So should we say 42laps and 6 on hard then?

i'd say somewhere near 60, for a "real" endurance

IMO 42 is enough. a F1 race takes 49 laps. and GT500 cars are slower so the race takes at least 1houre 30min. well, maybe not for immortal, but 42 laps is cool.

F1 isn't the benchmark comparison for this championship you know Maxi..

I don't know, an hour and a half is a long time to be racing. I wouldn't mind testing 2 hours out either at Spa or in the pre-season though.

Sorry I didn't check the replay today either, I've literally been playing Skyrim all day ... this game has me engrossed. I'll check the replay as soon as I get home tomorrow, I intend to practice some GP/F tomorrow anyway :)

I would think that the endurance race would be at least 1 1/2 or 2 times the amount of the regular race .

So for example that race in grand valley was 34 laps , an endurance there should be at least 51 laps I'd say.

I don't mind really. I think we should make Spa a two hour long endurance race, just to test it out and see how it is. I wouldn't mind making all of the races generally longer. Say, instead of ~60 minutes, we could do an extra 15 minutes on top of that. Just thinking out loud really.

Something else I think we should do; during the pre-season for season 3 we should do a couple of 'fun' races, just choosing different classes of car for a race or two, and we could do a 'proper' endurance race that lasts like 3-4 hours :sly:

I wouldn't mind every race to be up to 90minutes, but more than that will make the races finish really late with our starting time. (with qualify that's 2 hours)

I don't mind doing different classes of cars just for the fun of it, but again the time issue for me makes 3-4hours long races not something I would be able to finish. I personally think we should try make the Pre-Season about making season 3 better. Make the cars more even, and discuss the tracks to be used. I wouldn't mind having atleast one or two new tracks beside the obvious SPA track.

The pre-season will last until 7th of January and we do have Christmas and new years eve. And between those days can at least for me be boring, I wouldn't mind some fun races in this period.

Since we'll end up with an extended pre-season due to the holidays, we should test out all of the tracks we haven't raced at yet. Regardless of how good or bad you perceive that track to be. Those couple of months will also hopefully allow PD to release another new DLC pack with an amazing new track ;)

I'm also going to test out the stealth Nissan GT-R tonight when I get home.

Oh, we should do a couple of pre-season races with dynamic weather too. It's something I've really wanted to try since before I even started season one.

I actually want to do all the tracks that have dynamic weather to be at dynamic weather. I need to test it out with the new settings that came with 2.0 version of the game so we don't get 100% standing water as it will be just as driving around on ice. But 30-40-50% might be interesting and would bring in a new element.
I tested it some on SPA and it didn't rain, but got foggy, made it something different to drive around. Was fun in my opinion :)

i think adding dynamic weather is really good. people in the pole or top 3 can make fatal mistakes causing them to go down a few spots wich makes it nice for competition & it will be really good to see what pitstops are going to bring in terms of when going in the pitstop etc.. its really nice!,

i think we should also add nurburgring type V just like the VLN series it's a really nice one that i like too.. + ofcourse the 24h endurance :D it'll be amazing this new season!

:grumpy:If only TGTT had pit lane:indiff:

I know you really like Nurburgring, but come on, its a time trail. If we have to even have it on the calender one time is more than enough. Running 1 hour of the one and a half hour alone with no action more than how good lap times I can put in I can go to practice mode and do it myself.

Tested 100% standing water on SPA now with not a perfect set-up and a few minor mistakes (its a bit slippery) I managed 2:50 my best with that set-up on dry is 2:12.6 on soft tyres.

Ok this is my opinion .

I think we should leave the regular races at 1 hour jus based on the risk for disconnections .

The endurance races should be increased a bit , at least 1 1 /2 amount of laps as the regular races.

Also why not make endurance races more rewarding , more points given out in these races . Just an idea for that one .

I think any track that offers dynamic weather and change of time we should definetely utilize those features , makes it closer to real life.

I have run lots of tests on the weather since the latest updates to gt5 and weather changeability at 5 is the best setting to use .

So like it is now then.

I like the idea, but since we do have a system that you can be away for 2 of the 11 races it would be unfair to those who have something else to do the times it's endurance races. Since they will lose more on that than other races

Ye we been living in a perfect world up until now, sun every Saturday :)

Nice to know, what else do you set it to? I put in Weather 50, changeability 3 and water at start to 0. After 10 laps I had 100% standing water.

You should start at weather 0 % that makes it a 50/50 chance that rain will fall if you set changeability to 5

I notice when you raise the changeability over 5 , the rain does fall a lot more but it also stops faster as well .

For example on changeability 5 rain might fall for 5 - 10 laps and then stop

For example on changeability 10 rain might fall for 1-3 laps and then stop and then start falling again after a few dry laps.

Setting it to 5 seems to be the best option .

Once again just my opinion .

Also I think it would be cool if in those weather change races that if it does rain and you use the inter or wet tire you don't have to use the hard / medium tire . Yes I know this is a copy of formula 1 but it is a good rule .

We most likely give you one set of soft next season, then you can choose what ever after that.. medium, hard, inter, wet.. what is best for you :)

Then we can forget about counting laps on hard, we can do how many laps we want on soft, but you only have one stint on them. Then go to medium and keep using medium. If it rain you can go inter or wet. No limits on the other tyres. Just limited use of one stint on soft.

One limited stint on sorts is a great rule, as I keep saying :p

Nurburgring Type V is interesting, but I myself prefer GP/F. I also think we should keep Nurburgring 24hr Endurance simply because it's such a solid driver track. Sure the racing can be boring but it's actually one of my favourite circuits to race on. Over taking someone after spending two laps driving better than them on the ring is such a good feeling.

One stint on soft ?

Boo to that rule

What if we give everyone that race 1 points for racing + the points they get for their position? This way it actually is a bit more to lose not to show up. We can of course keep the rules about 9 out of 11 counts, but the one point for actually racing every track should be appreciated in my opinion and should not be subtracted.

The rules is fine now, but it doesn't give those who show up for every race anything and 1 point shouldn't mess up the leaderboard in a bad way.

EDIT:
One stint on soft ?

Boo to that rule

Soft feels like railways, so would be fun to actually show some driving skills in my opinion.

Driving skills are still showed with softs .

There's a reason they use the soft tire more in f1.

I think you guys should reconsider that rule .

I suggest using a system where you choose 2 tires for each race with the soft always included and then set a number of required laps for the other tire . Maybe you need to increase the number if required laps if you think soft is being used too much . And in races when you choose the medium tires have a higher number of require laps on medium .

For example on a 40 lap race using the medium tire we would require 20 laps on the medium tire .

For example on a 40 lap race using the hard tire we would require 15 laps on the hard tire .

I think this would also result in more pit stops which always makes racing more exciting with different strategies

Once again just an idea.

Once again, comparing F1 to a SuperGT GT5 Championship where the tyre models are far from realistic.

We've driven two seasons using the soft as the primary tyre now, it's really is like driving on rails. When I drove in the WCGTC they only use the racing hard tyre, and it's fine. No where near as bad as you make it out to be, because you set your car up to be used on the hard tyre.

If we used the medium tyre you would have to make the choice of setting the car up for the soft tyre or the medium tyre.

Using your proposed system by forcing people to drive X amount of laps on Y tyre is counter intuitive, especially as you seem to use F1 as your benchmark reference, what if the medium tyre will only last 17 of those 20 laps before literally deflating? Forcing people to use two sets of tyres and allowing them to use them for as much as they want, makes the strategy far more prominent than forced laps.

I think this would also result in more pit stops which always makes racing more exciting with different strategies

You'd be creating more pit stops because you would be forcing them to drive two separate races essentially.

I also think the 'one point for turning up' proposal is a bit ... superfluous.

------

Regardless, we can test it all out in the pre-season :)

Just trying to provide an alternative to a one stint soft tyre rule .

I think just giving you 2 compounds each race saying you have to use both use them anyway you like is how it should be .

.

So Soft and Medium would be 1 lap on medium and the rest on soft. So primary tyre is Soft.. oh and like they do.. again F1

I'm personally is so bored with the soft tyres, I had fun this season on the hard tyres, as they are more fun to drive. I have to use the soft to have a chance to keep up with the rest. But removing the soft completely would make it all more fun for me. But I'm not thinking just about myself, I try to come up with something that could be a bit more challenging and more fun for every one. If you really like the soft tyres that much you should see that they are actually the same as super soft, but they last as real life hard tyres. Meaning you actually didn't mean the thing you said about making it more close to real life when you talked about the dynamic weather. The soft tyres in GT5 doesn't really exist in the real world.

Results and penalties from Grand Vally Speedway

We investigated mainly two accidents

Accident 1 was first corner first lap and involving Maxitsu and zzxxz.
By only looking at the replay it do looks like zzxxz doesn't give room for Maxitsu, but this could easily been avoided if Maxitsu didn't dive into first corner. We all know it lagged at the start and most of us went into the first corner very carefully.
Maxitsu penalized himself by ending up in the gravel.
No Further action is taken.

Accident 2 happened in lap 4 in turn 1 involving ProPersian and skengdigi. ProPersian going for a pass witch is totally fine, but when we do a pass like this it is just as important to give room to the one your passing. This didn't happen here were ProPersian caused an avoidable accident to skengdigi.
Also in lap 31 ProPersian was involved with an accident with arno also involving skengdigi

15 seconds penalty given to ProPersian

Results:
1st IMMORTALPILOT
2nd ProPersian
3rd skengdigi
4th Arkano6
5th ErikAndre71
6th Netherdragon
7th zzxxz
8th anastasis14
9th Maxitsu
10th karolinaste
11th C-Falcon89
12th Arno

Ballast for Nürburgring GP/F
IMMORTALPILOT 115kg - 50% 57,5kg
ProPersian 50kg - 50% = 25kg
Skengdigi 30kg - 50% = 15kg
GP-CiaN 30kg - 50% = 15kg
C-Falcon 20kg - 50% = 10kg
ErikAndre71 15kg - 50% = 7,5kg
zzxxz 0kg
All weight will be rounded down to closest 10kg

And remember NO BALLAST on SPA guys. going to be a blast :)

I decided C-Falcon gets the last place, we all feel sorry for you Falcon, I'm so glad I do not have your internet :ouch:

anyone up for a litle practice on gp ??

I was just on, but had to come off for dinner, and I'm going on Skyrim next :sly:
