nice lap times! Are you running the Mazda Cup or Roadster?

Yeah, there are some good vids in the iRacing forum with replays that are worth watching.

3. FWIW, the mazda cup series is a fixed setup. You cannot change/adjust any of the car settings for this series.

I can do it in both. I started in the cup until I realised roadster has the steering on the same side as I naturally drive so I changed.

The sim is so realistic. I know how to go faster but I won't as I an scared if crashing. In any other game there would be no fear as I would just bounce off the walls. I think it's enough for my first race. Just want it clean and top half finish. I will start from the pits :)

Skipped the last pages so sorry if this was posted already, just saw it on Facebook:

Build news from Tony Gardner, iRacing.com President: New Tire Model on Star Mazda, Radical, DP & Williams. 18 total cars will have NTM. All 18 now will produce tire smoke! Drafting aero enhanced which will give much improved super speedway pack racing! Many cars now will feature a model of brake temperature. You will see brake rotor glow. Many more items as well, build notes will be posted as soon as they are completed.

Nooooo!!!!! Why oh why!!! Not my Radical, F1 and DP!!!!
I love those cars just the way they are! I just hope the Vette gets tweaked and better to drive...

I've been asking for the Riley to get it cause on some tracks when I'd hit a kerb at high speed it would be like dynamite (in particular it was Barber). Plus it just felt like the longer the race would progress the more unpredictable the Riley would get and cause my SR to go down. But all of this could be all due to lack of talent and focus. But it really felt bizzare. I'd be even going slower than my PB and not even trying to be competitive really, and still incur -SR.

Cant' wait to try all these cars with the NTM. Didn't know the Radical was getting it but I knew bout the others. I've massively enjoyed the NTM on the HPD

I don't know about B and A class, but Star Mazda regularly splits and participation should be up this season on the new tyre model. Also, if you race V8s in the Sunday or Monday AU timeslots you're pretty much guaranteed several splits.

Yeah star Mazda is seriously popular and so is Indy Car Fixed. Some Class C+ series get splits. but for the most part everyone gets tossed in together in the upper ranks

iRating is still important if you want to go Pro I'd imagine. Not exactly sure how that happens tho. Maybe when iR is above 5000?

Updates downloaded, now waiting for maintenance to be done! Hopefully they've aplied all they've learned from the MX5/Skippy/HPD/FordGT/C6.R into this updates and the transition is easier.

I'm happy for glowing brakes and it having an effect on tire pressure, but was really hoping to read that they were implementing brake fade as well.

No doubt this will be implemented further down the line.

The thing I live with iRacing is the quarterly build updates. And pretty hefty ones at that!

The improvements to the spotter are great. I just hope he doesn't become an annoying part of the game. I'm all for status updates on the leader and the people around me, but I don't want this dude talking to me constantly.

Not sure how long you've been on iRacing so I'll start with the most obvious question first. You aren't looking at the wrong license are you? Guys have asked before and the menu had just switched to their oval license when they were used to seeing road SR or vice versa.

Its all optional so you can tweak it.

Anyone know how the pit speed limiter works? Do you simply press the button once or hold it? I've tried both and its not working for me during test laps. I just press it just before entering pits and I can press down on accelerator?

Haha so I was just trying out the Radical on Watkins Glen... Got into the grass a bit on the real high speed section. Ending up flipping the car and landing upside down. Thankfully the spotter was there to announce "You've got wheel damage." Followed by, "The engine is smoking." Good eye.

Limiter only works in certain cars. Took me a while to register this! Not sure what cars have the limiter.

I'd have to imagine only the sophisticated cars have actual pit
Limiters. Hpd, f1, star Mazda, dp,ford gt,Vette GT1.

Looks like the iRacing website is unusable. I was registered for the 6:30 Street Stock race but wasn't able to get the page to load when it was time to join. I think they need to separate their server duties for release days.

Edit: According to the staff post on the forum there's been some hardware failure.

I logged on and started downloading hte update and then the server crashed. fortunately, the DL is proceeding, but I can no longer login to the service.
(sign now posted saying server down for maintenance)

That is actually a great idea Jake! You should try it Blaze!

It really does work well, I was surprised by it. I have been very accustomed to the linear pedal feel with GT5 and relied on it for a long time. Now that I have been iRacing it became essential to have some sort of pressure feedback to prevent lockup. It's really easy to experiment with as my pedals are out in the open for quick changes.

Incidently it has become painfully obvious to me that it's hard switch back and forth between iRacing and GT5 physics. I guess I am going to have to just pick one and focus... iRacing anyone? 👍

cool
for whatever reason the roadster is more jumpy for me. I use the cup these days.

The Cup is faster everywhere except Lime Rock Park, where the Roadster's gears are advantageous.
