Is it just me or does the actual gameplay footage in the intro look more vivid, smoother and sharper than the replays are?

hitman146
yep because the intros are digitally modified
They're rendered (animated) flics - NOT comparable to replays...

It is my opinion, and take on the intro, that only a few scenes are "pre rendered" CG sequences, I think the others are actually real time footage of a beefed up GT4 engine.

It is like a DVD movie.

Just like the movie Final Fantasy. Each frame took 3 hours to be rendered. At the end, they put each frame in sequence and start the compression.

They compress it to Mpeg-1 or 2 and drop this data into the disc.

Is is not rendered by PS2, just read as movie data.

Probably similar to the Photomode engine I suppose.

Just to clarify in case you were addressing me, I'm not saying that the PS2 rendered the cars, however I do believe they were rendered using a Beefed up GT4 engine.
