Aycorumba, you make it sound like this is on top of the VXR8.:sly: This is supposed to slot in under the VXR8. Then again, if I remember correctly and the story was truthful, around The Ring at least, it is very quick indeed, possibly quicker than the VXR8 even.

I wasn't saying it was gonna be on top of the VXR8, I was just saying it might be even better that thew VXR8 overall. I have quite literally, loved every VXR Vauxhall has made, especially the VXR8 (my favorite Vauxhall of all time). I just think that something as far as an Insignia would be very nice indeed, and I'm hoping it reaches the VXR8's capabilities in general. 👍

I can't wait to (hopefully) see it on Top Gear.:)

I could see this in Buick form. With a Grand National Badge...

Just disconnect the front wheels, and you'll have your GNX...

I know you haven't been around for a bit, but my frustration with GM over issues like this, particularly the absurd timelines that have been put forth on international models (The Cruze, Orlando, Insignia, Spark, etc) are driving me up the wall. If the company is on the verge, but knows they need great cars to get people back in the dealerships, THEN GET THE DAMN THINGS HERE.

I wonder if it's just auto enthusiast that think that way? The average consumer probably doesn't care what they drive as long as it's the badge they want at the price they are will to spend. Maybe that's just the domestic happy stupidity of SE Michigan though.

Maybe that's where my illogical Ford love has been coming from?

Nah, it's just that Ford understands how the market works and actually produces cars people want. All they have to do now is bring the Euro-Focus and Mondeo over and they'll be set.

That would be "XWD," or "Cross-Wheel-Drive." Its the new Generation IV Haldex all-wheel-drive system, a mish-mosh of a bunch of fancy controllers to produce an outstandingly stable car in all conditions. As the awesome goes, apparently its good for sports sedans and light-duty crossovers (9-3X comes to mind). Still, it isn't cheap. Although, I'd be very interested to see it stacked up against the VW 4MOTION and BMW xDrive systems as they've been updated as well.

So really it's a fancy way of saying all four wheels spin, gotcha.

They will hate it, it's a Vauxhall. I am curious to see the reviews on it though to see how the understeer is.

What do you call the '10 Fusion? Granted, I don't think transforming it into a Sexy Mondeo would be as simple as a GT-S-to-Levin-swap, but underneath, it's more or less the same.

Mondeo is EUCD based. The Fusion is still CD3 based. I still don't think that replacing the Fusion with the Mondeo or moving over to the EUCD platform would improve anything, though.

*Point of Reference

I believe the tentative plan is to merge the two platforms in the next generation of cars, which is partially why the Fusion only received an "update," not a total redesign. Although, if you do want a little bit on Mondeo in your Fusion...

...We do get the wheels on the SE-badged models.

RE: Getting the MKII Focus

Could happen, of course, if the rumors about having the RS shipped here are true. It will likely be a bridging model, showing us how good their stuff is, before they send the MKIII models over the Atlantic whilst playing "Ride of the Valkyries."

Ooh... this car looks promising. AWD, 325 hp... why don't they send it to the States. Oh, wait. I forgot. It's also a Buick. Imagine that...

Hehe. Regal GS.....

Don't be so sure, they loved the VX220, Monaro and VXR8.;) (Even if the Holden's Stig laps were always done in the wet when JC's part was done in the dry.......)

Hehe. Regal GS.....

+1 If this makes the USA I hope they don't call it a GNX because it's a mid-size 4 door sedan. Regal GS would be more suiting, or something along those lines.

Or they'd call it the "Regal Super." Although I really don't like that tagline right now, it just doesn't flow well saying "LaCrosse Super," or "Lucerne Super."

They do look nice though. Very nice.

None of which were Vauxhall/Opel in-house designs and builds.

I think the only Vauxhall Vauxhall they've ever said something positive about is the Zafira.

On TV perhaps, but even Clarkson has been positive about the previous Astra (Mk4 maybe?) SRi in more than one column, despite him expecting to find it to be rubbish. And the magazine which has very little input from the TV team (or used to when I used to read it) had favourable things to say about both the Astra and Vectra VXR models.

Someone said something favourable about the VXR Vectra?

Who were they and why are they allowed out in public unaccompanied?

Clarkson had to eat his own hair in an omlet when the New Astra ended up looking exactly like the concept model.

I would take that as 'Clarkson liked it' :sly: I think he secretly likes them all and thats why he slags them off!

Also put me down as another person who likes the Insiginia! 👍

Robin.

I rather like it, and it would be even better if the trim was all painted body color. It would look menacing in black on black with the chrome bits black as well. :D

You mean, like a Buick GNX?:p
