Yeah speaking of SR, its near impossible to raise it on the oval side when you're running laps around USA international. Every race is like a demolition derby, people are spinning around everywhere and its so hard to avoid them especially when they turn into you.

Brakes...... I know it's hard but they have saved me big time before in a lot of cars, it's all about timing you're way through before they come back up and bite you and if you can't make it either alter your path or just drill the brakes, even if you're on the straight, but if you're in the middle of the pack you have to be careful you don't get rear ended. It's a little bit skill and a little bit luck

Raced two races there & was lucky to finish 2and on lead lap! Race two got wrecked! End of story!

SR is calculated differently then one can expect. On the ovals, tracks like Charlotte can help you gain more SR then a place like South Boston can. I forget the whole part of the post but it was something like it calculates turns per incident (I think it counts for road tracks also). One problem is short tracks are a lot smaller so turn 1 and 2 count as 1 whole turn, same goes for turns 3 and 4. On a track like Charlotte each Turn counts as a whole turn (Turn 1,2,3,4). The only thing I know about road is either incidents are worth more or the cut down the number of turns to balance it out. That's all I know.

Hey guys, I juust opened a new thread on the suggestions forum, please drop by and cast your vote whenever you get a chance!

Thank you!

interesting.... I said yes but 7 cars lol, that list would be interesting if you cut it off the MX5 and solstice, let alone the last two lol

I had no idea that sub-forum existed, there was a thread on Evergreen Speedway in Monroe. Being 1 of 3 of my home tracks I had to say yes, but I must say that it is one of the bumpiest tracks in Washington and would make an interesting addition since it has 4 configurations (including figure 8  )

Edit: I keep getting that oscillation on the switchbacks at road Atlanta:crazy:

Planning on running a full season in the Lotus 79 for Season 3. They delayed the McLaren to get the NTM on more cars, so they better damn well get the NTM on the Lotus 79 or I'm gonna be pissed (which really doesn't mean much, LOL). I was really looking forward to the McLaren for S3, but oh well.

So i guess my protest never did anything, the driver i protested has still been racing a lot over the past 3-4 days and has managed to put up a stellar 0.85 SR lol. I heard protests often do nothing, i guess its true. Unless its a process that takes a while. I sent him the link to the videos i made on youtube and he got upset and claimed it was his friend driving and not him.

You can get suspended for sharing your account, it's on your contract with iRacing you're not allowed to let other people race using your account for obvious reasons.

I let friends hotlap but would never allow them to practice online with others. A neighbor of mine is about 80% sure he will sign up for iRacing this fall. ... if his wife lets him. :D

holy cow I was in a practice session with some of the 'big dogs' of the mustang, Trace McRae shared his setup and I was still 4 seconds slower which put me 9th! tough group, definitely, I put down a 1:38.4xx and Trace put down a 1:34.777!

I would think that kind of computer would run iRacing on full graphics without a problem. I'm not familiar with the processer but the graphics card is more than enough. Depending on the Video Ram.

I am new, so I apologize if I ask something that seems stupid :sly:

I've read that iRacing servers are located in the USA, so are there any problems if he plays this simulation from Teheran? (For example pings issues or lag)
I'am asking that because I come form Italy and I want to sign up too.

However that pc is fine for iRacing, even if you want to play it at high-res and high details

Currently there are servers located in Massachusetts USA, Australia, and the Netherlands.

i'm persian myself and i am currently in tehran for work.. in my opinion i think you' d have lag and stuff.. since i have got the highest internet connection possible here with the government has put limits to it.. ( 1 meg ) it' ll be pretty hard to race.. ( i think ) i haven't played any games online in tehran because i don't have time here.. but from italy it shouldn't be a problem.. although on psn i have seen some people from tehran playing gt5 without problems.. they only got disconnected a couple of times..

iibc, iRacing gives you a 0.5 boost once you go a whole number (e.g. once you hit SR2.0 you immediately receive an additional 0.5 bonus to bump you to SR2.5)

but yeah i feel your pain on racers not being penalized for deliberate crashes. I have submitted replays of several pilots deliberatley ramming me and/or other pilots and see the protested pilot racing the next day.
I try to be an optimist and hope that Nim gives the protested pilot a stern warning and the pilot takes it too heart and stops his childish behavior.

Another noob question: Regarding the Street Stock, why it feels like I am stuck in 4th gear when racing on Charlotte, and people drive way faster than me, is it the setup? do I have to setup the car on each track ?

EDIT: That only happened while watching a race and test driving, when I tested it alone I reached 144 miles, how is that?

You guys will be fine! I race people from Italy and other places in Europe all the time with no issues wjatsoever! iRacing's netcode is pretty damn solid and very rarely does connection becomes a real issue!

Well your stuck in 4th gear because the street stock only has 4 gears . The street stock is rookie class so it's a fixed setup so no worrying about dealing with making a setup. You can however change your steering ratio if you would like but that's the only thing you can do in fixed setup races.

If you were test driving a race and getting pulled away from easliy that's most likely due to you not being able to use any draft during test drive and the people racing were drafting. Running charlotte in the street stock is like a super speedway for that car so the draft is going to be very important. Why you went faster alone than in the test drive is beyond me not sure about that one.

144mph sounds right for being out of the draft. In the draft, at night, 152-154 is possible. Little bit slower during the day.

Thanks guys, but what I meant by stuck in 4th, is that I never got past the 97 mile I think, it was strange, it felt the car was struggling, but then that all went away when I tested it, I don't know..

Just protested someone for abusing me in the chat, intentionally wrecking me after I accidentally hit him. Reading up on the Sporting Code, he could be revoked permanently of his membership.
