Hello everybody,

I am new to mods in Need for Speed and I just wanted to play Shift 2 in Windows 11, but with some changes. I found interesting mods, like for the camera, but want to change little things.

I unpacked all Shift 2 and tried to start it by -loose, but it did not work.
So my question is only at the beginning:
  • can I play an unpacked Shift 2 at all in EA App?
  • is the -loose parameter still the same today, or which parameter can I use and how? (exe property, EA App starting parameter?)

I ask this as the unpacked version is easier to maintain, and I had no success in using QuickBMS for reimport.

Thank you!

I found out now that there is a BFF Repacker, and this works that I can change a file and repack the BFF.

So my question is actually answered, as I can repack then and don't have to use an unpacked version.

I got it to work by downloading the newest physx update via the nvidia website and inserting it into the same location as the physx update that came with the game. Actually very easy fix. Just thought people should know. It’s a very worthwhile game to play, good graphics, good controls and I usually run my games at 40fps just for less tdp usage.
