HAHAHA!

That Zen thing sucks even worse. The iPods own it.

Like I said, my only gripe as far as iPods are concerned is the pricetag, and the relative pricetag for the nano.

iRiver 5GB H10, how many times people  ?

It might just be my cynicism but iPod allways seem to be several steps behindd iRiver, iPods are also infereior mp3 players to their iRiver counterparts...

I leave you with some of iRivers best products.

iRiver have a huge range most of which have colour screens and cost less than iPods. 💡

Why buy an iPod, folks?

My fone makes mp3 player redundant because it is an mp3 player. I can store 160 songs on it and it got video camera and all my memories of my friends. Carrying a mobile phone and a separate mp3 player is not only annoyingly pocket weighing but its also so 2002.

GRRR, flame-returns with your fancy iRivers. :P well yeah i have an iPod mini as well, but a 1 gig player for 90$? no way, my 512 mB was 100$, and it was the cheapest one of that storage. i like my iPod mini but i'd almost prefer a zen micro to it. and i think the full size iPods are a tad big though. i thought my 4 gig for 180$ was a fairly decent price as well.

Wow new iPod, what ACCESSORIES can i buy for it?!?!?!

I was looking for some new earphones a couple of weeks back and began to get qiute amused when time after time i read ''Now available in White for use with iPod'' or ''White, compatible with iPod'' to me this proves what the majority (NOT all) of the iPod demographic is like.

I agree this is a better alternative than the iPod mini as I can judge from the info I know, but it isn't a competitor of the iPod Nano.

The nano is a flash player and smaller in size.

The nano is really an iPod for someone who doesn't want a HD-Based player.

...or it shows the image that some marketing teams of other companies have of the iPod consumers.

...but yeah, the entire image of iPods is gayer than elton john wearing a pink bikini while sitting in a bathtub filled with strawberry yoghurt. All I know is that I didn't buy it for the image, back then it was the best alternative. I don't know about the situation now, but anyone saying that image is the only thing apple has gets no credit from me.

.

you do realise that youre not going to get 250 songs on it anyway. if you were to use variable bitrate, you could probably get about 50 songs on it, but they would be high quality. if you used 64kb/s, you would get around 200 songs, but would they sound perfect? no. i hate people that put quantity over quality.

gripe#2: i hate people that spend loads on a ipod shuffle, because it is an iPod. jesus, for the same price you could get 2 offbrand 1GB players, which do the exact same job, just come with ****e headphones and taiwanese instructions and the like. to me, iPods went from revolutionary to fashion statements. if you dont have an iPod nowadays youre uncool.

and argos were selling a 'white gold connector headphone splitter for Ipod' for around £5 or £8. for that, i could go to Maplin and get one exactly the same, in whichever colour they had in stock, and buy them for £1 each. :dunce:

*end pointless rany*

I don't know if that was agreeing with me or not, but based on the text, you are in agreement. :)

Anyway, I meant the iPod "owns" it technologically. I'm not sure about ownage based on the relative price, though. haha.

Ew. Its an iPod

I think the shuffle is the best Apple mp3 player yet. You can actually change songs while its in your pocket! :dopey: But then theres a whole line of iRivers, and Cowons to kill the crapple.

Although this one does kill every mp3 player on the market PERIOD

^^ Haha that thing is hidious man, what year was it produced? 1985?

I'm not even seriously going to respond to this.

Its the Rio Karma, and it spanks the hell out of any iPod. :) Its by far the best sounding mp3 player I know of. :dopey:

On the more serious note, I smell another crappy Apple product. :dopey: I suggest everyone look at offerings by Creative, iRiver, Cowon, etc... They know how to make quality mp3 players.

Yes it has only in 1gb though( iRiver will probably upgrade it in the future)

iRivers are great. I bought an ipod mini because at the time the 5gb iRiver was £40 more than my 4gb mini.

Anyway, i'm not that keen on the new nano. I think it looks a bit out of proportion. Anyway, those of you who say iPods are just a fashion statement, sure, maybe they are. Not everyone buys them for that though - they buy them because (most of them) look the buisness, and are a perfectly capable mp3 player. In my opinion, there are other reasons to buy an ipod than being in a "Fad". Except for the shuffle. I really can't see why people would buy an mp3 player without a screen for twice the price of an ordinary one.

And I don't need a headphone splitter, my iRiver H340 has TWO headphone jacks! Beat that iPod! :sly:

I don't know why you'd need two ( unless your in high school  ) but mine has a Line-in and a built-in mic (which works quite well actually). :D

The iRiver H300 series has line in and line out :p

Oh yes, that was realy pointless. I remember reserving one of those in my local store, and then walking next door into comet and buying to for the half the price. :dunce:

I am in "high school" (remember I'm a brit)

I need two jacks so I can convert iPod owners! They gather around my iRIver watching me watch the Simpsons, it seems charitable to allow one lucky iPod owner to watch with me. I have already persuaded 3 iPod owners to get H300s and one to get a PMC :) :) :) !

Everyone iPod owner I know admits my H340 pwns their iPod :dopey:

I know... I was partly kidding and not really aiming it at you, but a splitter seems to be the only a need (I can think of) for people in HS.

I bought my 2 instead of buying a £40 usb audio thingus. The cheapo speakers i bought needed a 5.1 soundcar, which laptops don't generally have. So...... i got two splitters and plugged them into eachother, and then into the headphone socket of my laptop. Then i plugged the 3 3.5mm leads into the splitter. Works wonders, and saved me a fair ammount of cash.

you're so ignorant. The Karma can play FLAC files and is a great player, but i hear it has durability problems.

That's odd, a friend of mine told me he watched a video where an iPod Nano was being reviewed, and at the end they break it to pieces on purpose. But he said it was kind of difficult to break the Nano.

I guess they were wrong because its the opinion of the customers that matters.... oh well just another Apple Overpriced ****up thats hyped up to the heavens and then breaks once you get one. 👎 👎

Be smart, go Creative :sly:

No, go iRiver :sly:

Maybe Apple supplied extra durable versions of the Nano to magazines?
