Nice! I just bought the Mustang also! I think I'll wait for the next season to start, then I know what circuits I have to buy. Can't find the schedule for next season though, is it out yet?

I'm not sure. I just got both Daytonas, so I did a few laps on those; the car is a blast! Feels really good. It should be a blast to race!

You bought the old Daytona? There's really no point unless there's some hosted race that plans to use it.

Eric.

It was 5 bucks, and I needed a 3rd item... And my OCD was kicking in telling me I needed both Daytonas.... So I got it.

It was kinda cool comparing the two...

God what a horrible race, 3rd split was full of HPD morons!!! 45% of the HPD field retired from the race!
Even before the race I got taken out by a moron trying to win the warmup!
Got taken out in lap 2 by a moron in a Vette trying to pass me on the chicane from almost a second behind, spun me arround and lost me 16 seconds and put me dead last!
So I made it back to within 8 seconds of the Vettes only to have the HPD moron train come by! These loonies where racing like it was a GT5 5 lap race!
Trying moves on the worst parts of the track, it was total chaos, everyone cursing and calling them out on the mic! Got taken out by the morons on the mid pack who dive bombed me going into T3!
So with 35 minutes to go I had managed to get back up to 5th place only to be wrecked by an HPD loonie who spun the Vette in font of me, 11 minutes on the pits and I came out in 7th on the same lap of 6th. Somwhere 6th place lost it and I got back to 6th and managed to hold on till the end.
At the end I lost a ridiculous 1.13 SR and gained a misserable .15 iR. So frustrating to be practicing all week to be ready for such a great event only to have it ruined by a bunch of morons who only cared about hot lapping and fast times.

Wow. Just, wow.

That 1.13 SR is insane! That's going to take a long *** time to regain, and more importantly, seems like you didn't have much fun :(

Yeah, it is pretty crazy... Not worried about it though SR comes and goes, what's frustrating is having put so much effort in practice/quali/strategy only to have it all thrown away by a bunch of careless, short sighted, talentless, mentally challenged morons who just won't look 10 feet past their nose! Show's that beign fast is just a small almost insignificant part of racing...

This really is the worst, especially since you're a sitting duck when not in the fastest class.

If you can dodge wrecks- pretty much a gimmie top 5 (in rookie) I'm sure that goes to about a top 10ish in higher licenses.

Also, anyone that has experienced a week 13 before:

Is it really fun? It sounds like a total blast, but I'm confused about the MPR bit. Will all races count towards the MPR?

Petit was an experience for sure. I ran the Vette, qualified 7th out of 12 and my goal was just to complete the event no matter what. I'm doing well and manage to get up to 4th in class after about 20 minutes of racing. 45 minutes in I'm running 2nd in class and on lap 40 I go into the pits for fuel and tires, I come out 4th in class only to get nailed for speeding on pit road (I did 46 MPH.. but it counts) and drop down to 6th in class after serving my penalty. I work my way back up to 5th in class, a lap down to the rest of the Vettes and now my only goal is to finish. With just under an hour to go, under braking for turn 2, my car jolts to the left and I hit a wall, it was weird because I took the corner like I normally would.. Anyways I drove around to the pits and had 15 minutes of repairs. I ended up 10th in class... I would have been top 3, maybe even first if I wasn't for the penalty and my weird accident. I achieved my goal of finishing, but it sucks when I know I could have did much better. I'll be running the Vette next season full time in GT Challenge, its an awesome machine.

Mac K, could it have been a flat tire?

Also, what are my best options, to complete 4 road races in Class D? All I need is to maintain my current SR, improve it (optionally) and finish 4 races, and I'm suddenly Class C. :)

Well, you need to do the required TTs on the GTC at Suzuka. Just enter, complete the 5 clean laps and get on to the next. Rinse and repeat till you complete the required 4.

Don't forget that it resets tomorrow! You might wanna check the schedule for the series you wanna run next season before making any purchases.

What resets tomorrow? And do you really have to be on Suzuka to get a C license? What I'm actually asking, if I have completed the Mustang series (which doesn't include Suzuka), I can't move on to C? Some things are very vague for me..

I ended up in the 10th split, but got 1st in class and 5th overall. Over half of the split quit and I was 15 laps ahead of 2nd place vette. I drove very consevative and in the end just kept getting further and further ahead of the rest of the vettes. Pretty happy with my performance even if it was a low split. Took alot of off tracks in the esses to avoid the HPDs, but no major incidents. Did have a couple of spins trying to get back on the track though.

I can't believe that I started 17th and only finished 16th. I expected more cars to have DNF'd before me.

You can run Mustang series, to get C-class. I only need to finish four events, to complete my MPR, and I'm at C-class already. :)

Me too.

I bought the mustang though, I can use it in the grand am series too, so I feel like it was a good choice. The GTC seems like a blast. I may cave and get the Jetta, and the tracks so I can race that too.

Sorry if my post missled you Carlos. If you have done at least 4 official races or time trials with the Mustang you are elegible for promotion next week, given your SR isat 3.00 or above.
All you need for promotion is to have done the minimum required races or Time Trials on a series holding your current license level. Track or car doesn't matter as long as it is of the required license level.

Does this change for week 13? Someone said that all series/races count towards your MPR in week 13, is there any truth?

:D I just bought the Jetta, and the full season. This way, I have motivation to make it through the long work-week. 40 hours, for a 19 year old, over the course of 4 days... :yuck:

I hope so. Week 13 will be a fun learning curve, to get me started in Jetta. :)

Holy cow!

That must've cost a small fortune!

No. Week 13 is just to repair SR or get out of Rookie. The races are still official, but the only MPR they fulfill is to get out of Rookie. If you haven't met your MPR and you're not a rookie Week 13 won't help you.
On top of that the only official racing on the Road side for Week 13 is going to be using the SRF wich can be an SR death trap if you're not used to it.
Other unofficial(no SR or iR at play) race series for Week 13 are:
(None of these count for SR, iR or MPR)

HPD @ Oran Park.

MX5 Cup/Solstice/Jetta Cup @ Zolder.

Cadillac @ Motegi East and Suzuka West.

Thank you!

How would you all recommend going through the oval D license (without spending much money)

Well, what I did was use the National car wich I got for free and wait for that series to get to the tracks I already had. Met my MPR there and wait for the end of the season for promotion. I'm not much of an Oval guy, so my experience there is very limited and the reason I did it that way is because I'm not in a hurry to get anywhere in the Oval side.
What I would do is check wich series uses the most popular tracks wich will be used by other higher licensed series and do it there. The National car seems to be popular so it's a good one to have arround for hosted or official racing.

That's the only car I have any interest in (and its not much)

I have a question though, could I run time trials in the indycar if I bought it? If I'm class D and it's class C, could I run time trials with it?

20% discount. :sly: Was only $124; a single day's work. :) Well, actually, less than.

Otherwise... I love the Jetta. Asides from the "squishy, powerless" brakes, it feels exactly like my mom's Ralliart Lancer, and the Accent. :D It's awesome. I almost felt like I was driving real life, but, without the "uhhhhh, my spleen just flew out of the rear window, but the rib cage is being forcibly confined by a seatbelt" g-forces. :)

Now, quickly, polar, get some TTs, NOW! We've got until tomorrow, to fill out our MPRs! Go! Class C!
