Internal Dvd Burner connected via External USB HD enclosure?

Is it possible to Internal Dvd Burner connected via External USB HD enclosure and have it work? If I remember correctly the pins and power are the same as an HD so why not? Thanks

the thing is a DVD burner is bulkier and heavier than a HDD. so i very much doubt it. just mount it internally replacing whichever drive is obselete to it.

Not using an HD enclosure, but you can use an enclosure. The 5.25in cases cost about the same as most HDD cases so you shouldn't have much problem finding one 👍

actually yeah I think I saw one a long time ago but at that time they were as much as just buying an external now.

this whole HD caddy thing sounds very very odd. i'd hate to knock it from my desk!!!

yea, $50CND for the burner, $30 for the enclosure... better than ~$110-120 on an external...
