Just contributing to the discussion. Don't take it so personally šŸ˜‰
Ok. Let's discuss. Can you elaborate on why you think it looks "completely pants?"
Is it the art style, the way the cars handle, something else?

Let's. So, the art style is not my cup of tea. Looks pants. Since cars have always been a passion of mine, I prefer a developer to be true and faithful as to how the cars look, behave and sound (to a reasonable extent) I even refuse to bother with the Need for Speed franchise since EA, Ghost and Criterion have been extra lazy as not to include in-car view (in this day and age)
So, Hot Wheels style or 2Ks game don't interest me.
If you're going to have fully licensed cars and tracks, at least make them look the part. FFS šŸ˜€

Ah I see. So it would’ve been better if they looked like they do in GT, Forza, Rennsport, PMR, AC Evo, AMS2, iRacing, Raceroom, etc. Like they do in pretty much every other racer. Gotcha.

Boom! Spot on 😁 See, didn't even need to discuss anything. As long as they don't look like squashed, elasticated bits of plasticine, I'm happy šŸ˜„

I think his point was you have 10+ other options for what you want. Games are allowed to be different.

That's absolutely fine. I know what message he was trying to convey. I just put forward my own viewpoint because he asked me to elaborate on it and discuss it. I reiterate; this is purely my opinion and no one else's. If others love the style of the game, all power to them.

Well I think the whole point of this game is to appeal to people who like racing but do not want a full sim type to learn. If the graphics are good and the racing is fun, then it should appeal to a lot of people that aren't hardcore sim racers. I'll play the demo and check it out. Playing the Hot Wheels game with friends is fun. Some of the most fun I had was with Table Top Racing. Good fun and laughs. Im a hardcore Gran Turismo fan but can have fun with simplified games too.

Really love how gaming opinions on the internet have mostly devolved into this is bad because it doesn't specifically cater to my personal preferences.

I play old/niche hardcore sims in VR, I play Burnout and Ridge Racer, and everything in-between. A racing game just has to feel compelling. This is essentially Circuit Superstars, a game I really enjoy, but with a traditional camera and licensed content. This is much more appealing to me than Yet Another GT3 Simulator 202X...

Begs the question: why bother commenting in this thread about a game style that doesn't interest you and a game that isn't trying to be what you want i5 to be? It's bizarre. Did you go in the duck hunt forum and say it looks pants, I prefer cod and nukes?

I really like the demo - but I'm not going to buy it.

It's just not a game I see myself playing at my computer. Utter madness that this is not also being released on mobile - I'd be 100% in if it was.

It would need an entirely different (and absolutely horrid) business model to be successful on mobile. As far as I know this isn’t F2P/gacha.

They are probably thinking it’ll do well with people who have a Deck or PC handheld. Surprised there's no Switch 2 version - I know MK crushes everything but there might still be a market there.

The whole point of a game is to have fun. If you're not having fun then put it down and move on. Simple or complex a game just needs to be entertaining at the least.

Ok, so I downloaded the demo from Steam and had a quick go at it. Graphically looks like a baby GT and has a fun vibe. My main feedback is that right now the steering is too sensitive, I hope there is some way to adjust that in the future.

If they get it to drive like Grid Legends, that would be perfect for me.

Is there anywhere in the guidelines that states you can only contribute to the discussion or comment only if you approve of the game in question? And it begs the question why you're taking my comment about the game so personally? People have differing viewpoints, it's a fact of life. Get over it.

No one's implying it's against the rules, no one's taking it personally, no one's upset that you have a different opinion. But declaring that you won't buy a game because you think it sucks is not contributing to any discussion. It's just low-effort negativity, and there's a certain degree of irony in you telling other people to get over it when they call you out on it. What did you expect?
