cars but different). They told us 800 cars were standard before we bought the game, so i do not see it as "it should have been there in the first place". If i felt cheated about the 800 standard cars, i would not have bought the game in the first place.

And I was not willing to wait another year or more to have all remaining cars as premium, so i'm glad i have this problem rather than waiting some more.

So PD bring 'em on! :)

It's just that I want those 200+ A-Spec events back BEFORE I am going to pay for any new tracks (don't give a toss about Standard to Premium upgrades unless it involves MUCH more accurate handling models). I payed for a game that I thought would at least have parity with GT4 in events you could drive. There might have been advance warning that GT5 would only have 200 Premium's, but there sure wasn't any advance warning that GT5 would have only 30% of the events to play in A-Spec.

If PD got the time to work on Premiumizing Standard cars, or scanning tracks (or making new fantasy ones), then they got time to sit down and come up with a bunch of new A-Spec. It's not rocket science. Take them less than a week.

Why are we waiting?

I don't think anything will get added to A/B spec due to something called the progress percentage in your profile. What happens if you reach 100% right now, and then a week later PD adds new A-spec events? The seasonal events are not part of your game progress, so they are an exception. I think as far as events go, the game is finished.

Sorry, but if you had finished GT5 with 100%, and PD added 200+ new events, so now you were at 30% game completion (wouldn't take any programming to adjust the stat), would you honestly COMPLAIN??

Maybe your goal is to FINISH the game. Mine is to PLAY it. They can keep moving the bar as many times as they like! The more, the better! :)

I really don't care about premium cars. I hope they don't make them at all, so don't care if they cost money or not. I hope PD don't waste their time on premiumizing or any other graphical nonsense until after I get my event generator.

Haha, event generator? It's called arcade mode

They told us 800 cars were standard before we bought the game, so i do not see it as "it should have been there in the first place".

No they didn't. They made vague notions about what the Standard Cars meant for the final game (including making completely unfounded assertions that they would be improved in some way over their original forms), then proceeded to completely and totally bury them in a blatant attempt to keep what was obviously going to be a huge and very well-deserved sticking point for the final game under the radar until after it came out. They then made huge talks around the game's features, like the car count, without making any mention of the intentional limitations placed on over 80% of the roster, as well as specifically treating everything as a single tier of quality.
And regardless of whether or not it is acceptable to to load up your advertising around a mythical 1000 cars asterix in a way that basically makes the infomation a bald-faced lie (and it is not), the fact that PD went out of their way to prevent them from having functionality enjoyed by their premium brethren (let alone how they lack functionality that they had in previous games) is completely indefensible.

The fact of the matter is that they really should have been like that in the first place, and with the absolutely pathetic effort expended at actually having a quality standard in the first place (for example, Standard and Premium versions of cars rather than just Premiums, among other things), makes the "they should be rewarded for their post-game work" mentality pretty shaky. I already paid my money for the work they should have done before they released the game. I'm not going to pay for it afterwards just because they feel they could get away with doing it afterwards.

I would love if the dlc was free, but they have to be a completely idiots if they would give them for free. "They have to make a living" don't you expect that they are already making money?
