Hi,
I have a USB stick with Optus (Australia) for my internet connection for the moment and I was just wondering if I bought a 3G Router for it, would it work for my PS3 to download say, maybe some updates for GT5?

Cheers.

If it's a USB stick that doesn't make a wireless network for all the devices in your home then it isn't really possible. I don't know of a any routers that you can plug in a 3G modem and it'll give you wifi.

If you get a 3G Wifi Router you can hook your PS3 to it but i don't recommend using WWAN for gaming due to ping and packet loss issues that they have.

Their are 3G Routers from D-Link and Netcomm.

D-Link

Netcomm

This netcomm router is small(pocket sized)

Why does it have to be wifi? And would this product do the trick?

I'm new to all this stuff..

Can anyone help me out here? If I can't update my GT5, I'm afraid I'm gonna have to dispose of it and my G27 Cockpit, don't get me wrong I love GT5 but without the updates for it and Dirt 3 I'm afraid there isn't much left for me to do.

I think you can bridge a connection from your laptop to the PS3 via an ethernet cable. Look for tutorials, I'm not too sure how to do it myself.

Ah yeah I've heard about this theory, thanks man. I'll guess I just have to research it.

That has ethernet and wifi.

The 3G18WV is a 4 port router with wifi and it also has VoIP(if you ever want to use it).

The DIR-451 is 4 port router with wifi.

With wifi it means you can connect your PS3 to it with via Wifi or connect any laptop in the house to it.

Thanks so much man!
