:grumpy:👍

Okay so far i have the following people expressing an interest :

Simracedriver
Goixeye
Kolyana
jumpputt
Somebody
Davidroy90
Misterweary
Zoxxy
Speedy Samurai
Small Fryz
Puck927
Bigrew
VillainPL
jase86
Lewie
Soyfu
Lotus 350
EJR1
Onlyme
ls2 297

Thats about 20 of us so far which is great news, anyone else i missed just shout!

The loose (at this stage) structure is listed below and is open to change so use as a guide first and if your still up for the challenge let me know by PM your intention to race (hey you only need an hour if thats all you have per week!!)

Held weekly commencing mondays ending sunday evening

Every sat the following weeks car choices posted and you have two days to let me know by PM which motor you want to vote for. (For the element of surprise you can leave motor choice to me but i wanted to give all the chance to race some maybe more unusual machinery against each other!)

Monday winning car is posted along with tuning options available for that specific week.

Times can be submitted to me by PM all week

Results will be posted on mondays for previous week - If asked some proof of lap maybe required by use of a replay device - but its not a rule of entry - its fun and i wouldnt expect any cheating..!

Depending on turnout points awarded - this could be to top ten drivers perhaps...

Start date approx 17th October or therabouts

So have a think and let me know if your interested!

Thanks all for your time and support

David

My idea about voting -> we do not choose 1 car but 3 of them - #1 one -> 3pts, #2 -> 2 pts, #3->1pt - that way more cars will get some points and IMO there will be less chance to 2 cars get the same amount of votes -> but its just some casual idea (if that is proper word in english ..)

Count me in! I love the nurburgring, although I don't run there that much 👍

Im with you now....thanks for the suggestion, yes choosing 3 in order of your 1 st choice to third choice might work! 💡

Welcome Lotus350 👍

Cars would be chosen by you guys using a voting system (Im working on the car list now) and i would then set the tuning options available to everyone that week.

So no not completely stock, however the reason for that is like i already said to encourage a learning curve of setup options and discussion on here would help with that!

David

In that case, I won't be participating.

Well, I don't have a replay deviece, but it sounds like alot of fun. Count me in! 👍

Ebiggs
In that case, I won't be participating.

Ebiggs as far as i consider (if it is good word ;) ) cars want be stock but they still will have power limit - 150, 200, 250HP etc - so we want drive power monsters every time...

I'm on a pretty tight rehearsal schedule as the musical I'm participating in is coming closer. And after a couple of hours for the WRS, there's not much left... but errrr... I just can't say no to the ring :)

So, errr, yeah, count me in :)

Thats a shame mate. Can understand your displeasure at the fact the cars are not stock, however my whole idea was based around starting off virtually stock and working up to race machines whilst along the way learning set up and correct lines around the circuit. Its your choice but heres hoping you change your mind :)

There are about 20 of us now - thanks those who have PM'd me, you should have replies now - and welcome to EJR1 and OnlyMe 👍

I will be posting a low power sample/taster of the idea on sat 1st October to break up the time between now and start up, but it gives me time to work on the car choices as i want to give you all an interesting line up to choose from- and theres a lot to go through.

To recap could all interested just confirm now that the final details have been posted above, you can do this here or by PM i dont mind which, and keep your eyes on this section around the 1st for the sample/taster challenge - you will have 2 days to let me know your car choice from the list i post and any furthur instructions will be there also.

Great to see a fair group interested, lets hope you all turn up when it starts and let the fun commence!!

Got the first of October marked on my calender :p

UPDATE

I have been doing a lot of car testing, the choices for the sample race and week one are about finalised!

For those who are genuinely interested i would reccomend that a small amount of time is put into researching the "Ring" a bit, there are some good websites around such as :

www.nurburgring.org.uk
www.nurburgring-videos.com

Is some great advice on correct lines and corner names etc, there was a post on here somewhere with a PDF attachment of the correct racing line around the ring, but i cant find the thread anymore...so if anyone can point in the right direction??

The cars for the sample race have shown me already that small power does not = small fun! If nothing else this series is going to graphically demostrate the speed difference between the cars - i got into the M3CSL after 5 hours testing small cars and was shocked at how fast it seemed!

Dave

@Dave_George: After noticing the start date to be the 17th Oct, I will most definately be interested. 👍

Great, how about yourself Small Fryz? There are a few who have expressed interest but not confirmed yet, as follows:

Goixeye
Kolyana
jumpputt
Somebody
MisterWeary
M31
Vexd

The issue here seemed to be other race series overlapping, with a start date of 17.10.05 can any of you participate?

thanks all

Dave

BTW im now doing Skyline GTR R34VspecII on Nurb combo - best time of first 10 laps - stock, oil change, S2 tyres - so far the best was 7.52.041 - 4 more laps left ;) (I can see there at least 2 sec to shave but i dont knwo if i will be able to do it :/) - its good warm up before that series IMO ;)

Only if you promise to leave the Minolta locked up in the garage!

No worries mate got you on the list 👍

I was going to tell everyone that veil has a video of him in the Minolta going around the Ring, but by some of the responses it looks like everyone already knows. If you haven't seen it and you need to see the correct line (at blazingly fast speeds) then I would recommend it!!! LOL

Yeah we have seen both of them ;)
But its from inside of the car :(
veil did you talk to jumpace about making external camera video of your brillant lap ?
PS. Sorry for OT

This should really be in the spot race section mate..... 👍

I couldnt resist tho...

lap 1 - 7.54.xxx

lap 2 - 7.48.462

No time for more as got decorating to do :indiff:

To anyone who has the time get your self over to www.racingflix.com and register, do a search for nurburgring and you will find some excellent vids...look for the one about "shins" black skyline (there are 3 of this you want the longest one about 135mb file) and leave to download over night (speed is slow unless you pay them :grumpy: )

The guy driving (Dirk) is doing his 10,000 lap of the Ring and the car is a 700+BHP R34......

Anything you want to know about line is visible here, he isnt going for a lap time but its still incredible (touches 180MPH on the section between Flugplatz and Schwedenkreuz on ROAD tyres  )

this is the address of a good map BTW :

http://www.trilon.com/bapom/maps/map-nring84.pdf

later..

If Veil races, we need to give him a 2000lb weight penalty.

And break both of his legs.

And arms.

And maybe poke him in the eyes with a pointy stick.

Dipped in lemon.

Harsh...but probably fair for the rest of us!

After many a lap with the WRS 24 car at Tsukuba, I decided to give it a go at the green hell, and managed a sub 06'30. Car really suits this track with it's great handling, perhaps sombody else could give it a go. 👍
