Soooo, is anyone going to register for the fixed iRacing National Series? Nothing like some good old rubbing n racing.

I've only had one account, the other account wasn't ever mine. I never would have even made my own account had my friend not moved. We had a good thing going with splitting all the fees, made it cheaper for both of us, we just couldn't race at the same time.

So no, I've only ever had one account.

As far as the iRating stuff goes, it's common sense to understand that if you focus on a single series and a single car, that your iRating will be higher than if you have to spread your practice time over 5 or 6 different cars. Focusing on one subject in any field allows you to become an expert.

I've been iRacing for about 3 months and I think I'm ready to start analyzing my laps more in depth and trying to find those extra tenths. I see many people talking about optimal laps and analyzing where they are losing time. Do I use ispeed if I want to do this or do I doe this through the iracing website. I remember reading about it before, but now that in ready to actually start I can't remember the details. Any help on where to start with lap analyzing would be greatly appreciated

Make sure you've got the pit speed limiter mapped.

how exactly does that work, I had it mapped but I can't seem to make it hold speed when I pressed the button, do I need to hold the button while driving?

Yes, iSpeed lap analyzer is used to compare your lap against a faster lap. Check it out Here and also read Troy Schulz's "One Second at a Time" Here

Considering it, just depending on time. I'd like to run as many different series as I can, but it also depends on what time the races run since I'm in a way different timezone.

Is this also where I go to get my "optimal" lap as well or do I get that somewhere else?

When most people refer to "optimal" lap they are referring to the one that is built into the sim. So if you enable the splits timer in iRacing (can't remember what the default keystroke is) it will show you the red/green bar to let you know how you are doing, but it will also show you your best lap, optimal lap (which is adding up all your best sectors), optimal sector, etc.

What kind of display device do you use for the iSpeed iRacing HUD app? Is it USB powered?

I use a 7" Liliput monitor and yes it is USB.

I have to say, with the new baseline setup, the Cadillac is a really good and really fun car, at least at Mosport. I spent a few hours running practices with the old baseline and they've really tuned out much of the twitchiness. It's still twitchy, just not near as bad as before, it's also got a fair bit of understeer dialed in, but making it oversteer a bit at corner entry handles that problem partially.

Started from the pits and finished 6th. Would have been fifth, but I downshifted into 2nd accidentally and spun myself and tapped a wall lightly.

Oh and something that's VERY cool is that the fixed setup only gives you enough fuel for about 18 laps of a 20 lap race so you are forced to pit unless you are good with fuel saving techniques. I'm very happy they made that decision as it brings a little more strategy into it.

Hey guys, I am getting ready to purchase the "Buy 1 get 2 months free" iRacing subscription for starters. It is asking me if I have a referral email.

I am not sure if you receive anything for referring people but if you do post or pm your email and I will put you in as my referral.

EDIT: You get a $10 credit in "iRacing dollars."

Whoever gets me their info first gets it lol. And hurry, I am ready to get on the track.
Thanks for the referral, can't beat free money! Welcome to iRacing.

Well, quick question for you guys...

Is there a way to change your name on iRacing?

I used my wife's Paypal account to pay for the subscription and unfortunately it has her name as the account name lol.

Just talk to the support people and explain the situation, they'll sort it out for you!

I rarely post anything on this thread but I read it often. Is it just me or is everyone just bitching about other people. Or using the perfectly good advice as an insult. It's pretty boring. Iv never raced at a high level only karting but at the track there was no bitching! U just get on with it! I won't b reading anymore.

I've been following this thread for a few months and posting occasionally. It normally isn't like this. It seems to have gotten off the rails a bit lately. I'd recommend sticking around a little while. It's bound to get better

Guys, I'm gonna buy 2 tracks for iRacing soon. One of them will be Watkins Glen for the GTP CTS-VR cup; and the other one I'm still deciding between Oulton Park, Suzuka, Road Atlanta, Mosport, Mid-Ohio and Zandvoort. Which of these ones you think is the best?

I'd say go with MidOhio, is not the best but the most widely used trough all the different series.
