Interest Check
I'm not sure if this is the right place for it, but this seemed to me to be the most appropriate and logical. There's no point putting this in the F1 2001/2002 forum in the PC bit, since that area is pretty much non-existant.
Anyway, here's what i'm proposing:
A race series run with the "Prototype C" mod for EA Sports' F1 Challenge '99-'02. I will provide links as to where you can obtain these downloads. The series will be open to any of the 206 (yes, 206!) cars included in the mod (provided you download every single update). The series will run on some of the game's 23 tracks. Here is a list of what is available:
Barcelona
Brands Hatch GP
Daytona (24 Hour course)
Donington GP
Interlagos
Jerez
Kyalami
Magny-Cours
Mid-Ohio
Montreal
Monza
Mugello
Nurburgring GP
Phoenix (Oval with infield section)
Rouen (old French GP course, also in Grand Prix Legends)
Sebring
Silverstone
Spa
Suzuka
Watkins Glen
Le Mans, Laguna Seca and Fuji were also available, but in different years of cars, the layouts changed according to the car set. Sorry, nothing I can do about that
There is 11 years worth of Group C machinery on offer for you to choose from, and I'm allowing you guys to take your pick! That's right, any of the cars in the mod is available to race. I'm thinking of holding a pre-season test as well at Jerez to give you guys the chance to shakedown your cars and work on setups.
If you would like the mod, then please visit http://virtua-lm.com and clikc the Download Area button. There you will find all the links for the downloads. You will need to be a member of Fileplanet to download most of them, but be careful on Service Pack 4. Clicking the Fileplanet links will just take you to a download area for the All-in-One pack, which has everything in it. Don't get that, because the unpacking seems to take forever. Instead, when you click the download option for SP4, click the option directly under the Fileplanet links. This will take to a proper download. Also, you will need at least 700MB of memory free on your computer, since the whole thing is about 668MB!
If anyone has any comments, questions, queries or suggestions, please feel free to either PM me or post here. Thanks!
